1. Anti-Semitic Church again
NIgel ,   London   (07.11.12)
There is massive hypocricy in the reasons behind this decision. The MDFS movement is massively fuinded and a very powerful loggy group here. One of the Bishops said they went ahead with this absurd idea because Jews protested too much. What a sham.
2. visiting the west bank?
chaim ,   p.t. israel   (07.11.12)
why not have the plane re-routed to Syria, Libya or Yemen to see how Arab populations should be treated
3. Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams kissed Sudan's Bashi
ab   (07.11.12)
r on both cheeks (upper ones) during his visit to Khartoum in the midst of Dafur carnage. He wasn't calling for "Dafur experience " somehow. He is a plain bigot and antisemite
4. I would be shocked and appalled
Joseph ,   Netanya, Israel   (07.11.12)
If I hadn't seen dozens of Jewish groups do the exact same thing against the Palestinians. You can't have your cake and eat it too - you can't bring in groups of foreign Jews to get them to agree with your point of view and then get pissed when Anglican Palestinians do the same. Either be opposed to the practice or supportive of it - don't be hypocritical when you talk about it.
5. For 2000 years Christians have been persecuting Jews.
C.M.   (07.11.12)
Can it suddenly stop when it's in their DNA?
6. i left this anglican church this week
sean green ,   pasadena usa   (07.11.12)
between this crap and they gey marriage i get the idea they beive God likes whatever they desire even if is sin. A church can not bless a gay marriage anymore then a synagogue can bless a bacon sandwich
7. send them to Syria first!!!
Harry ,   Ashkelon   (07.11.12)
Let them experience life there for a while.
8. "Ashamed to be an Anglican" former Archbishop of Canterbury
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.11.12)
Archbishop of Canterbury,Archbishop Carey, watching the antics under the Williams leadership, wrote in a letter to the Times, made him ashamed to be an Anglican. Williams has also called for introduction of Sharia in Britain. Wonder what the Church policy is on Turkey? Are they sending people to Kurdistan?
9. the irony is refugee camps r british invention
ghostq   (07.11.12)
I reckon the Bishop needs to find out what is like for foreigner to live in British enviorment. pffffffffff
10. Dhimmitude
eddie ,   sa   (07.11.12)
Listen oh yea follow Christians! The Vicar of Baghdad, Canon Andrew White, decried the "culture of incitement against Jews and Christians" The arabs will only finance you mega building projects (the Shard etc.) if you tow their "peacefull" line with your traditional anti semitic line. But in spite of this it will NOT help you avoid the inevitable and you will also be under DHIMMITUDE one again soon . Your kow towing to the arab money will not help you avoid this because dhimmitude it is one of the fundementals of the arabs as history proved many times
11. Why the dismay - England corrupted the Balfour.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (07.11.12)
England again calls a 3-state as a 2-state, and fosters the transfer of the name Palestinian from Jews to Muslims. There is nothing dismaying of serial 2-state demands in the same land - its plain and simple a goal of genocide. At least the Nazis were honest about it.
12. Let them come, they can see life in the upscale malls too
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (07.11.12)
Life under "occupation" is not so bad for the Palestinians in the area known as the West Bank. Restaurants, shopping malls, upscale cars, a much better life than those of their brothers in Arab camps across the region. Heck even those in Gaza have the high class mall, olympic swimming pool and other luxuries. Maybe it is time that these people see that Israel is not oppressing the Palestinians nearly as much as Arabs are doing so.
13. DIsgusting.
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.11.12)
More reasons why Jews will never trust so called "Christians". They can't seem to ever get enough of murdering Jews.
14. Maybe a Counter Program . . .
emanon ,   USA   (07.11.12)
Maybe the Jewish organizations could offer a counter program: come experience life in Sedrot, where the get rockets falling as often as rain. Or how about trying to live as a Jew in Hebron or Safat?
15. Anglican Chuch worth 70 Billion Dollars
TheChatteringClasses ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.11.12)
A few years ago there was an article in the media that the Church of England's stock portfolio (invested by the governmetn of Britain ) totalled 70 Billion dollars ! More than the GDP of many countries interesting to know where their money is invested .P.S> the church has huge problems and is sharply divided on many issues and represents no more than perhaps 20% of English citizens
16. UK under God s wrath:cold, fire and iron bad economy
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome   (07.11.12)
United Kindom, the collapsing Kingdom of England is already seen in his end;bad economy, unemployment and most of all weather plagues ,freezing cold and fire and iron from His own youth citizens...all becouse of antisemitism against Israel and for having given to' Arabs God s Land promise to' the Jews...This is a profetic judgement from God to' England;this is only the biginning of the end of England and UK has we know it....
