I agree with you, except on one small point of fact. Non Jews can and do immigrate to Israel. The Black Hebrews by Dimona are a large example, but there are others. For a non Jew it is not easy (requires proof of ability to support oneself, being able to speak Hebrew, etc.) but it is doable. Actually not a whole lot harder than getting US or Canadian Citizenship The point of Israel being a homeland and refuge for Jews is that Immigration and citizenship are automatic, no matter what.
