1. Mr. Sousha
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (06.20.12)
We don't hate Muslims, we do hate those that support our destruction. We are willing to extend a hand in friendship to those that are willing to be true friends. We expect all Israelis to stand with the government in the face of Muslim racism, regardless of faith. If you are willing to accept the above, then we are willing to consider you as a friend.
2. Arab Moderates Need To Speak Up
ACortez ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (06.20.12)
Because everything in the news from arabs is racist propaganda. I'm sure there are millions of good Muslims that would like to peace with Israel and each other. The problem is they are silent and allow the racist elements of their societies to control the dialogue. Arabs need to face up to their extremist brethren just as the Christians have done.
3. 1# gee muslims are part of a religion not a race
what   (06.20.12)
4. Aiman Shousha
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.20.12)
Mr. Shousha is completely right. What Shousha did not say (and rightly so) is that the real problem in Israel is not the Muslim citizens but the messianic Leftists such as unfunny "entertainer" Avri Gilad. These Leftists support the fanatic Israel-hating Muslims and betray honest non-Jewish citizens of Israel. But it is not only Israeli Muslims who are the victims of the Leftists. Naomi Shemer, Israel's greatests poet and songwriter was assaulted, marginalized and censored by the Leftists for refusing to mindlessly follow their diktat, and daring to be a Zionist. Aiman do not despair and think you are alone. All Israelis, Jewish or not, are the victims of the messianic Leftists.
5. Mr. Sousha, I was hoping for more.
Steve   (06.20.12)
You wrote: "If one of our members stole, assaulted, or raped, he did it because of the lowly person he is, not because of his religion..." Those who planned and carried out the 9/11/2001 attacks in New York and Washington did it and justified it because of religion. Millions justify the 9/11 and other attacks on unbelievers (non-Muslims) on the basis of religion; on Islam's texts and teachings. Those who assault Israel's Jews, more often than not, justify it on the basis of religion. For many of your members, a Jewish state in this region is unacceptable, no matter its borders. It cannot, must not be tolerated, but fought. I was hoping to read in this piece how your faith enjoins you to accept a Jewish state in the region and on what basis.
6. what?!
chaim witz   (06.20.12)
So, how can one tell the difference between a real islamic foe and an islamic jewish-neutral individual?
7. So many Muslims are enemies, makes it hard to not generalize
Marco ,   Spain   (06.20.12)
8. Time for Muslims to call out the extremists...
(06.20.12)
Enough with the bleeding heart explanations. Its time for solutions. Those, like the author, need to write letter to Arabs who are Enemies to Israel.... Because in the end, if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. We questioned why Germans stood by as the Nazis came to power and remained silent.
9. Circassians, Druzees and Kurds have never been enemies
Marco ,   Spain   (06.20.12)
of Jews. The same is true with Christian Arabs and part of the Bedouin community in Israel. As for the rest, they have to be counted as enemies. Israel cannot afford the luxury to be too picky because a small mistake could endanger its survival.
10. Thank you Aiman Sousha,
Israella   (06.20.12)
I appreciate your heartfelt sentiments and the invaluable contributions made by the Circassian community to the State of Israel. I did not hear what Gilad said but is it not just possible that Gilad attacked militant Islam and Islamic terrorist organizations that want nothing more than the total destruction of Israel?
11. Mr Sousha, I'm a Jew among the gentiles
Yossef   (06.20.12)
and I share your views, and I believe in what you say. I'd like to speak arabic, I don't, my grandparents did. Take care, we need each other.
12. Go away please and don't come back
Yoni the Jew ,   Jewish homeland   (06.20.12)
Generalizations are made since they are generally true. Articles like this give a completely false impression on the reality we live in. Even IF you an exception to the rule you do not have the right it change the rule. The rule is that Arabs in Israel support Hamas and believe this is their land and want us out no matter how and what. I don't believe that you are an exception since you probably send your kids to learn about hatred of Israel and Jews in the same Islamic schools we fund. You or your family members probably voted for Hamas and you probably did not stand up against the terror attacks and violence that your people profess. So please go back to Jordan or whatever Arab country your ancestors came from and don't come back to the Jewish homeland of Israel.
13. Islam is a Problem...The Stoning of Soraya M
Netanya ,   Netanya   (06.20.12)
is a movie, based on a true story and it shows what Islam sharia law is all about. The movie takes place in Iran, so it has no connection to Jews, it is only Islam alone and the blame and the trying to say something else about Islam is not possible when you watch this movie. The women are beaten and it only takes two men to lie and say a woman is guilty of adultery for a judgement to be made and she is stoned to death an hour later. This is a true story and it happens everywhere that sharia is the law and the people live as written in the koran. Jews and others don't have to do anything, but breath to be enemies of Islam and be murdered in holy jihad. Twisting the idea, because you are not religious or think that you don't have to accept the entire koran does not change the truth about Islam.
14. true....
Galut ia ,   Selah   (06.20.12)
True.... but they need to do more to help their fellow muslims to become responsible peaceful and constructive citizens of israel
15. Mr Sousha
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.20.12)
It is good to read your article. It brings hope. But you are in the minority of Muslims, at least those we [sadly] know about. Those that wanted to drive us into the sea even before Israel was reborn. Those that committed the progroms to drive their point home. And those that continue to do so today.
