While i can understand the backlash over the comments, i think we should just say, that she correctly sees us jews as different, and wants to understand what? I wasn't really offended by her questions. Sounds like she was really trying to work out whether Jews are a race, or a religious or what. Perhaps, Sweden's official twitter account isn't the appropriate forum for this type of comments/questions.. but she doesn't sound hateful. Just uninformed and seeking explanations.

Yes Europe has a long history of tolerance stretching from the inquisition to Pogroms in post war Poland, to Jews being attacked in France today. Add to that the Massacres in the 1990's in Serbia et al. Yes a bastion of tolerance. Not to mention the 600,000 Algerians killed by the French in the 1960's. Oh yes, so very tolerant.

What you need to know about Swedes is: They used to be among the best of non-english speaking countries in using English. These days are gone, the younger generations of Swedes really suck in English, but the don't yet know it. Yack away and sound silly. Example: Swedes are notoriously bad in pronouncing "z" which they pronounce as "s" and they routinely confuse the two consonants when writing. And thereby "fuss" becomes "fuzz". That's really all that's to it.

Most of Europe is virulently anti-semitic - the pogroms inquisitions & holocaust that killed millions of Jews were all carried out in Europe. And Catherine Ashton is a typical pro-muslim , anti-semitic European. The Americans also (especially under Obama) are also unreliable. They wont do anything unless it benefits them. In WWII they kept silent during the Holocaust and entered the war only when Japan attacked them. Thats why Israel should not depend on anyone and ensure their own survival.
