Obama's visit to Israel during his candidacy was a blatant attempt to win Jewish votes, which are key to winning elections in the swing states. He showed his true colors -- and sentiments -- following the election with his incessant bullying of the State of Israel. The mid-term elections in 2010 should have taught him a lesson, but he is clearly oblivious to the message being sent to him by the people of the United States. And your statement that there is one set of rules for Israel is quite correct, but not in the sense you intended. How many countries are forced to negotiate with terrorists? How many countries are constantly being told that they must give up the spoils of wars which they did not start yet from which they emerged victorious? The visceral hatred of Obama extends far beyond Israel. Obama is a bumbling fool with a private agenda that does not serve anyone in good stead. He'll discover that come November. But how many allies will America have lost by then?

On this board everyone is naturally focused on Israel and the Middle East, but this is not Obama's focus. I would guess that in a 24-hour day, the Middle East takes up one hour (not counting Iraq and Afghanistan) of Obama's attention. The U.S. takes up at least half of Obama's time, much more time than the M.E. and Israel within it. The Middle East is important, but not very much.

"Ignorance" is the kindest excuse for the policies of the Obama Administration, "Deviousness" would be much more appropriate. Obama's attitude, policies and intentions toward the Muslim countries and Israel have been displayed from the start, but he has been successful in getting people, particularly liberal American Jews, to listen to what he says, rather than look at what he does. His "undying support" for Israel will die a quick death immediately after the election, when the contributions and votes of American Jews are no longer needed. His affinity and support for the Muslim Brotherhood, already evident, will become the basis for an openly anti-Israel US foreign policy in the Middle East. The "ignorance" has not been on the part of Obama and his administration, but rather, on the part of his American Jewish supporters.

As far as political realities go, yes, he's inept and foolish.
