DavidR ,   USA   (06.26.12)
He brings trade partners, billionaires to IRAN in exchange for oil. "help" the Arabs fight Israel get it?" No, I don't get it! You believe that helping the Arabs fight Israel is a good thing for Israel? "help" the Iranians build their nuclear reactor." You believe that is good for Israel? Your remaining two on your list, voted yes for Israel. So what, so did 32 other nations. It is good but I don't believe they would do it today. Didn't you read Putins comments to Abu Mazen this morning. They recognize a non existent Palestinian State and believe that Abu Mazen is doing a fine job in seeking peace? Safty for Jews in Russia? First, it is his responsibility. They are Russian citizens. Furthermore you will have to give some evidence of that one. I frankly do not believe it. You need to pull your head out of the orifice where you have hidden it and come up for air. RUSSIA, AND PUTIN IS THE ENEMY OF ISRAEL!
32. Two States - No !
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (06.26.12)
There will not be two states in the Holy Land. President Putin is doing a good job on the peacemaking front, but on this decision he has erred.
33. I can answer that, but i don't want the iranians to know
Iranian Hunter   (06.26.12)
Let me just say that, don't believe everything what you see. The front page with "what happened behind back door" are not the same. It is wise to distrust Russia, but try to understand that, Russia deserves acknowledgements for it's support for Israel, many of which are not exposed, in purpose. Call me blind and too hopeful, but i know what i am talking about.
34. No need for PA state
Brod ,   USA   (06.26.12)
A PA state is the destruction of Israel. Judea and Samaria belong to Israel since ancient time.
35. Iranian hunter
anton ,   Istanbul   (06.26.12)
Man you cracked me up hahahaha :D your reaosining is pricesless, loved it :D please dont let iranians learn your secret infos :D
36. Russia has no problem;Hamas,Fatah,Iran,Syria..
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (06.26.12)
They all need Russia to' go against Israel;Putin will have to' learn the Pharaon lesson.... Russia is against USA and Israel, and will do what he can to destroy them. The world is stil in 2 blocks...good and bad;and Putin has choosen the bad path...
37. # 15...are you new that you don't know what
Edithann ,   USA   (06.26.12)
Ynet talkbacks is all about? These are right winger's who live in fantasy world as warriors of all they've stolen.... TATA
38. #1 Sarah B - Excellent idea - It should become
Tracy W   (06.26.12)
a real online movement spearheaded by Jews fed up with other countries meddling into Israeli affairs. Every one of those countries trying to partition Israel has oppressed minorities (real ethnic groups, not ersatz ones) or occupied territories clamoring for independence. It's time for Jews to reciprocate with the same message.
39. Majority of"Pals"surveyed do NOT want peaceful coexistence
PETER SM ,   JERUSALEM ISRAEL   (06.26.12)
Side by side with Israel any Israel. If Abbas wanted a state he would turn up to negotiate, he has been evading negotiations for years instead of settling all the outstanding issues Truth is he cannot deliver on any promises on the major issues.
40. Israel would be wise to adopt Putin's thinking.
Michael ,   California, USA   (06.26.12)
1. Multi-state solution; 2. Security through strength, not territories; 3. Equality to minorities, end to apartheid; 4. Respect for cultures and their differences;
41. HARD CHOICES
David ,   New York, NY   (06.26.12)
Some "inside baseball": Putin Street was not the PA"s first choice or even their second. Their first choice was "Stalin Street." After due deliberation that was wisely abandoned in favor of RCA Street (an acronym for "Russian Civilian Aviation"). Then that was abandoned and finally they settled on "Putin Street" which has a nice patronizing ring to it.
42. Russia's main goal is to keep Middle east in a brink of war
Oleg ,   USA   (06.26.12)
that way the oil price will stay high (Oil is their main source of income) and they will be able to sell their outdated military equipment. The whole Russian policy is how to make a couple bucks for Putin's KGB friends.
43. #5
Harold ,   USA   (06.26.12)
You mean Israel occupy the territory, not Russia, USA or EU. The world recognize only Israel's 1948 borders.
44. #6
Harold ,   USA   (06.26.12)
LOL. If Abbas is a KGB agent then why none of any Israeli leader is assassinated. Wise-up
45. President Putin: Dividing Jerusalem will lead to Armageddon
Rivkah   (06.26.12)
The Palestinians who will not live in peace under a Jewish State must be relocated to other Muslim Arabic speaking nations, of which there are many. That is the only way to delay or avert Armageddon where 94% of the Russian and Islamic nations' armies that attack Israel will perish.
