1. Ron Ben-Yishai, why state the obvious?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (06.25.12)
We all know this and it doesn't matter what Government is in power in Israel. Anyone who hasn't noticed the deterioration of Israel-Egypt relations, even before the fall of Mubarak, is either a fool or completely naive!
2. the Authour is misinformed
Yousef ,   Palestine,Hebron   (06.25.12)
infidels like us.... you are not infidles you are believers of God like us and yu have a sacred book too , try to be objective , occupation and politics is another story regardless of Islam religion
3. Iran is in Egypt today...Jordan will fall as well as Syria
Al   (06.25.12)
Like I've siad many times Assad would be best to stay in Syria for a long time to come. What will replace him is not good. The delusional west mouth the same drivel as the author of this article ..democracy BS. You are being delusional..The Arabs go back to what they do best...keeping themselves in the 12th century while the Jews go back what they do best...telling themselves stories of peace and democracy. The point is the west is on its way out. The Arabs/Moslems have tanked Europe, are making inroads into Canada USA esp Quebec and are a pain in the ass to China and Russia. America is tanking and will be hard pressed to finance the nonsense of the past 60 years. America will pare down its military presence in the world as other powers try to muscle in.
4. Three comments
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (06.25.12)
The Mubarak regime was not friendly to Israel. He armed Egypt to the teeth for the inevitable war, taught two generations of Egyptians that Israel is illegitimate and must be destroyed, and worked tirelessly to take away Israel's strategic weapons that Mubarak believed were Israel's strongest card in the war. The Israeli's government decision to import Arafat to Israel, arm him, give him legitimacy and then install the Hamas government in Gaza with access to Sinai was not an innocent political choice or tactical blunder, it was strategic idiocy that now endangers Israel's existence. The messianic concept of "land for peace" has once again proven to be totally wrong: Israel's surrender of her territory only encourages aggression. Are all Leftists blinded by their messianic faith, or is there any sane Leftist who will come out of the closet admit he was wrong? When will Netanyahu realize that his job is to save Israel, not follow the dictates of hostile foreign groups?
5. Article would have been even more salient had you written:
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (06.25.12)
Hence, Egypt’s Islamization constitutes a very negative harbinger for secular regimes not only in Lebanon and in Syria but also in Jordan and in the Palestinian Authority -- and Israel!!! Yousef is (unsurprisingly) mistaken. It's WIDELY known that Muslim Arabs regard Israel's secular gov't as "the little Satan," i.e., infidel. I've been telling you for years and you STILL can't see it. Ultra-Orthodox fanatics, misrepresenting khilul ha-Sheim as Torah, are killing the chances for the only legitimate claimants here, moderate Jews, because the opposite extreme, secular Israeli gov't, has no legitimate claim to this land, no legitimate right to this land and ha-Sheim is ensuring that there will be no chance for a secular gov't to survive in His Holy Land among religious Muslims neighboring this land. Wakey, wakey! You're decades overdue.
6. The Muslim Caliphate...
Jake Stone ,   USA   (06.25.12)
...is quickly forming, but will, eventually, be destroyed by the God of Israel!
7. Piece of advice to all us Israelis: put off any home-renova-
tom ,   tel aviv   (06.25.12)
tions you've been planing in the close future. Not worth painting that ceiling when chances are, you'll be putting up a new roof soon! -That is: if you're lucky to be among the surviving citizens.... Scare monger am I? Really?
8. We stand alone (ALWAYS have)
Shalom ,   Ashdod, IL   (06.25.12)
Everything is falling in place that these are the end of days when Israel has to stand ALONE and rely ONLY on Hashem. That is right, not on the White House or on stinking Europe. It does not make a difference who rules what, the important thing is for us to unite behind the ONLY protector of our people. If we listened to your logic, the state would NEVER have been established in 1948. In other words, odds do not matter as long as we look to the right place for protection.
9. Yousef @2
Steve   (06.25.12)
Yousef, you say we have a sacred book too but you should know (if you are a Muslim) Islam holds that our scribes perverted (changed things in) our book, so that the Torah we have today is not the same Torah Moses gave. You say we are believers in God like you. Do you believe in the God of Israel? You say the conflict is about occupation and politics regardless of the religion of Islam. But if you are a good Muslim, you know it is all about religion because Islam cannot accept a Jewish state in the region, no matter the borders. You know this, do you not?
