1. All Quiet on the Northern Front...
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (07.05.12)
It has been relatively all quiet on the Northern Front the last six years and bizrat hashem it will stay that way. However if push comes to shove and Israel needs to defend itself from attacks from Lebanon it will acquit itself well. The destruction to Lebanese assets will be great however and any "leader" in the Levant thinking about nefarious plans at the moment towards Israel should be very careful.
2. War after war NOT ethical: SECURE BIG ISRAEL (taken=BUFFERS)
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (07.05.12)
3. Retake South Lebanon Security Zone forever.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.05.12)
The source of virtually all Israel's problems with Lebanon was our moronic retreat from our South Lebanon Security Zone. If, and when, Israel is forced into another Lebanon War, we must retake it forever. End the lunacy of Israeli retreat.
4. You people are delusional if you think...
Marco ,   Spain   (07.05.12)
You can win a war with Lebanon. You may cause severe damage to Beirut, but Tel Aviv will suffer worse... The Lebanese are used to living under fire...Can the people of Tel Aviv survive the onslaught of Hezbollah missiles raining all over the place?
5. So now IDF'll stop caring more for enemies than own people ?
ab   (07.05.12)
Hopefully education " Before shooting call the lawyer" force-fed by the Lefties into spines of IDF officers will evaporate in time
6. Lebanon 2006
I'm Israeli 2 ,   Israel   (07.05.12)
All quiet on the border you nerds
7. Who will pay for it? American tax payers!
Mary   (07.05.12)
8. #4 YOU are delusional, numb skull. ...
Iranian Hunter   (07.05.12)
You probably believe Hezbollah won the war in 2006 like many Iranians and Hezbollah supporters do, but let me make it clear for you. It's propaganda, there is a reason why that fat kid is hiding like a rat.
9. LItani River
Steve ,   USA   (07.05.12)
This time the IDF needs to START at the Litani River and squeeze the Heszballistanis back to Israel. Block anything coming south (to cross the river). IDF infantry units will need to be there in force. Do not let Obama and Clinton talk you out of finishing the job. In fact, don't answer the phone till it's over! Let it ring. For the folks out there who will tell me "easy enough for you to talk, being in the US and safe"., I am an IDF vet., just too old to do anything now. We all have sacrificed and will unfortunately need to continue to do so for the survival of Israel.
10. #4 Marco
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (07.05.12)
What do you think, how long will it take IDF to destroy all of the infrastructure in Lebanon (electricity, water etc.)? Those Arabs are really stupid if they attack Israel one more time.
11. 4
(07.05.12)
remember, we have underground shelters and tight war rooms in every home and apartment. most and all lebanese do not! israel may suffer structural damage, but very few civilian casualties. yes, idf casualties, but with full force, beirut will be obliterated from the air and tank missiles. remember, all of the idf tanks are now fitted with anto armor and anti missile shields....not good for hizbullah.
12. marco
(07.05.12)
2006. only 5% of power used by israel 2012- on 100% will be used and the gloves are off. after the goldstone report, israel won't give a shit about world opinion. they'll go full force in and finish the job without any push or listening to the un asking for cease fires. not this time.
13. Just talk by the brave Israeliman
Sarah B (No not that   (07.05.12)
Only last week Ynet was reporting that the army would not be able to mount any meaningful attack on Lebanon. The Israeliman speaks brave words, but the reality is that Russia have just said they are delivering the S-300 to Iran, and Syria. The Saudis own the S 400 which can close down Israeli airspace. Israel has been used to attacking enemies incapable of defending themselves, well that is changing, Israeli mothers will be squealing son enough for their kids to be pulled out of the Lebanese mire. Ceasefire after a week, and a withdrawal of Israel from Lebanon, this time minus our tanks. Hezbollah have made it perfectly clear if we stay out of Lebanon they will stay out of Israel. Lets listen for once.
14. israel demographics
fiofi ,   america   (07.05.12)
they encourage america's demography to change but does everything possible to preserve theirs.
15. #4, Lebanese are used to war, but not Israelis? Get a clue!
Jake ,   USA   (07.05.12)
16. not good enough warning
chaim.s 54st ,   brooklyn ny   (07.05.12)
israel must make it perfectly clear to Lebanon, that in case of a full scale war, Beirut and the rest of the bigger cities, will be carpet bombed and will look like Berlin and Dresden after world war two
17. funny
philip ,   beirut   (07.05.12)
if beirut is touched we will all back hizbollah and tel aviv will turn to rubble . so keep dreaming guys and try to achieve peace because time is running against you..shalom
18. this idf officer should be considered for promotion
mohson   (07.05.12)
When hezbollah on the urging of the nada killers kameinie and ahmadinejad sabjourian(jewish origin) fires 2000 rockets a day on the first 10 days, israel has to let it fly and basically destroy and incinerate town after town, totally. No olmert white flag wimp a few thousand troops on bint jbeil oh my god. and no listening to the US who always restrains israel. In themeantime, I urge rafael to work triple shifting to rush another 8 iron domes to the field, because barak is disconnected and bibi sweats uncertainty.
