1. Advice to Presbyterians
(07.06.12)
You've got a religion, tend to your followers. Yesterday it was because we rejected Jesus. Today it is because we "oppress" Palestinians. Tomorrow it will be because we are alive. This endless hate masked under one made up rallying point or another will end up consuming the world, and with all the technology and power humankind has, I shiver to think of the outcomes. The wise tend to their flocks. Fools believe they can tend all flocks.
2. Whats the Church BDS vote on China/Tibet? Kurdistan?Cyprus
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (07.06.12)
Death sentences for conversion to Christianity? Apostate laws? Blasphemy laws? Beheading Christian schoolchildren? Killing nuns?
3. The "occupation", it has agreed by the parties, will be...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.06.12)
...resolved through negotiations; the very negotiations to which the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)'s leadership refuses to resume. Shouldn't the church, instead of applying pressure upon Israel, demand, instead, of the PLO to return to the negotiation table and start talking peace...?? Isn't this part of what Christianity is all about...?? Or, rather, it is about slinging mud at the Jews, again...??
4. West Bank
Jack ,   Phoenix USA   (07.06.12)
The West Bank was not a Palestinian territory. Before 1967 the land was part of Jordan and the arabs that lived there didn't demand a "state" from Jordan. The West Bank became part of Israel after the 1967 war. The arabs NOW want this land because they hate Israel.
5. Fringe group declining in numbers needs publicity, got it.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.06.12)
Fifty years from now they will have insignificant followers and the arabs will still be complaining but won't come to the peace table.
6. Advice to BDS
(07.06.12)
Stop deceiving people. Stop your hate and blame. Stop being hypocrites and get a life!! If you care about the Palestinian people INVEST in them!! And finally.... find peace
7. Reacting, again
PaulZion ,   Israel   (07.06.12)
The problem is that Israel has left the field entirely open to the Palestinians to dream up these destructive initiatives - and then we react, fighting a rear-guard action. The time has come for Israel to take the PR fight to the Palestinians and take the initiative. First of all, we could make a big noise about their hate brainwashing in their education system. Secondly, we could bring out into the public eye, the way Hamas confiscates all aid trucks sent into Gaza, so that it does not reach the general public, and expose the corruption - show the human side to this. Thirdly, Israel could lobby and highlight the Palestinian intransigence on not accepting resolution 242 and the recognition of Israel. Fourthly, Israel could make a big fuss about the consistent targeting of the civilian population as a breach of the Geneva Conventions and international law. We could request the arrest of Haniya and Mashal on these grounds, and of the arrest of Abbas for the murder of Leon Klinghoffer on the Achille Lauro. Everyone knows he planned that terrorist attack. Let's make THEIR lives uncomfortable for a change. All it needs is good old-fashioned chutzpah, which we have in abundance.
8. Look at the flip side
Devorah   (07.06.12)
The initial vote was so close that this issue may possibly cause a serious rift within the Presbyterian church. I think HaShem will let it destroy itself from within for its slap on His face.
9. "Haaretz" has failed,it'll redouble villifying Israel
ab   (07.06.12)
10. # 8..Do you think HaShem might be doing that to Israel also?
Edithann ,   USA   (07.06.12)
You guys aren't doing to well amongst yourselves either...you hate your own...The American Jews, Haredi who wont fight, serious infightng within the govt with Bibi turning Orthodox......you're a sad case..Think your HaShem might have a hand in it all?. You're funny Devorah...really funny... TATA
11. The church only remains influential in Korea
sean green ,   pasadena usa   (07.06.12)
In the US they have been abandoned en masse after the Caucasian leadership allowed female Bishops and gay priests. This is forbidden in the New Testament and has caused most US Christians to leave it. Only Korean churches of them remain and they could care less about arab problems or gays, it's just a generic protestant church to them.
12. I've seen a lot of these articles
sean green ,   pasadena usa   (07.06.12)
You never run one on the Zionist majority churches in the US. Baptists, Assemblies of God, Methodists, etc. etc. Almost all of them want Israel to be ran by Jews. For fulfillment of prophecy and kindness toward religious pilgrims. These churches you bring up like episcopal and Presbyterian are very very leftist. European and American leftists hate Jews. The conservatives tend to adore Israel and sees them as a brother in arms and a blessing from God.