17. # 3
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (07.11.12)
Good job it was the upper ones because otherwise it really would have been awful.........
18. to #5 America+Germany built israel
to #5 ,   to#5   (07.11.12)
it comes from ignorance what ur saying, USA + Germany built up Israel, christian communities, unfortunately they are unaware of all unethical behaviors of the state of israel!
19. #1
max ,   UK   (07.11.12)
Your headline is not altogether untrue, but the Bishop whom you mention did vote against the motion and is actually trying to make a friendly and constructive point which you don't do justice to. However much the current Chief Rabbi, Board of Deputies and JLC choose to sound-off after the event and over a short period before, their mixed and left-wing messages over the years did too little to challenge EAPPI and BDS proponents before it came to the crunch and have encouraged them to believe that what they advocate is right, not immoral, as it actually is.
20. British Jews "slam"......
tiki ,   belgium   (07.11.12)
But what are they going to DO about it? Has it occured to them yet that the "risk of damaging Anglican Christian-Jewish relations" might be part of the plan????? The genetic Anti Semitic genie is out of the bottle and open anti-Israel/ Jewish politics is alowed & used without shame, but with pride! The world is looking for ways & excuses trying to get 'rid of the Jews once more! Make no mistake about it! NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Slowly but surely the veneer and false pretence is being peeled of! The 'plight of the Palestinians is the excuse...... Jew-hate the motive!
21. What is complexed
John Bull   (07.11.12)
about the occupation? Under International Law it is illegal And I think you will find that relations between Christians and normal decent british Jews will not be affected. The only people kicking up a stink are British Zionists who strangely do not have the courage of their convictions to move to Israel. (Prehaps Iran's pursuit of nuclear parity with Israel has something to do with it)
22. The Church, clearly, wants the Jews to stay...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.11.12)
... "in their place"... Sadly, fundamentally it appears nothing has changed over the centuries: Everyone else may speak out their minds, but the Jews.. As a result, elements in the Church have become active part of the UNHOLY TRINITY: Classic anti-Semites; "Progressive" anti-Jewish racists; and, 7th century-based Islamists. And, London has become the epictre of this amalgamation of elements whose only denominator is the drive to demonize Israel, to de-legitimize it, to seek its very demise, hence the demise of the tiny and only national home of the Jewish people as a whole.
23. #5 the Islamo-fascist!
sk ,   USA   (07.11.12)
24. Turning another cheek!!
Ehai ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (07.11.12)
On the one hand this Church of England program could be critiqued as coming purely from the Christian stance which abhors people's suffering in general. In this regard the are not turning their face away from the human condition but are engaging with it to contribute to its improvement. On the other hand this policy is clearly aimed at the Palestine/Israel problem. The Church of England has failed in shepherding their church into the highland pastures of true religion. Instead of taking on the world's abuse and mal-appropriation of Hebrew Scriptures, they are playing the pretentious game of following in blind faith. They are casting Israel as the oppressor rather than the liberator of the Middle-East. The are losing at home in England so the bishops (who live on fat salaries on comfortable estates) are turning their faces to the outside world. This means they can show what a bad place the world is...... whereas England therefore is paradise...... the country garden. Definitely the Chief Rabbi has done well to speak out against those cheeky bishops.
25. To Church of England: What about Tibet?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.11.12)
No, they would rather preach hatred against Jews than condemn the brutal and repressive Chinese occupation of Tibet! This action once again proves British Antisemitism as a fact and that their hatred of Jews is no different that of their friends in the EU let by Baroness Ashton. Yesterday we read about Arkia Airlines considering buying Airbuses made by the two leaders of Antisemitism in Europe: Britain and France. I hope they reconsider!
26. Doing what comes naturally
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.11.12)
After thousands of years of legalizing anti-Semitic sentiments, the Church is doing what it does best, de-legitimizing Jews, Judaism and truth.
27. #25. Yes very good comparison
M. Mir ,   Houston US of A   (07.11.12)
You people are at least as bad as the Chinese. Good to see you recognize that.
28. #4 joseph
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.11.12)
I think the point is that the Church of England is supporting these groups, a bit more on a higher plane than NGO’s, dontcha think?.
29. #18 noname - wrong
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.11.12)
First the French, then Germany and then the US helped Israel. But Israel built itself, something you are loathe to accept. You, however, are willfully unaware of the “unethical behaviors” (to say the least) of Hamas, Hezbollah and the PA. There is no law that forces a country to treat an enemy well that is sworn to destroy it.
30. #21 john
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.11.12)
There is no international law that forces a country to treat an enemy well that is sworn to destroy it, as if there was “peace in our time”. Once again you show how blind you are to facts. As expected.
