1. yishai and shtineitz
alexi   (06.20.12)
israel had to equip itself with a fire fighting fleet with materiel and training ready to go. barak did nothing as Pm, likewise sharon and olmert and then same story for bibi. Yishai should be fired for trying towiggle out of responsibility and shteinitz cannot be promoted to any security job. bibi has to take some blame as he is the captain of the ship.
2. Yishai blamed for fire that Arabs started. Nuts!
(06.20.12)
3. Israeli Politicians
Michael ,   Haifa   (06.20.12)
Of course, once again, no Israeli politician is ever accountable for what he does or does not do. And we, the idiots, vote them in again and again, time after time. We deserve them.
4. He can cry like a baby, but his legacy is sealed.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.20.12)
Not that Yishai is much different from other ministers. They are all appointed for political reasons and can't tell fire from water. The entire operation of the Knesset is one big joke, detrimental to Israel. Yishai was caught at his incompetence, that's the only difference.
5. more of the same ... the blame game
Aaron ,   Zichron Yaakov   (06.20.12)
as usual, those in charge REFUSE to take responsibility .... What, did you actually expect Yishai & Shtineitz to stand up after the report and say "you're right .... we resign" ? Even Churchill refused to accept the blame for Gallipoli!
6. THE TRAGIC CONFLAGRATION SHOWED YISHAI'S TOTAL INCOMPETENCE
stude ham   (06.20.12)
noone needed a report some 2 years later to do that. why is yishai still in the government of israel?
7. Israeli politicians hold up their hands
Sarah B (no not her)   (06.20.12)
and admit they got it wrong and resign? Never going to happen in a million years, there will be a vote in the Knesset and they will be exonerated. and they all will return to stick their snouts in the trough
8. Answers
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.21.12)
Yishai: "If no one had been killed..." A: If dollars grew on trees, we would all be rich. Steinitz: "Preposterous" A: Preposterous is as preposterous does.
9.  Why is this year different from all other years?
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.21.12)
1. Why did the Haredim burn down the Carmiel forest? 2. Why did the Haredim spit on that little girl? 3. Why did the Haredim kick that women off the bus when she wouldn't move to the back? 4. Why did the Haredim call that female soldier a slut?
10. State comptroller
Spencer ,   Israel   (06.21.12)
I am no fan of Yishai but in this instance the report of Micha Lindenstrauss, was sadly lacking and showed just how incompetent this comptroller was. The Jerusalem Post was spot on in it's front page story today when it referred to Micha Lindenstrauss as "the real Opposition Leader. Throughout his term of office this is how he has behaved. Many of his reports made groundless accusations against the Government. His "ruling" that Steinitz and Yishai should be held accountable is, to put it politely idiotic. In this instance, what may have caused the terrible results of this fire, was the lack of operation between the various bodies of the Fire Department, Police, KKL and nature reserve Authorities. very unfortunate , but not the fault of either Minister.
