The local Arabs just put up more and more houses, machsanim and any other structures they see fit all over previously barren hills as well as high rises which today can be see from all the main roads of the country. Also "occupation" is not a correct term. Israel was repeatedly attacked and endangered by Arab armies from the "West Bank" and Gaza region which were lands in no formal ownership of any sovereign country, and this remains the true legal position today. Lands taken over in a war of defence which Israel won could more correctly be described as "conquered" but were part of the lands meant for the Jewish state when TRANSJORDAN was formed by the Western powers and Britain in the last century. To this day Jordan is not a viable state if not supported by annual donations of money by Europe, USA etc.
