it's not too late to correct the mistake: there should be no broad exemptions. the exemption for study is based on two mistaken notions: that yeshiva students are not good enough to be soldiers, and second, that somehow being religious conflicts with being in the army. obviously, neither one is correct. the defence of eretz yisrael is no less a mitzvah than prayer and study, and, if anything, is more urgent. we do not rely on miracles. 99.9% of the students in yeshiva are nothing special, ("average students".) if the remaining one in a thousand (and even that's high) were to be the only ones exempted, there would be no problem.

There is only one major flaw in your "genious" directives : Israel is a Jewish State, recognized by the world as such..And you can't deny that... But what makes Israel stand out these days, is almost a total secularism and endless civil unrests . Your advice seems to be living itself out by the lack of real education, endless strikes and economic downfall in Israel ...And the only thing, that will save our People and land, as well as the world, is to learn from our history and defend what is ours...
