hah....Obama has Israel's back ? USA won't intervene in Syria, so how will the take any action against Iran which is at least 10x as powerful as Syria. Israel you on your OWN !

5. Syria, reminscent of 1939 ?
(06.13.12)
During WWII, Jews were helpless..the USA never came to help despite repeated appeals. Now Israel is not helpless and should take action quickly against Iran. Don't fall for Obama's syrupy words, sanctions and rationality won't work against fanatics & madmen. One has to help themselves. Once bitten, be TWICE shy !
6. @3 - ditto for Israel
Sam Wiesmann   (06.13.12)
And when mushroom clouds rise over Tel-Aviv & Israel, Obama will still be talking of sanctions & "all options are on the table".
7. Syria a Political Remedy to Assad?
Kevin John Lee ,   Glasgow/Uk   (06.13.12)
There can be no political-solution to the conflict thats been ongoing now ! its to late, and Assad is insane!! hes been trying to put a fire out by adding fuel to the blaze, there has to be military intervention before the bodies mount up to a level where the country will end up lawless alike Lebanon was once, and this lawlessnes will spread causing a instability throughout the whole of the middle east, maybe the world. Shalom Rav.

Assad has the largest stockpile of chemical weapons in the region along with Scud missiles and we don't know who will replace him or what their policies will be. A radical Islamist government A Hezbollah coup Al Quaida Civil war Assad himself using them in an attempt to become a hero We just don't know anything and everybody is just assuming it will be a reasonable democratic government. The best thing for Israel to do would be to carry out air strikes against Assad's WMD & missile facilities, tell the public its a humanitarian operation against Assad to help the Syrian people ( they won't know the air strikes are limited to WMD sites ) We can't rely on the west to do the dirty work because there is not enough oil in Syria. The only one that will want to get involved is Erdogan so we destroy the WMD sites then let him step in finish the job & claim all the glory which he is welcome to. I doubt either NATO or the good for nothing Arab League will mind to much. All that will happen to us is we will get is a UN General Assembly resolution condemning it and the relief that whowever replaces Assad will not have WMD capability to threaten Israel with.
10. Wait a minute - Obama told Mubarak to step down - he
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (06.13.12)
can't tell Assad the same ?
11. blah blah blah
George ,   USA   (06.13.12)
NATO is just as responsible for the murder of the innocents by Assad, for being so complacent, when it comes to Syria.
12. Secular Syria will defend itself against any foreigners!
christian arab ,   beverly hills, ca   (06.13.12)
13. #11 I doubt it
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.13.12)
Someone has been sniping Syrian officers and setting off car bombs in Damascus. Someone has been giving the "rebels" communication devices, intelligence from drones, antitank missiles and sabotaged Assad's air defenses and communications centers. Someone has slaughtered pro-Assad civilians. Maybe you are right and this is NATO's work, but I think it is Saudi Arabia and Obama.
