1. just another form of Tag Machir
meir ,   TA   (06.24.12)
2. Weak analysis
Eldar ,   Haifa   (06.24.12)
Little has changed since last year. Protesters took back to the streets. Someone ordered the police to blow out the candle (by violently arresting protest leaders). Now they have a fire. The protestors claims are perfectly legitimate. The elected leadership has decided to try to spare themselves of the embarrassment of mass protest. The police are only doing their bidding. Whose to blame? The current government.
3. What is their point ? give me my entitlements or i'll loot ?

4. Gibberish..translation from the Hebrew makes it painful
Al   (06.24.12)
Either think and speak English as a first language or move onto another trade, like felalfel selling. You have no business writing english language articles.
5. Exactly Yoaz! This boils down to Anarchy!
Israeli 2   (06.24.12)
6. Secular violence is not surprising at all
Rabbis are SO right   (06.24.12)
It starts with going against laws pertaining to G-d, like Shabbat, tefillin and ends by going against people, murder and robbery. If there's no fear of Heaven, there's no fear of earth. The Rabbis are SO right.
7. Important clarification
Eldar ,   Haifa   (06.24.12)
I stress, the claims of the protesters are justified. NOT their tactics in this case - which should never be tolerated!
8. #6 oh really so please explain
Haim ,   TA   (06.24.12)
Oh really so please explain how is it a group of harideem nearly murdered a mother and her baby last week by throwing rocks at her can as they didint agree with the hem line of her address. Last time i checked the men in black kept Shabbat, your pathetic attempt to label all secualr people shows the level of your intelligence. Maybe civil war between secular and religious is the best way to solve this.
9. They are funny, these protesters!
msh   (06.24.12)
Do not they know that to demonstrate and to be violent is oficially permitted only to the settlers and the members of Nazional-Religiosische Partei?
10. Agree: on both sides of the green line
Avramele   (06.24.12)
In this case I agree with many of the protesters aims but not their means. However standards of adherence to the rule of law must be respected not only in tel Aviv but the territories as well. A goading messianic rabbi, kipah and tzizit does not exempt one from the responsibility. I doubt if Hendel the rightist he is would agree.
11. #2 the hooligans lost the battle last night.
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (06.24.12)
Of course there are things that need to be fixed in Israel. There are things that need to be fixed in EVERY country. Last nights hooliganism damaged the protest movements aims irreparably. That might be sad or not, but it's definitely true!
12. They could behave more civil
AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (06.24.12)
Its is nice for the citizen of any nation to air grievances. Buy why block streets and inconvenience others and why smash others property?
13. The brewing storm
L.Evens ,   Canada   (06.24.12)
Anarchy? What do we have around the world? Laws that promote injustice, poverty, the corrupt are protected by law– we have a state of organized anarchy right now. Without justice -there is no order and if anyone out there believes we have justice anywhere in the world -you are the true anarchists. Until justice is restored -its all down hill – no matter where you live or what you believe. There can be no more excuses. If our global leadership are incapable of restoring justice -our nations will crumble -one after another -from the inside-out.
14. It's not anarchy, it's a "crash" or "breakdown"
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.24.12)
Push people to far for too long and it will end in what many will call anarchy. This is society's natural order for the redistribution of everything, from societal class to responsibility. It happens every two centuries or so, and it looks like it's about to happen here.
15. weird....
J.Gedalov ,   Israel   (06.24.12)
protests and rallys are unusual in Tel Aviv, not to mention in Israel
16. #8 "shows the level of YOUR intelligence" for labelling
Haredi protests are ,   ALWAYS peaceful   (06.24.12)
all haredim together as you like to. You write "a group of harideem nearly murdered a mother and her baby" First of all, there was not more than one nutcase who threw stones. What exactly made him haredi?Jjust because he wore black does not mean he's haredi. There were plenty of cases where secular instigators dressed up in haredi garb for people like you to be able to accuse haredim in general, like ynet does generally. Second of all, haredi protests are always peaceful and supervised by Rabbis. It's the police who come and beat those peaceful protesters causing violence. Young yeshiva boys are not allowed to participate. Those who do are not yeshiva boys, and more likely, not religious.
17. Turn the fire hoses on the brats!
No concessions ,   nobrats@gmail.com   (06.24.12)
18. #6 - how stupid you are for bringing secular...
