31. Nazi`s death camps were setup by Germans - not Polish
Marcin ,   London   (07.02.12)
@Maurice from Los Angeles ` Do you thing the Nazis could have murdered 2.5 million polish Jews without the polish people looking the other way at best or actively helping them at worst?` 1. Before the the war there were more Jews in Poland than in any other country and there is a reason for that; - they were very welcome in Poland - in contrast to other countries. - ie. America didn`t let in St. Louis ship with Israel refugees. 2. The accusation of actively helping the nazis is very unfair. After devastating war Poland was under German occupation. During the war and in german death camps over 6 million Polish were killed! Most of the cities were completely destroyed. There were many Polish who risked their (and their families) lifes to rescue Jews. (please read about Righteous Among the Nations) I personally knew a person, who was hidding a jew family in the celar. That is why statesments like yours hurts.
32. Info
Tom ,   UK   (07.01.12)
Jews for centuries treated the Poland as a homeland When Poland was under occupation during the Second World War, Jews and Poles was dying at the hands of the Germans every day.
33. This is an insult. Learn history man
Konrad ,   P   (07.02.12)
Poland was a promised land of tolerance for Jews when they've been killied and persecuted in all western Europe. they worked very hard for aversion by beging ruthless for other people and by betrading Poles in their uprisings. When WWII started Jews in east of Poland were throwing flowers on Russian tanks. And still 150000 Poles gaved their lives in saving 300000 Jews. In France Germans was giving a ticket for saving a Jew but in Poland punishment for saving Jew was killing of all family which was hiding a Jew and even their neighbours. This is not some sort of secret knowlegde
34. Haha, Now you see all yours lies about Poland...
Thomas ,   Katowice, Poland   (07.01.12)
Now you see all yours lies about Poland and polish antisemitism. There was circa 3 milions Jews in Poland just after WWII, and they can lived together with Poles in one country, like brothers, like good neighbors... and for many of them Poland was only and truly MOTHERLAND, not some piece od desert in Palestina. Now they wanted come bach to motherland, Jews from Israel... quite ironic, isn't it? You know nothing about Poland, polish hospitality and multicultural polish commonwealth created by the thousand years. Shame on you.
35. Polish resistance
Bazyli ,   Warsaw, Poland   (07.02.12)
Maurice, are you for real? Read about the Polish resistance (Home Army), about Żegota (Polish Council to Aid Jews), check the list of Yad Vashem's Righteous among the Nations and don't spread ignorance.
36. why not?
Jacek ,   Poland   (07.02.12)
fisrt at all, your statement accusing whole nation of helping Germans (note, not sme nazis, but GERMANS) is veery unfair. Please remember, that only in Poland there was a death penalty for helping Jews during WW2. And notice friendly France, which deported most of their Jewish community without any orders from Germans. This tragic history was 70 years go, the generations has. passed since then. Please do not accuse the whole nation for something, on which we had a little influence. Best regards
37. ???
Genek ,   Poland   (07.01.12)
Will distribute their usurious loans? and manipulate the Polish society. And the Poles are to get into debt? need not problems
38. Poland is not responsible for Holocaust
Marco   (07.02.12)
I'm depressed by some comments that I found here. Do you know that Poland was first nation that opposed Hitler and was conquered by Nazi Germany? Do you know how many Jews in Poland were murdered? 3 millions. And who many ethnic Poles were killed? Also over 3 millions, so please do not mix up butcher with victims. Thank you for your attention.
39. you are wrong
(07.02.12)
You are wrong. Just read on Wikipedia how many ethnic Poles were murdered during World War Two. By the way, pleas tell me - How much do you know about WW2 in general?
40. Wonderful
Lucas ,   London, UK   (07.01.12)
I think it is wonderful that Jews want to be closer to the only country that has ever been their friends. Germans, Russian, Arabs, they all hated Jews and murdered them whenever they had the opportunity. Poles have always been their only friends. This is setting history right, as Martin Luther King woudl say.
41. Antisemitic - who?
Chris ,   Poland   (07.02.12)
I am a Pole and I am not antisemitic. Most Poles are not. In fact, I think that there's more antisemitc sentiment in UK, France or Germany - just read newspapers from there. On the other hand, in PL you can see more care about the Jewish part of the culture that once was vibrant and now is passing away. That is why you can see new museums, historian's research or festivals. Yep, but of course we are antisemitic.
42. #41 Chris - You and Jacek at #36 are not ...
Mark ,   Lodz (in Eretz)   (07.02.12)
Genek #37 is........and probably spends his time listening to the nonsense broadcasted on Radia Maryja about Jews. Hence his ignorant post
43. #22 Jason, I think that were you to come and
Mark ,   Lodz   (07.02.12)
..spend some time, see what's really going on in today's Poland, you would reconsider your position.
44. to Maurcie
mjkl ,   Poland   (07.02.12)
To Maurice: 1st of all, there were Jews, Poles, Spaniards, Hungarians, Gipsies and GERMANS in KLs, you don't understand a single thing from the history of that time and you know very little about the history of Holocaust which is very cleraly seen in your comment. And, to add a final touch, even though I'm not native english speaker - grandparents - it's not written separately
45. Poland
(07.02.12)
How about all the pogroms before the war? How about the the repatriated victims from Concentration Camps who came back to their homeland after the war & were lynched when they a sked for their properties?
46. With who are you in war???
Wojtek ,   PL   (07.02.12)
With who are you in war??? We do not have any war in Poland and we do not wan to have. So stay where you are if u intend to go for a war with someone..
47. Ehhh education
Max ,   USA   (07.03.12)
You know that Auschwitz (not Auschewitz) is a polish city called Oswiecim ? No one is forcing you to move to Poland . You can stay in Israel and keep talking stories about "bad poles" . If polish people are so bad and Poland is not a place for Jews why you are using polish law to get a passport ?
48. Love the baggage in these comments
Cameron ,   USA   (07.03.12)
Truly fascinating. Hey, I've got my Irish/EU passport in addition to the US, so I can relate to all the Israelis running after the Polish option.
49. Chris, many of us have deep love for poland and its culture
David ,   Tel Aviv   (07.03.12)
My grandfather was a polish jew and very proud of poland and it's culture. He used to speak about the country and the people very kindly. Polish immigrants to Israel have a unique character and contributed greatly to the establishment of the country. The destruction of the polish jewish community is a loss for both people.
50. wtf
Andrew   (07.03.12)
Maurice, you seem to be dumb. Go back to school and learn some WWII history and then make comments. Don't make Americans look like idiots.
51. Jews consider leaving lands of today's violence
Michał Borsuk ,   Munich, Bavaria   (07.05.12)
It is depressing that so many Jews are still in Israel. The level of brainwashing that Jews in Israel receive at school is shocking. Truth is that Israel is not the greatest place to live, and no wonder than people come back to Europe. And cut the BS about antisemitism, it runs among the most primitive folks who, in today's democracies, have very little to say. I'm more afraid of losing my retirement savings thanof antisemitism.
52. legal
Egon ,   Katowice,Polska   (09.26.13)
Jews are the Hazars, a Turkfolk, which was defeated by the Rus Kijewer and then spread throughout Europe.