10. Paqid #5
Steve   (06.25.12)
You say it's widely known that Muslim Arabs regard Israel's secular gov't as "the little Satan," i.e., infidel and that the only legitimate claimants here are moderate (Torah observant?) Jews. Are you suggesting that were Israel governed and peopled by God-fearing, moderate Jews, the Muslim world would not consider the Jews illegitimate claimants?
11. #7 piece of advice
(06.25.12)
If you want to survive, move to Judea, Binyamin or Samaria. Then again, maybe you are right. When the rockets fall on Tel Aviv, Netanyahu will probably send YSM to destroy Jewish homes.
12. It seems that the Obama-Islamist plans
al   (06.25.12)
are going exactly as planned.
13. Emphasize what moderate religious Jews and Muslims can share
Paqid Yirmeyahu ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (06.25.12)
There are some moderate Muslims, including a few scholars, who find in their own Quran support for Biblical Israel inhabiting, uh, Biblical Israel. Certainly, such sympathetic potential deserves, and it's in our own interests, to strive to measure up to our own definition (instead of joining the bandwagon to lower the standard of basest of goyim and infuriate both Muslims and decent Jews). But when they're faced with a secular "Israel" face of homosexuals and hedonists, on the one hand, or the feces-throwing Europeanist Ultra-Orthodox Khareidim face of "Israel" on the other, they cannot defend that from the point of view of a Biblical Israel because each is a contradiction intractably incompatible with, and mutually exclusive of, Torah and Biblical Israel. There exists no defense for it! Further -- MUCH further -- being steered by moderate Y'rei ha-Sheim Yehudim would transform how we behave relative to flouting perversions repugnant to Muslims, because we share that repugnance. There are many things that moderate Y'rei ha-Sheim Yehudim share with moderate Muslims but, so far, we've done a masterful job, a masterfully stupid job, of ensuring that what we share with Muslims is excluded from the equation and from our mutual (Muslim and Jew) interest. Perversion and hedonism win even over survival interests! Torah is about behavior, and our behavior, particularly at BOTH extremes, is not serving us well, to put it charitably. Flouting perversions and hedonism is a winner in most of the world. But not in the Middle East. From the beginning of "Arab Spring," I urged support for the Arab peoples to determine their own leaders, despite what that may bring. It is their right and I will continue to maintain that position. Of course, that comes with the converse: the Egyptian people are now accountable for their elected leaders actions -- like the Gazans. I congratulate the Egyptian people on asserting their will in determining their own leaders and convey my wishes to maintain peace between us. Those who would have supported the dictatorial secular Egyptian government would have brought even more ill will, and desire for revenge, down on our heads. We could do a LOT more to emphasize religious values that we share with Muslims. We should. But we need moderate dati Jews to become adamant and assertive.
14. #11 is right.
Steve   (06.25.12)
What is Prime Minister Netanyahu's response to the Islamization of Egypt, the greater Middle East and North Africa? Why, expel Jews from their homes; from our God-given land of Israel. That will teach them!

You wrote: "I dont believe in the God of Israel There is only one god who controls all the world. If there are many Gods in the world for each people they will strike each other and their people too..." You might enjoy reading Elijah's confrontation with the prophets of Baal in 1Kings chapter 18, beginning in particular at verse 19 or there about. I am not telling you that you must believe it but it addresses your point and it offers interesting reading.
17. What are the Egyptians going to eat?
Sidney ,   USA   (06.25.12)
"Egypt is reported to be the world’s largest importer of wheat. In 2010, the oil minister stated that Egypt imports 40% of its food, and 60% of its wheat." If they want to make war on Israel, the U.S. will cut off their free food and no other country will replace it. They can't afford to buy food on the open market as their economy is not productive enough.
18. Egypt's New Islamic Government
ltrail ,   United States   (06.25.12)
Although the MB command the Egyptian Streets, it does not necessarily mean that it controls the hearts and minds of the Citizens of Egypt. Egypt's people have had many years of peace (excluding the Gaza palestinian issue) and would like many more years of peace with Israel, to come. Peace brings economic prosperity and development. It would behoove the MB and its newly-founded government to tread lightly and carefully. The Peace agreement between Israel and Egypt will be reviewed and, hopefully, continued.
19. #2 Hamas is always quoting the Hadith
Netanya ,   Netanya   (06.25.12)
Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 176: Narrated by 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, 'O 'Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.'" Sahih Bukhari Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177: Narrated by Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him." The Sahih Bukhari are the most authentic hadiths for the Muslims. This is one of the main reasons they give for killing us. In USA, an Israeli gave a speech in a university, a girl stood up and defended Hamas and the speaker asked her if she agreed or disagreed with the statement, "The Jews gathering in Israel is good so it will be easier to kill them" And the Muslim girl said "YES"
20. Fear Not -- Mohamed Morsi will be Egypt's Barack Obama
Jake ,   USA   (06.25.12)
The brainwashed masses voted him into power with the loftiest of expectations. There is a healthy 48% constituency that will oppose him on every move, and he will accomplish nothing, just like Barack Obama.
