31. One meets very well behaving Israeli tourists today.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.14.12)
Not what it used to be when they were stealing towels from hotels. Prosperity shows.
32. # 29
Birdi ,   Israel & proud of it   (06.14.12)
Thanks Siddhartha for your warm & supportive talkback.
33. Well, to tell the truth
Benjamin ,   TA Israel   (06.14.12)
We all know how Israeli behave abroad. Loud, rude, undisciplined, prone to jumping queue and leaving garbage behind. You can always tell Israeli tourists from afar. It's also could happen young Israeli tourists have forgotten gun ammo in their packs, and that can scare shit out of foreigners... May be Israeli need little polish before going abroad.. PS Israeli abroad are also generally helpful and sincere, but those qualities is not so obvious to outsiders.
34. As a Catholic
Fliss ,   Sydney, Australia   (06.14.12)
As an extremely lapsed Catholic I am thoroughly ashamed at the way the church has behaved - even though I have no say in it. However, please don't put us all into the same category. I went to a Catholic school where we were taught that Judaism is the parent of Christianity - as Christianity began as a Jewish sect, and we should therefore have the utmost respect for Judaism. I have never understood the point of antisemitism and I don't think I ever will. Shalom to you all.
35. Goa
Rahm - Chicago ,   Chicago, USA   (06.14.12)
First of all, I am Jewish, a Zionist and love Israel. I am pretty well travelled and can say that Israeli kids that travel, many of them after their military service behave terribly when they're abroad. Super agressive and think their shit don't stink. I'll be the first to say that a little arrogance or chutzpah can be good at times but this behavior reflects badly on them and their friends, but more importantly on Israel which I love with all my heart.
36. Everything is anti-Semitism?
Sammy ,   NY, USA   (06.14.12)
So every critical statement is only a sign of antisemitism, because Israelis are so pure and innocent? Goa has tons of young Israelis who have just finished serving in the territories, they drink, take drugs and make a mess, are arrogant and self centered. Yes, they are probably also a little traumatized from their time in the army. But so when Indians say anything critical -- it's "anti-semitism". What a cheapening of the word, have Israelis become such crybabies???
37. I'm not sure it's anti-semitism
an Israeli   (06.14.12)
As an Israeli, I also think that many Israelis are rude and inconsiderate. Not because of the army, but because of the way their parents brought them up. The claim that the army send released soldiers to India to relax is of course ridiculous and shows a total ignorant of what's going on in Israel. The army is not a travel agency. Young Israelis do their army service and them decide for themselves what to do afterwards - travel (not necessarily to India), study, or whatever. Many to go to India at all (like me who chose to travel to Europe).
38. So every anti-Israel comment is Anti-Semitism?
J ,   Tel Aviv   (06.14.12)
Don't like what someone is saying? Call them racist. How convenient: you'll never have to admid you made a mistake ever again.
39. Israelis in Goa
jassi ,   new delhi, india   (06.14.12)
all tourists are welcome in India and Israelis are no exception. However, Israelis, though not all, have been accused of rude behaiviour in the past. They are arrogant and insensitive to local cultures. Again, there are wonderful Israelis who are always welcome in our country. To raise the time tested rant of anti-semitism is childish because the knowledge of jewish cultures and the Holocaust is extremely low in India.

That's a nice one :)
41. israelis in goa
simon hyde ,   loughborough   (06.14.12)
any criticism of israelis is always called anti_semitic..its a ploy to try and put people of from criticism..its a cheap trick and the wider world is gradually seeing it for what it is..the zionists seem to think that they can live by a separate set of rules from everyone else..

BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (06.14.12)
Look up the defination of Anti-Semitsm, it's applied exclusively to Jews
43. #7
Jassi ,   New Delhi, India   (06.14.12)
Yes, Yacov, please stop your money from coming to India. how about sending it to Iran? Old Ahmedinejad will send you flowers :)
44. #21
Jassi ,   New Delhi, India   (06.14.12)
Li, completely agree with you in that we have had our share of problems. As for our repression being on a larger scale then the israelis, i don't know. However, we have always accepted our wrongs and are trying to get peace. However, israelis have always hidden behind the skirts of anti-semitism when accused of wrong doings to palestinians.
45. Anti-Semitism in Goa.
I. Fernandes ,   West Sussex U.K.   (06.15.12)
If your people behaved yourselves in Goa and not carried out drug smuggling you will find most Goans friendly, courteous and ready to help if in trouble.
46. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.15.12)
Predictably enough, you have completely misinterpreted the article. The accusations were made by the Roman Catholic Church; accusations which were quickly disavowed by local Goanese and by the Indian government.
47. it is church not India
sharon ,   mumbai   (06.16.12)
this is from church and not from the india aor all the indian people - a majority still looks upon Israel asa friend and love jews. Church is antisemitic because Jews are hard to convert to their faith. Church had destroyed jewish communites - killed and converted all in the nake of love.
48. # 8 bob,It's not India,but the Antisemitic
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (06.17.12)
catholic church in Goa,that is playing to the tune of the muslim brotherhood.
49. # 44 Jassi ,You too are a victim of the new
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (06.17.12)
Antisemitism, which wraps itself in the palestinian flag, accusing Israel for the crime of defending itself against palestinian homocide bombers,Israel gave the palestinians the Gaza strip on a silver plate, your beloved palestinians reacted by starting a war against Israel, attacking Israel with rockets, and kidnapings,do you believe that Israel shoud leave the west bank and let the palestinians create another terrorist state in the west bank of the Jordan river ?.How about you handing over Kashmir to pakistan ?.after all the majority of people in Kashmir are muslims.
50. This is not true
Andrew ,   Goa, India   (06.18.12)
What the Church officials in Goa say about Israelis is just not true. The real problem is that the spirit of anti-Semitism still lingers in Goa since the times of Portugal rule where many Jews were burnt at stake for over a period of 200 years in the Goa inquisition. God's judgment is inevitable if we dont repent of anti-Semitism in Goa on both Catholic and Protestant Churches.
51. Inhumane
Yosi ,   Beersheba Israel   (06.18.12)
Every criticism agaisnt someone Jewish isn't anti Semitic. Especially since not all Semitic people are Jewish. Arabs are also Semitic since they also speak a Semitic language 'Arabic'. Some times a criticism about Zionism, IDF, or Israelis is just that and not anti Semitic.
52. Anti-semitism in India?
Vik ,   Melbourne   (05.31.13)
I personally always supported Israel and liked Jews. But it's really changing now. There is no anti-semitism in India! Indians has a great tolerance for everyone including animals but with this attitude I can assure you Israel will start losing Indians as their friend without repair.
53. Response to Anti-"Semitism in Goa"
N/A ,   Fort Worth, Tx, USA   (06.30.13)
"inhumane" is putting it quite mildly. Stronger adjectives should be used to describe the disgusting, disrespectful behavior of most Israeli backpackers in India. Americans behave badly in India, claims Mr. Natan? The majority of Americans in India are here for business or to study, not get stoned, or disrespect local culture or worse, the locals, whom Israelis frequently refer to as "childlike" of "retarded children." Do Indians behave like this in Israel? NO. So don't do so in their country. Better yet, go spend your post-army blood money in South America.
