1. Failures were remedied by Israeli Nay Seals,be proud of it .
ab   (06.14.12)
Best planning is worthless without soldiers to execute it,so don't exaggerate. And it's not as if one can or indeed should plan for everyhing beforehand ,lest one has infinity of time at one's disposal,so don't exaggerate.
2. We are concerned
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.14.12)
Ben-Yishai talks about the flawed decision making process, but Zionists have known this a long time. All the flawed decisions in the last 25 years, since the First Intifada, have been based on messianic Leftist beliefs and most (if not all) were pushed by Peres and Barak. If it weren't for the dead, it would be funny. How smart is it to think that giving the terrorist Arafat weapons and territory would bring peace? How smart is it to think that destroying the SLA and giving Lebanon to Hezbollah is a good idea? How smart is it to think that destroying Gush Katif and giving Gaza to Hamas is a good idea? How smart is it to send shayetet soldiers rapelling singly into the midst of a raging mob?
3. Nonsense
michael Pielet ,   israel   (06.14.12)
I will stick with Barak and The Prime Minister.. You can have Ron, the comptroller who does not know what he is talking about, Diskin and Dagan. All 4 of the above are a bunch of uninformed, jealous blowhards.
4. Turkey's Dark Past
Josh ,   Herzilya   (06.14.12)
we must embark upon a long-term strategy of raising awareness regarding the occupation of kurdish land and the armenian genocide by Turkey ever since its founding in the 1920s. Armenia must be enlarged to include the lands occupied by Turkey and Kurds must be granted independence and sovereignty over its lands former and current. These injustices must become part of the discourse and dialogue whenever one mentions Turkey.
5. I 4 1 have been concerned since the Ma'shal affair...
terror survivor ,   Israel   (06.14.12)
remember that one? It was the one during PM Mr. Netanyahu's first time as PM (in the late 90s) when as a DIRECT result of PM Mr. Netanyahu's decisions, Israel had to release Ahmed Yassin...and as a result a reign of terrorist attacks was unleased on Israel by Yassin and his cohorts. Yes I am very concerned. How to fix all of this?
6. Iran already decided
Frank Berg   (06.14.12)
So who says Ahmedinijad or Khameni was mistranslated when they called for the extermination of Israel ? Now in clear black & white - Iran deadly threat being whitewashed by Obama & Europe finally exposed:- Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi (one of the closest aides of Khameni) said today threats and pressures cannot deter Iran from its revolutionary causes and ideals, and stressed that the Iranian nation will remain committed to the full annihilation of the Zionist regime of Israel to the end. - Fars News Agency, May 2012
7. what a joke
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.14.12)
Israelis concerned ? Most Israelis are only concerned about their material welfare...anything else is just irrelevant
8. AGAIN THE MARMARA AFFAIR !
Mark ,   T.a. ISRAEL   (06.14.12)
IF PM AND DEFENCE MINISTER KNEW THE GOLDEN RULE THAT #IN THE MILITARY ANY WRONG DECISION MAKING THE CONSEQUENCES WILL FOLLOW YOU TILL THE END # THEY WOULD'T FALL IN A SUCH A DIFFICULT POSITION !
9. flawed decision making models
marcel   (06.14.12)
we already know that barak's instructions to the commando were flawed in terms of weapons systems used, resistance anticipated(always go on worst case, not best case) and boarding strategy. Bibi' reliance on barak is an albatross on israel as he is no longer effective compared to his on ground commando days. He was disconnected during the carmel fire, he was wrong on predicting assad's demise, he is wrong on west bank withdrawal, he is wrong on almost everything. Even if you have the best decisoin making meetings, if you have a coward leading the meetings like olmert, only bad decisions will be made.
10. Ehud Barak is a disaster

This should be the FIRST article on the news page! Thank you Ron Ben-Yishai for telling it "like it is".
14. dream state
bill ,   canada   (06.15.12)
the gene pool is way way too small in israel; your best weapons are your rabbis; send them in chanting and see how many iranians laugh themselves to death
15. Glad tidings
Thessalonian ,   Canada   (06.15.12)
IHH's chief Bülent Yıldırım has been charged by Turkish procecutors for allegedly transferring funds to al-Qaeda. No need for apologies whatsoever as those who died were indeed terrorist provocators rather than innocent civilians. Regards
16. Ehud Barak's Incompetence
jay abouaf ,   Jaffa, Israel   (06.16.12)
Ehud Barak is a strategic threat to Israel. Time and again he is gets off after serious mistakes. He sows discord among our people. He sows discord in the IDF He is foolishly arrogant.
17. The Roman dictators
Latter-Day Prophet ,   the War Room   (06.18.12)
In the early days of the Roman polity they appointed a "dictator", a special magistrate with supreme authority, whenever the very existence of the nation was threatened by external factors. In such times it's essential to have a single command to make the urgent decisions, because there's no time to sit down and argue. Maybe this explains why, in a state where that threat is ever present, military decisions are placed in the hands of a few. One might argue that in the present case there's plenty of time available for discussions, and that in those days Rome was still weak and could not afford to hesitate when the enemy was at the gates. It could be that the IDF remains stuck in the mid-20th Century, when the Palestinian's main supplier of weapons was Czechoslovakia. (That's how the Jewish immigrants in Palestine were called.)