16. Nu....
Froike ,   NY NY   (06.20.12)
Nu Mr. Sousha so come over for a cup of coffee and some croissants. Not every Muslim is bad, not every Jew, Christian, or Martian is bad or good...We are judged by our actions. So if you act as a good neighbor, you are...Nuff said!
17. Kol Hacavod
Dennis wolf ,   Los Gatos calif   (06.20.12)
Mr Sousa, you are the epitome of the Islamic Renaissance so deeply needed. Thank you!

19. # 12 Yoni
Sagi   (06.20.12)
You have just written a post filled with hatred and based on total ignorance. The writer is a Muslim but he is not Arab. He is from a small ethnic community that has dwelt in Israel even before my family, and I am fifth generation, he has served in the IDF as all members of his community do and they are very dedicated and upright citizens. An apology is due.
20. Dear Mr. Sousha
Sagi   (06.20.12)
I offer you my apologies for the ridiculous rant of Yoni at #12. I hope that he will find it in his heart to also apologize to you.
21. #12 You didn't even read the article, did you.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (06.20.12)
Like so many people around here, you probably fixated on the title and the first paragraph. Congratulations - you are further alienating someone who does not deserve it. Think about that, if you will. And do read the article, especially the last bit.
22. IRONICALLY only a BIG ISRAEL can save Islam from Islamism.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (06.20.12)
23. I,a "settler", and have no problem with my fellow citizens
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (06.20.12)
I am an Israeli and I have worked with and had dealings with many Muslims over the years - all of whom are excellent people and outstanding citizens. The vast majority of Israelis are honest, law abiding citizens no matter what their origins or religion. My challenge as a Jew is to help educate my fellow Jews to respect the Torah, which teaches us to respect our fellow men and women no matter what their religion.
24. Go away
Ed ,   Buena Park, USA   (06.20.12)
This is the kind of response that perpetuates the hatreds that fuel the constant conflict there. Your attitude is no different than the prejudicial attitudes of the Arabs you hate so much. You're an arrogant fool no better than them.
25. #12 what a moron
aiman ,   jersey   (06.20.12)
I think till this day the jewish people have more generalizations and stereotypes than most other nations I think most of us can name a few but I wont because I am too classy and I know for a fact that most of this generalizations are false
26. #13 have you ever read the Torah or the bible?
aiman ,   Jersey   (06.20.12)
27. #12 - Numbskull
Max ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.20.12)
Get a brain! He's a Ciracassian not an an arab! Circassians are from the Caucasus near Georgia. They were brought here by the Turkish Ottomans as refugees from war with the russians in the 17th century. Like the Druze, they are loyal israeli citizens and serve with distinction in the IDF! Your attitude is the problem he's writing about! His religion is Islam but his citizenship in Israeli and he's confirmed that fact. But you are ignorantly lumping him in terrorist extremists - who would probably kill him too for his allegiance to Israel. Here's some jewish wisdom for you: Lev 19:34: As a citizen among you shall be the ger (the stranger) who lives among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were gerim in the land of Egypt—I am the Lord your God.
28. #13 - How does this relate to him being a good Israeli citiz
Max ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.20.12)
There are extremist states in every religion. Iran being one and Saudi Arabia being the another. And yet they hate each other!! Because there is no Monolithic Islam - Iran is shia and Saudi Arabia is sunni - so they both call each other kaffirs and heretics! And there is also a moderate and mystical branch of Islam called Sufism - which affirms the right of existence for Israel - but since they're peaceful, their voices get drowned out in the screams for Jihad. And let's not forget that not many years ago the Catholic Church officially blames the crucifixition of Jesus on the rejection of the Jews. And that he reason all those fundamentalist Christians are such good friend of Israel is because the return of the jewish people to Israel is one of the signs of the coming apocalypse and when Jesus returns, those jews who don't convert to christianity in the final days will be condemned forever at the last judgement by God. And of course, there are the crazy extremist Kahanist types, who hold that Israel was promised to them alone and that the native populations are amalekites, who God has decreed they be expelled our exterminated. And then there is the Orthodox Official Rabbinate that holds that no other jewish communities, ie reform, conservative, karaite, ethopian falasha, are Valid Jews unless the conbert to the orthodox creed. But they'll take overseas donations from these crypto-jews but don't try to get married or buried in Israel. In fact, you can join the IDF and fight for Israel and get killed but you can;t get buried or married there? Sorry for the rant - but I disagree. Israel will be a greater nation when it embraces all it's citizens equally.
29. #12 Yoni.....
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (06.20.12)
Very sad....very sad.... You should be ashamed! How very un-Jewish of you! There are many Muslims, who just want to live in peace in Israel and be left to do just that. It's a shame you are such a bigoted racist.
30. #28 max
solomon ,   bklyn   (06.21.12)
Good post, especially "you can join the IDF and fight for Israel and get killed but you can;t get buried or married there?"
