1. Obviusly someone is dying of envy, since we still haven't got
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.08.12)
our Tahrir-square like circuss. The Rotschild cretins are demanding equal "burden-share" between tycoons & rest of us. Right On, I say: let's get Soros first!!!
2. And i think MEN should ALSO BE PREGNANT!
Riva ,   Israel   (07.08.12)
As long as we're proposing equal share of the work, why not include the fact that women have to do all the suffering to bring children into the world!! And women are still put on the spot to serve in the IDF!!! -They should not be forced to serve! WE ARE DOING ENOUGH SERVING DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH CHILDBIRTH!!!
3. Riva @2
Moragh   (07.08.12)
I totally agree with you Riva.
4. National Unity
Free energy ,   Thermodynamics.   (07.08.12)
Exactly , a national unity of those that work and also serve in the army. Enough already Bibi with your cheap and shallow demagogy. Man up for goodness sakes, you are such a shallow fellow.
5. What is the gov't of Israel doing for Israelis?
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.08.12)
You only hear from the government of Israelis making sacrifices. But what benefits are Israelis getting from the governkment? All I see is high taxes, low paying jobs, high rents, high gas prices, and continuous warfare so the rich can make money from the conflict. Where is the justice for Israelis?
6. #2 Riva rants and misses the point
Antony ,   Tel Aviv   (07.08.12)
What does childbirth have to do with sharing the burden of the defence of the state of Israel? Nobody is forcing you to have children, but if you choose to, I would hope your motivation would be based on love, heritage, and the fabric of society, rather than getting out of societal responsibilities.
7. Good Decision
Adam Neira ,   Paris, France   (07.08.12)
This is a good decision by PM Netanyahu and the Likud Party. Good policy is predicated on a sound philosophy and worldview. Effective policy implementation must then follow.
8. Netanyahu
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (07.08.12)
What is Netanyahu's problem? Netanyahu has ignored and humiliated his Likud voters and Likud allies while sucking up to the fanatical Left that will never vote for him. He keeps the hated Barak in power, froze Jewish building, sacrificed IDF soldiers and now prevents recognition of Ariel as a university. His calls for unity are as pathetic as his begging Abbas to negotiate: the Left tells him we hate the Haredim, we hate the Zionists we hate you. Why can't Netanyahu be like Rabin? When Rabin was asked to consider citizens who did not vote for him, he sneered "they can spin like propellors"
9. National Unity? Ha, Ha, Ha!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.08.12)
How can there be National Unity when there are two groups who don't believe in the State of Israel: the Haredim and the Arabs? How can there be National Unity when once group of people, a minority, dictate how the majority eat, travel and live? How can there be National Unity when the Government pours billions into the religious institutions of one group but denies Holocaust Survivors the sick, the old and the handicapped the facilities to live a decent life? How can there be National Unity when a Union makes a total fool of the Minister of Transport and two Ministers, blamed for a national disaster but still serve in an overstuffed cabinet when no one is prepared to take on the responsibility of Minister of Health? What Zigzag Netanyahu means by National Unity is to use his big mouth to convince the "sons that don't have the ability to inquire" to ensure that he remains Prime Minister!
10. Playing "identify the trick"
PaulZion ,   Israel   (07.08.12)
With Bibi, it has become a game where you need to look deeper to identify the trick. Here too. While I applaud the Likud's adoption of the Plesner findings, as I would expect every Zionist party to do, why put it off until March 2013? Could it be because of the next elections, so that they could get some political mileage out of this? Nooooo, Bibi would never DREAM of doing that! This issue is an issue of values and moralty, of defining the character of our society and Israel. It is about being menschen and making your contribution. Why sully it with party politics?
11. Yeah Riva @ #2! I also totally agree with you!
Israeli 2   (07.08.12)
Look, we cannot survive if we are not one family understanding each other's burdens. All in all, the Israeli Military is good.
12. David @ #9:
Israeli 2   (07.08.12)
The Haredim believe moreso in the state of Israel than you can ever believe in. As a matter of fact, you are no match for the Haridic believe and love of Israel. They also constantly pray for the welfare of Israeli soldiers.
13. There was basically unity until the haredi hater Beinish,
(07.08.12)
the self-appointed judge, descendant of Cantonists, decided to stir trouble and bring anger and confusion into the public.
14. Perhaps,new good leaders for Israel are going to come out...
Keren ,   IL-BR   (07.08.12)
...from these protests. As for Netanyahu,I am sure that he will do the right think by this time, because this is a vital issue. The drafting issue is vital for Israel and must be acomplished with all due and required care, but it must be acomplished.
15. frank and explicit...
J.Gedalov ,   Israel   (07.08.12)
arab identity is defined independently of religious. If we dont refere to jews as israeli-jews, and we dont refere to haredim as israeli-haredim, why politicians and journalist use the concept "is raeli arabs" ? ...thank you ynet
16. Relocation is the answer
Sagi   (07.08.12)
No fear of conscription in the haredi communities in USA and Europe.
17. Integration of US military in 1948 was good for America
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.08.12)
...and it will be good for Israel, and the World. Integration of the schools, and workforce is the next step.
18. #9, #10
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.08.12)
Well said! This is another trick of Netanyahu's 1. - Because of elections 2. - To try to quiet down the activists 3. - To try to pour oil on the waters until it is no longer in the news - then he will just enact another Tal type law.