19. Another day, another junky war talk.
Michael ,   California, USA   (07.05.12)
Please, Ynet, give us more stories from supermarkets in Maale Adumim or even from Kiriat Shmone. Every child knows that preparations for war are not announced to the press for publication. So why were those IDF commanders talking from Galil to Ynet? I'll tell you why: they are preparing for peace with Hezbollah. Wasn't it Clausevitz who said "talk about war while thinking about peace"? Nice trick, commanders, very nice, and don't hesitate to wave an olive branch next time you talk to the press.
20. "We won't fire first"
Nina ,   NYC   (07.05.12)
Seriously? You just did a few days ago ad per your own newspapers.
21. # 4 "I am an IDF vet., just too old to do anything now."
Nina ,   NYC   (07.05.12)
So why are you in US? Welfare?
22. now now
freddy ,   USA   (07.05.12)
do you have any idea what a small percentage of the overall money the US budgets that goes for foreign aid? And in that money, a lot goes to Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and yes: the Palestinians.
23. YOU ALL FORGOT THE WINNING WEAPON
...DACON9   (07.05.12)
THE ONE GD OF ISRAELALWAYS MADE SURE ISRAEL SURVIVES AS iSRAEL HAS FOR 4000 YEARS..
24. #4, #5
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (07.05.12)
#4 Hezbolla are Shia. Without Syria, the Sunni will murder the Shia and Hezbolla will be finished. #5 unless Israel gets a Zionist leader, the next war will be a repeat of Lebanon I and Cast Lead. The IDF will have major successes. The extreme Left cells will be activated to demoralize and delegitimize IDF. Eventually thanks to the Left military victory will turn into a strategic defeat.
25. #7 Mary Mary quite contrary
Habib Seliman ,   New York, USA   (07.05.12)
Why would American tax payers pay for it? Israel receives grant and loan assistance. They have always paid back the loans (interest & principal) and the grants stipulate that the funding must be spent on US manufactured goods and services. To further educate you, pick up any business publication in the free world in any language and on a monthly basis you will see American technology companies either acquiring technologies developed in Israel or acquiring Israeli companies entirely. The cost of these acquisitions are very similar to the cost of doing in the US. So Mary tell us why?
26. #3 Chaim, don't stop there.
Jake ,   USA   (07.05.12)
Gaza must either be annexed by a peaceful Egypt, or re-captured along with the Sinai peninsula if Egypt makes a masochist decision to wage war on Israel. Needless to say, the treacherous Oslo accords (destroy-Israel-piece-by-piece-process) must be abolished at once, and the PA cronies given the option of peaceful autonomous rule or immediate expulsion. The Land of Israel is NOT for sale. End the madness at once!
27. #7, I don't support aid to anyone -- but...
Jake ,   USA   (07.05.12)
...aid to Israel is money very well spent.
28. Anonymous @12
marc ,   belgium   (07.05.12)
In this war, Israel dropped in the first three weeks of this war 400,000 cluster bombs, and in the last 3 days of this war 4,000,000 cluster bombs on Lebanon, a country with 4,017,095 inhabitants in 2009. What was the intent of this dubious act during this war?
29. Nina I'm not #4
Steve ,   USA   (07.06.12)
I am not #4 I was #9. I said "I am too old to do anything now" (fight). what does that have to do with me being in the US? And why does that mean I'm on welfare? I've worked since the age of 15 and except for my time in the 202nd Paratroops and Chativa 35, I've worked ever since. I was born in the US, served in the IDF (35 years ago) and now live here. Your address says NYC I see. What gives you the right to say anything about my service or why I'm here? Get a life Nina and perhaps visit someplace else besides NYC. I knew someone would say something stupid? The ants always come out of their holes when baited!
30. #11
Sophie ,   Merkaz   (07.06.12)
I don't have neither a shelter in my building nor a safe room in my appartment..... there isn't even one in the long street where I live in Tel Aviv. And yes I am worried and not as sure as you are #11 - and I am fed up to go thru war every 5/6/7 years. It is "ALSO" up to our government to make sure that this situation doesn't go on for decades to come and find finally a way to conclude peace. You must be 2 to tango!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's face it Bibi and his ministers are too busy to keep their position than to worry for the people
