the quality of presidential leadership in the US has deteriorated to such an abyss... from Bush Jr. to Obama, and the worst is yet to come. Not only the US educational system but the entire US culture needs to be rebuilt from the bottom.

As an american jew and an israeli, I'm not as certain as the author that Obama will get the vast majority of American Jewish votes. It is almost painful to read some of the uninformed and ignorant comments of people like John Doe (#6)and others who accuse Pollard of being a traitor because these nitwits have no idea of what a traitor is or what the definition of treason is. For their information, Pollard was not convicted of treason or being a traitor. In the US constitution, treason is defined as "levying war against the US or in giving aid and comfort to its enemies." Walker, in giving away secrets to Russia was a traitor because at the time that he acted , America was still engaged in a cold war with the USSR and the secrets hurt the US. In contrast, Pollard was convicted of giving state secrets to Israel, a friendly nation. His crime was no different than Daniel Ellsburg stealing the top-secret papers to the NY Times about the lies about the Viet Nam war. Obviously giving secret information away is a crime and he deserved to be punished.
