1. They don't speak vthe majority or minority
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (06.30.12)
Sure there are problems in Israel. The cost of living is high, especially in Tel Aviv. Rent is high, apartments are expensive, food is costs more. These are what the Europeans call "the problems of the well-off". The economy is good and unemployment is low. The protesters are now from the far left who want Israel to become a socialist state like Greece.
2. The government is acting like a tyrany?
Frank ,   Canada   (06.30.12)
Last time I checked, Bibi was elected. These fake social protesters want to create a tyranny of the street and more specifically, a tyranny of Leftist mobsters.
3. So where are the demands
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (06.30.12)
How can people decide if they are behind this movement if they do not know what is being demanded? After last week's riot and vandalism it is hard to back the protesters.
4. Stoners should at least contribute something...
Mark ,   Lodz (in Eretz)   (06.30.12)
...the State. President John Kennedy suggested to the American people : - "Don't ask what your country can do for you....ask what you can do for your country". The reason prices are high in Israel is due to the need to fund Zahal for a strong Israel... It comes with the turf.
5. if they are for real let them build a kibbutz in the negev
RALPH   (06.30.12)
other wise they are leftist parasites. spoiled kids who think they must get something without working or contributing.
6. Reminds me of...
Maurice ,   Montreal   (06.30.12)
...the recent and still ongoing demonstrations (and at times violent riots) by a bunch of spoiled students and anarchists in Quebec. Here in Quebec as well as in Israel these people represent a small minority, the majority of the people being against them.
7. Where is this proposed social contract? Where are their conc
Yossi ,   Rehovot   (06.30.12)
Where is this proposed social contract? Where are their concrete demands? Until these are disclosed how can we decided if we are behind them or not?
8. Everybody
Yossi ,   Rehovot   (06.30.12)
"Everybody, you get to work tomorrow to make money to give us. We want to loaf and party and we don't think it is fair if you don't pay for it."
9. israel the only country in the ME thats not a democracy
zionist forever   (06.30.12)
Who drafted this set of demands, who are the leaders of the social justice movement? The reason the protests surprised everybody last year was because it was spontaneous, it was ordinary people and there was no central leadership. If Leef is the leader who elected her to represent anybody or make any demands, I am not Bibi's biggest fan but he is at least elected and more than any other PM in history he has worked very hard to keep the economy stable which is especially hard considering the global economy is collapsing all around us. If Leef & co want to replace democracy with some kind of Bolshevik revolution and at a time when the arabs are getting a taste of democracy for the first time. Somebodey needs to remind Leef & her unelected rabble that the government needs to be more careful than ever when it comes to spending now because not only is the US $15 trillion in debt but now the Euro is fighting for its very survival and if that goes it will hit Israel very hard.
10. empty headed people with empty slogans
Golan ,   modiin   (06.30.12)
1st. there is too much government infringement in our lives 2nd government bureaucracy = higher costs 3rd. calling for more government is counter productive.
11. Why did you think this could not happen in Isreal
Joseph ,   u.s.a   (06.30.12)
This is going to happen in every country,we have the internet now.We are all puppets and resentfull of it.It may end up being a good thing.Power to the people, thats what I believe in.But keep your guns loaded just in case it turns into revolotion.
12. Tahrir, Tel-Aviv version
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (06.30.12)
No doubt about it. What we have here is Israel's version of Tahrir square - same mindless idiots shouting for something they know nothing about - and serving the interests of an aggressive and selfish culture.

16. Spoiled Brats!

ralph   (07.01.12)

18. Probably funded by NIF like peace now traitors.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.01.12)
19. As a person who vists israel often
jeff ,   uk   (07.01.12)
people there have it way better than here in london or new york, no clue what they yelling about, unemployment is low, people making money, cost of food is just as much here and in usa, cost of rent depends where you want to live, I hope there are counter protests to get these people to stop this nonsense
20. Stupid young people
Rozie   (07.01.12)
Thay are puppets of American George Soros and his propaganda machine. They are misguided young people. They believe in the Marxist system that has never worked anywhere.
21. Can you please explain - IF we are one of the most
vicky ,   ashkelon   (07.01.12)
democratic Countries in the world do we need to protest at what the majority voted for. These people are nothing more than a bunch of left wing facists who would like nothing more than to stop us all from voting and TOW the party line. Is that why we have suffered for 2,000 years of this type of life only to put OURSELVES back into it??? WAKE UP DEMONSTRATORS.
22. my social contract: im stoping paying taxes.
alex   (07.01.12)

23. What....
aline silverman ,   Israel   (07.01.12)
...were the banners " unnocupy Palestine" doing in a protest for "social justice" ?
24. across the board
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat, Israel   (07.01.12)
One of the things that impresses me about these protests is the across the board support by my Facebook friends from the right and the left. The leadership is chosen by those who chose to follow. I hope the leadership and the demands further develop. There will be disagreements with in the movement, that the government will try to exploit, but isn't that the reason for the movement itself?
25. #22 Alex - what are you joining the harideem?
Haim ,   TA   (07.01.12)

27. I am still trying to figure out what this is all about !
miri ,   israel   (07.01.12)
Bibi was elected PM by vote so if you believe there is someone out there who can do a better job, cast your vote for him in the next election. In our family we help support the youngsters until they are wholly capable of standing on their own two feet !
28. A bunch of foreign funded extremists
Daniel ,   TA - IL   (07.01.12)
trying to impose their paarsitic demands on us taxpayers. This has nothing to do with social justice but all with leftwing elites trying to bully us back into submission!