46. #35 This is coming from c ountry of er-dog-an
Iranian Hunter   (06.26.12)
Your PM, er-dog-an cracks me up, he should be quiet and takes what Assad is giving him like a good dog. And yes, things can changes faster than you can say "to hell with immam Ali and praise Yazid" Just look at Syria and Turkey now ^_^
47. To: No. 43
Sarah B ,   U.S.a. / Israel   (06.26.12)
What the world does and does not recognize is largely irrelevant. And world opinion did not stop Israel from unifying Jerusalem or annexing the Golan Heights. So who cares? Do you have any idea how many border disputes there are in the world?
48. To: No. 44
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.26.12)
Well, I suppose it could be because they can't GET to any Israeli leader. Or because they know that there will be hell to pay for so much as even attempting to assassinate an Israeli leader. Wise up!
49. A notice ,...
split ,   US   (06.26.12)
Unlike yesterday the kids that greeted Putin today look like a natives from that part of the world ,...
50. #11 - true, but you miss an important point here
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
1) Russia considers Chechens part of the Russian Federation while Chechens want independence - something the Kremlin opposes violently. Israel neither considers "Palestinians" part of the Israeli people nor want them to be part of the State. 2) Chechens, as a whole, are not working to destroy Russia and turn it into a Greater Chechen Islamist State. "Palestinians" have made their intentions known, by majority, that they support terrorism against Israel and do consider Israel a transplant that needs to be destroyed and replaced by an Arab State. A final point - despite a greater magnitude of terrorism and rockets coming from the "Palestinians" than into Russia by the Chechens, Israel's response is but a small fraction of the response Russian had in Chechnya. Had Israel behaved like Russia, Gaza would have become a parking lot after the first barrage of rockets into Israel in 2002.
51. #14 - "Palestinians" and Syrians are Customers
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
and part of the Russia sphere of influence which wants to remain strong in the ME. Nothing has changed from Soviet times.
52. #15 - that's because you show up periodically
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
and don't bother yourself with day-to-day events like the reports of Islamic Jihad and Hamas schools training children to dress and extol suicide bombers. Perhaps you should read Al-Manar, Maan, and the Hamas-based news service and you'll (hopefully) come to the same conclusion that peace doesn't look likely. My guess is - you'll read their racist filth then return to blame their monster acts on Israel because "Palestinians were always a peaceful people", right?
53. A double-edged sword for Abbas
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
Putin said he supports a "Palestinian" State but he didn't say it would be in place of Israel nor undermine the security of Israel. So, Putin didn't exactly deliver a vote of confidence to Abbas' position. He only reiterated what many global leaders have said before - a "Palestinian" State alongside Israel, with special attention to Israel's security, and a final agreement that ends the conflict once and for all.
54. #37 - we have the land deeds....
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
and they don't. Which one do you think will hold up in court, dear? Of course, you support the court of law only when it agrees with you. Fortunately, not this time.
55. #43 - Israel's 1948 borders are a moot point
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
Israel is the only nation in the world that is demanded to return to days before victory in genocidal wars against her by the global population, to appease the "victim" instigators of that war. Prove me wrong, Harold. At this point, 1948 borders do not matter any more. Right now, the only borders that do somewhat matter is the 1949 Armistice Agreement ceasefire borders but, as per the agreement, these are not to be used as a border nor basis for negotiations on one. And of course, the UNR242 authors made it clear they never demanded Israel return to those pre-1967 borders. And finally, since the 1973 war was again thrown on Israel, the annexation of the Golan, both for security reasons and because of the Jewish-centric history there, is also a moot point.
56. #44 - because Abbas would be killed in 1/2 second
William ,   Israel   (06.26.12)
and the PLO/PA would be history be day's end. They know Israel's power and seek to instigate it just to the edge before no return.
57. No problem for me either...
Sam America ,   Jerusalem   (06.26.12)
...I'm a Jew living in Israel, and I would WELCOME a Palestinian state. Or one big state, even with a majority Palestinian. I think they are very nice people and they certainly have every right to live here and be citizens of their country. And the right wing Israelis have been very mean to them, not like me.
58. Which NGO or UNWRA branch is paying for the fancy outfits?
PETER SM ,   JERUSALEM ISRAEL   (06.26.12)
Over or under the table, while they starve in Africa?
59. Unilateral missiles and incitement "not constructive."
Carl ,   USA   (06.26.12)
Somebody should remind Putin of all the actions his friend Abbas has refused, like not teaching Palestinian children to hate, ceasing incitement, and not committing terrorist actions that are contrary to peace.
60. #43 On this issue I agree with Sarah B at #47
Sam ,   Canada   (06.26.12)
Palestinians reject peace because they are waiting for someone to give them all of Israel. That's what they mean by occupied territory. Russia and the West are too dumb to realize the Palestinians are leading them by the nose. They can wait while Jews build the Jewish homeland. Anyone who wants the territory will have to go get it. The Quartet are not about to invade Israel.