21. Paqid Yirmeyahu is 1000% correct
Jake ,   USA   (06.25.12)
Have a conversation with an educated God-fearing Muslim, and you will find that they agree with everything Paqid is saying. When faced with the option of supporting atheist Jews, or radical extremist Haredim, they choose neither. However they have a great deal of respect for open-minded Torah-observant Jews -- even those who passionately defend Jewish rights to the land of Israel and reject the creation of Palestine.

We believe that jews also warship god and we honor mozes and all ibraham family,, agree with u we believe that torah was minipulated,, but still when islam came jews were supposed to be the closest to muslems as still ur believes is the closest to islam and we share many things in prayers fasting and in bloodline we r very alike ,,, But we agree with u that, the jewish return to jerusalem and the way u treat muslems and butcher kids ,,will lead if not today or tommorow say 50 years from now to an ending war between us,,, and with all respect god of israel is same god of jesus and muhamad,,,and also God of the week nd merci not god of war and blood

lets imagine that the jewish occupation of 1948 ended that jews behave nice to palestinians and that every one had rights and it ended up being a nation of attraction of cultures instead of repution and refugee camps in egypt nd jordon full of palestinians..this by the way happened in marrocco and andalussia and ottoman empire ,,when we had the power we did not shed ur blood
25. Netanya (06.25.12)
omar ,   egypt   (06.26.12)
yes it is in our books ,,but when i say for example if u go take a city and kill people make masacres and shed blood and war make atomic bombs,,, one day when u r week enough everything will end up againest u ,, this is the same ,,it doesnt accually need a creative mind to imagine the future,, as the days we live shape the next 100 future years
26. Yousef: Elijah's confrontation with the prophets of Baal.
Steve   (06.26.12)
OK, you say these are what "You (not me but Islam holds that) the Jewish scribes perverted." I do not believe it is true, yet authoritative Islam holds that the Jews altered the words in our Bible. For example in the book of Genesis where Abraham took his son Isaac to sacrifice him to God, Islam holds that Abraham took Ishmael. For those who have not read this confrontation, here I will quote from the 18th chapter of the first book of Kings: Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD (YHWH) is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." But the people did not answer him a word.... What Elijah is saying is this. If the LORD, the God of Israel, is God follow Him. If Baal, Allah, Molech or any number of gods that people worship is God, follow them.

Steve   (06.26.12)
Correct me if you think I am wrong. You say: "...with all respect, the God of Israel is the same God (as the God) of Jesus and Muhammad,,,and also (he is) the God of the weak and a God of mercy; not god of war and blood(shed)." After the 9/11/2001 attacks in New York and Washington I began a long-overdue study of Islam and its teachings. I've got three of the best English translations of the Qur'an, including Abdullah Yusuf Ali and his commentary. Correct me if I am wrong. You say God (Allah) is a god of mercy but I see no mercy toward the unbeliever no matter how righteous or decent he or she may be. Allah is only merciful to the Muslim believer. I see hell-fire for the unbeliever in the world to come. Muhammad commanded Muslims to wage war (jihad) on unbelievers until the entire world either converts to Islam or submits to its authority. The "people of the book" (Jews and Christians) it is true, we are granted a better status under Islam than "pagans," but still we must submit to Islam's rule and pay the jizya (poll tax) and we must "feel ourselves subdued." There is no equality (according to Islam) between the Muslim believer and the non-Muslim (the non-believer). Israel would like to be accepted as an equal in the Muslim world but that can never be because Israel is full of "unbelieving" Jews. Am I wrong?
28. #25, stop lying to yourself, Israel does not want war.
Jake ,   USA   (06.26.12)
Israel is a nation with set borders, from the Jordan river to the Mediterranean sea. Israel only has atomic bombs because her neighbors don't accept her presence in their midst. Why do you repeat the lie that Israel wants war? We both know this is not true. Israel fervently wants peace, but she won't compromise on her legal, moral, and historical rights, to settle and defend her ancestral homeland. I hope that one day your people can respect my peoples' 3800 year history in the land of Israel, and extend your hand in peace, as we have done for 64 years. Shalom.