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (06.24.12)
vs. religious into this. How many Haredi protests in Jerusalem have been violent? Plenty - from smashing internet cafes, to streets in flames from burning trash cans, to attacking innocent civilians and the Israel Police. This is not a secular vs. religious issue, because each sector(s) have gotten out of control. I say this as an Orthodox Jew who thinks you are just not telling the truth here.
19. You are right #18
AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (06.24.12)
You are right. This is not a secular vs. religious issue. Do not let anyone put a wedge between you, And anyone who tries to may not have the best interest of Israel in his mind.
20. The right to protest
Arnold ,   Canada   (06.24.12)
Where does the right to march and protest in the streets say you can destroy private property while protesting. Same thing happens here in Montreal. And when the police need to be brought in to "serve and protect" the protesters / anarchists riot even more and then claim violence against them. This is an example of democracy being hijacked .
21. Leef is a woman with an ego & no understanding of economics
zionist forever   (06.24.12)
Last year was spontaneous and a unique situation which cannot be recreated artificially which is what Leef is trying to do. She can get her core supporters ( the rioters ) and some members of the general public but there is no way she is ever going to get huge numbers through an organised protest. She thinks she can dictate government economic policy and just doesn't understand the idea of a free market. She wants employers to raise salaries but she doesn't understand the fact that they are under no obligation to do so and employers care about profits more than employees. Leef is not the law and if the municipality won't let her set up tents well she has to accept she is not allowed to set up tents and she cannot do it anyway. Leef is a nobody whose ego is bigger than her sense of reality.
22. Say "yes" to class action suits against culprits & sponsors.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.24.12)
The author is 100% correct. Say "no" to anarchy. At the same time, say "yes" to class action lawsuits against the violent leftist culprits and their sponsors. Countless people are suffering because of their despicable actions. The guilty must be held fully accountable.
23. #10. In case you didn't notice, there is no green line.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.12)
#10 Avramele. In case you didn't notice, there is no green line. Would you like to prove me wrong? Take a photograph of it. Show it to me. It's completely imaginary, Avramele. This tiny land is Israel. All of it.
24. to 21
a woman ,   jerusalem   (06.24.12)
your sense of reality that Leef is nobody and you are the z..forever ..you have no sense no reality ,,,no one will be forever and any one is someone with a sense ..and reality is in my pocket but i do not tell it but she want to say
25. Wrong again...
Steve ,   Denver,CO   (06.25.12)
No different than American ”Occupiers” organized by Bill Clinton so stop the lies. No they are nothing new as the very same ”Communosocialists” millions died fighting against. Yes we,have seen and heard enough and ”liberals” are the same ”Social” Democrats we just add an S for students or stupidity just like the,Useful Idiots they are. See their morally and intellectually bankrupt future they offer in CA and Ny today going down the tubes for good. No, we have seen enough from these losers that will never be,”heard” enough until we capitulate to their lying, cheating scams. I bet this gets censored and,am not holding my breath for these ”humanitarian, MLK and free speech” frauds at every turn. It's called,Reality, and it's proving out you self hating ”liberals” as all you are.
26. Tell the same to the settlers!!!
Shimon ,   New York   (06.25.12)
27. @23 the occupation is a reality
Bar Mor   (06.25.12)
All borders are of course artificial but people are not. There is a Palestinian people whom we rule against their will. They like us are not leaving. My preference is two states for two peoples. My preference is an israel that is Jewish and democratic with a single rule of law for all citizens Jews and Arabs. My preference is for a secular society with freedom of religion for all. But obviously you and I live on different planets.
28. Unless is haredim
Peter ,   israel   (06.25.12)
Unless is haredim burning garbage and car wheels, that a ok?
29. #27. "Occupation" is lingo of ever declining left.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.25.12)
#27. "Occupation" is far from a reality. It is the lingo of the ever declining far left. Judea and Samaria have rightfully belonged to Jews for more than 3,500 years and always will. Countless international law experts have incontrovertibly proven Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. These include Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242 and Prof. David M. Phillips, Northeastern University School of Law. "Palestinians" are poseurs and frauds. There never was a Palestine, on our land, and never will be one.
30. Those who broke windows etc were a small minority
Golda ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
Yoaz Hendel used to work for Bibi Netanyahu and is part of a clique of right-wingers from Bar Ilan University. A small minority of thousands of demonstrators in Tel Aviv committed acts of vandalism, for which there is no excuse and which I wholehearedly comdemn. However, Mr Hendel exagerates their impact and also neglects to mention that the police at an earlier demonstration acted with excess force and violence. The pictures are on the Internet.
