and demand respect and services and right and opportunity to fully participate as equal citizens. unfortunately many are silent or vote for arab representatives who end up doing them a disservice by wasting time on non-israel issues. join in as civil citizens we all are civil citizens with responsibilities, obligations and rights. maybe most of us are Israeli-jewish citizens. but as an israeli-arab citizen, full in all ways you must give and demand. but you can never demand if you do not give. which is why the black hats receive no respect from israeli jews.

It's not about Islam when people say hateful things about the 'Islamic desease'. It's about the war with the Sunni Arabs that Israel and Jews have had for the last 90 years. Obviously, none of those who say things like that would mean Circassians. It's sect against sect and as a Circassian you're lucky that you're on the outside looking in. The sentiment is also somewhat weakened for most readers when they realise that you're not a Sunni Arab who self-identifies as Palestinian. I know that what I'm writing is unpopular, especially in some progressive circles, but that's what people really think about underneath. "It's us against the Jews and the Christians will help us because they are scared and we'll take care of the traitor Druze and Circassians after we win" or "The Muslims (i.e. Sunni Arabs) are our enemy and until we crush them, we won't be safe here." The kumbaya and holding our hands together stuff will have to wait a while longer in this region.

Israelis live with Muslims. It would be impossible for them to "misunderstand" the Islamic religion, culture, and people no matter how hard they may try to hide some things. Also, many Israelis are the descendants of Arabic Jews who lived in Islamic countries for centuries. They lived in those countries (including Israel) before Mohammed was born and the religion of Islam came to be. Those Jewish people know Islam as well as any Muslim people do. Their judgments are accurate and their defensiveness is not without reason.

Happily Israel is not theocracy (yet) and non-Jew don't have to justify their non-Jewishness and feel guilt about it. Little more aggressive life position wouldn't hurt here. Why so few pro-Israel non-Jew in politics? Israel would benefit from more visible and active pro-Israel Arabs, Muslims and other non-Jews. BTW Israel high-tech too.

Part of the problem is that Muslim/Arab MK's give the impression of being Israel's internal enemies. So-called 'spokesmen/women' for Israeli Muslims/Arabs speak like enemies of Israel, accepting the full range of human rights in Israel while sticking up two fingers at Israeli Jews who guarantee those rights and the IDF who protect those rights from being destroyed by Islamist terrorists.

Educating and integrating the Israeli Arab community (Circassians are already well integrated), and treating them as equal citizens will only strengthen Israel. That is why the Muslim birth rate has fallen from 9 /Muslim mother to almost the same as Jewish mothers today. The huge majority of Israeli Arabs want to be Israeli, not Egyptian, and certainly don't want to live under Palestinians Arab rule. The problem is stereotyping and the fact that most Israeli Jews never meet Israeli Arab-Ignorance.

Who said anything about me hating you personally? I live in progressive Rehovot and I don't spend a single minute out of the year obsessing about Arab Sunnis who are out to kill Jews. In fact, you can come over for tea and we'll probably have a good conversation. Then again, I'm under no illusion that that is just what many other Jews do, and what many Arabs think about Jews. This isn't Europe. Until our cultures become less tribal, it's foolish to ignore reality.

Islam is different than Christianity, which has changed throughout the years. Islam is written so that it cannot be changed and EVERYTHING MUST be accepted, if it is written in the koran. Also what happened hundreds of years ago, is not relevant to the constant and consistent terrorism today done in the name of Islam. Islam has been violent, since its inception and has continued. The Christians may have killed Jews due to thinking that we murdered Jesus, however not due to their god saying it Islam murders since it is a religious duty. There may be good Muslim people without hatred, but according to Islam they are infidels and should be killed. The hadith is very clear on what to do to Jews and that peace for Muslims will come when the trees talk and say to them "their is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him" You either don't know the Islamic religion or are trying to lessen the seriousness of the truth. FYI: The first Crusade began in 1095... 460 years after the first Christian city was overrun by Muslim armies, 457 years after Jerusalem was conquered by Muslim armies, 453 years after Egypt was taken by Muslim armies, 443 after Muslims first plundered Italy, 427 years after Muslim armies first laid siege to the Christian capital of Constantinople, 380 years after Spain was conquered by Muslim armies, 363 years after France was first attacked by Muslim armies, 249 years after Rome itself was sacked by a Muslim army, and only after centuries of church burnings, killings, enslavement and forced conversions of Christians.

Non-moslems were dhimmi, with LESS rights than muslims. As you say, they paid taxes. Many countries forced Jews to wear distinctive clothing to separate them, much like the yellow star by the nazis. In addition, Islam is not practiced as you preach it. Many moslem countries dealt in slavery and some still do.