13. Where's the vote on Syria?
Moshe Grinch ,   Los Angeles, CA, USA   (07.06.12)
Oh, that's right, there are no Jews there.
14. Presbyterian church: sad
clear ,   tonka alaska   (07.06.12)
Very sad half of the church of Presbyterians is agin Israel. Not just politically. But deep in their hearts. Why else would they ignore human rights abuses in Syria, Lybia, Egypt, Pakistan, China and focus on the only Democracy in the Middle East? It is anti semitism stupid. That is the root of their
15. The worse thing is....
Nauseated ,   Israel   (07.06.12)
that many of the people supporting boycotting Israel and Israeli products are actually Jews. There is even a list of "rabbis" doing this - mostly sick Reform.
16. to edith ann
Barney ,   USA   (07.07.12)
haven't you heard the old joke two Jews three opinions? always debate and disagreement in the community. however we aren't killing each other over it as in the muslim world. study and debate is what has led to the exceptional intelligence, success, innovation, of the Jewish people and Israel who are only a tiny tiny part of the world's population and land mass but have contributed more to humanity than others. way out of proportion. must be blessed.
17. This church was instramental in denying jews enter canada
Trippster ,   la paz, bolivia   (07.08.12)
During the second world war ,the Presbyterian church of Canada fought tooth and nail in pressuring the canadian government to stop the flow of european jewry to Canada.
18. One question
DavidR ,   USA   (07.08.12)
What is Judaism? Is it Orthodox, Is it Heredi fanatical orthodox? Is it conservative? Is it reformed? Is it Messianic Judaism? Well, maybe more than one question. What is Christianity? Is it Presbyterian? Is it catholic? Is it Baptist? Is it Lutheran? Is it Messianic Judaism? Tell me what true Judaism is and I will tell you what true Christianity is. It seems Istaeli's/Jews speak of Christians all in the same context. Should the world do the same with Judaism? I don't expect an answer. In fact, I don't expect Y-net has the stones to publish this.
19. Why not boycott Eli Lilly and
Baruch ,   Houston/Israel   (07.08.12)
other major contributors to the Presbyterians. You may remember that Eli Lilly funded our friends the John Birch Society. These guys are one the ropes and have moves as far right as they can go without vanishing into the TV evangelist set. They have vitually no presence in the ghettos and barrios in their own country. Since they are so peaced up why is it their country that wanders the globe killing innocents? Lets look for other major contributors Dominion Enterprises of Norfolk Morgan Stanley Bank of America Reynolds (yup the tobacco company) Phillip Morris (yep the tobacco company) I grew up around these people--they hate us. Peace schmease this is antisemitism at its finest.
20. #10 - Edithann
Devorah   (07.08.12)
If there is a sad case around here, it's YOU. I did not write that HaShem is doing anything to anyone. What I DID infer is that He allows certain things to happen. And that includes the likes of you posting your usual drivel on Ynet. You're an outsider looking in. You're also ignorant as hell. So save the snide remarks regarding what's happening with Jews in Israel or anywhere else. You just don't seem to get that nobody cares what you think.
21. #15; Let's not forget the Orthodox Israel-bashers
Itzik ,   Israel   (07.08.12)
If you want to use BDS as a springboard to bash anti-Israel rabbis, why start and stop with the (very few) anti-Israel Reform rabbis? Please add to your list the good Orthodox rabbis of Neturei Karta and Satmar.
22. It Is Anti-Semitism
elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas!   (07.09.12)
Yes, it is anti-Semitism. These people focus only on Israel, which is the only democracy in the Middle East, and they ignore the danger to Jews in the recent past when they had to flee other countries in the ME for their lives. They conveniently ignore the human rights abuses all over the Middle East and Africa, but focus on non-existent abuses in Israel. These people are reprehensible---completely EVIL. I just grateful that there are Presbyterians who refuse to join these anti-Semites in their hatred of the Jewish people "disguised as concern over alleged abuses of human rights in Israel".
23. Reply to DavidR at #18
elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, Texas!   (07.09.12)
David R., your point is excellent, but most Jewish people do make a distinction, and really it is best for all of us to consider each member of any group as individuals. Jewish here, and I do see your point. We cannot lump all members of one group together.
24. Presbyterians condem gays--hate group!
BenTzion ,   SA/Israel   (07.09.12)
25. # 16 Barney...It's called 'inbreeding'...
