These are success stories? Are you serious? 2 gullible American girls get married - one to a lifeguard and one to a masseur who no doubt are seeking US passports......Nu behmet....
2. I know some cute English girls who made Aliyah to
Alex ,   Netanya, Israel   (07.12.12)
find an "exotic" Israeli guy and return to the UK after a year or two. This is nothing new.

Shmuel Rosenfeld ,   Jupiter USA   (07.12.12)

Efraim ,   in Virginia   (07.12.12)
You want exotic? Just go to Luton!Hahahah
7. break up please
Yismao ,   Tel Aviv   (07.12.12)
Shoshana Waldstein,19, made aliyah to Eilat, last July, from Denver, Colorado. While working in a hotel there, she met Yisrael, 27, a fitness trainer and masseuse from Ofakim. The two got engaged and plan to get married in two years after Shoshana completes her IDF service. This is divorce waiting to happen. Please break up.
8. Didn't see anything about male Olim
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.12.12)
I checked out the singles Facebook page NBN setup. It's only for people 18-39 & I turn 40 tomorrow :( Seems there's age discrimination in everything Israeli. I'd love to think that an American guy could find a beautiful Jewish woman in Israel, but the deck isn't stacked as well for men as it is for women.
9. It is very sad that out of 15 olim I know only 2 are left
Judith Dana ,   Karmiel   (07.12.12)
Is this article for real or what? Ynet please follow up with the engaged couples in three years time.
10. Let's wish them success!
Avraham ,   Keshet   (07.12.12)
May all of those that have come Home find success, happiness, good health and stay for good!
11. #8 Amichai
Logic ,   Israel   (07.13.12)
You're incorrect. There are so many Israeli women in their thirties who are looking to settle down with a decent guy and many of them are good looking, but have a hard time with Israeli men.
12. A lifeguard and a masseuse? This is what they found here?
Tahl   (07.13.12)
Great, two bums with no formal education whose work involves being surrounded by women with minimal clothing. Is this the best these girls could find? I sure hope mine and #1's intuition is wrong, and these guys are not only after the Green Card. Best of luck...
13. are credit cards acceptable for paying Ketubah pride price?
observer ,   Egypt   (07.13.12)
14. Nefesh B’Nefesh!,
observer ,   Egypt   (07.13.12)
how long is the marriage interval insisted upon by wealthy Jews?
15. Being blindsided fact vs the dream world
Josh   (07.13.12)
It seems easier for a woman to be taken in marriage in Israel then it is for society to allow Israeli women to enter into a marriage with an American. A lot of black eyes in this equation.
16. Well Said #8, and this article is questionable.
Naftali ,   Seattle,WA   (07.13.12)
This is a great article except for one thing, why are we hearing about women olim side of the love story and why did this writer of the article not also include Men olim side of the love story, isn't this kind of sexist to imply this article of only hearing about the women side and exclude the men when it is suppose to be done in a concise manner to hear aliyah love stories from both Jewish men and women? But anyways I like this article it just needs to also include men in it too.
17. Here's Hoping Many More Make Aliyah
World Citizen ,   the world   (07.13.12)
And whether they stay or leave doesn't matter.
18. What's wrong w/ this picture?
Yitzhak ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (07.13.12)
So you come to Israel to settle and find love...you think you have found it...so instead of having a Jewish wedding, a simcha in Israel you go to the most corrupt city in the US, Las Vegas to get married...what's wrong with this picture?
19. 2 out of 15?
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (07.13.12)
that is approximately the same statistic as the earliest immigrants from Europe to North America. So calm down, Judith.
20. Amichai = schlemiel on top of schlemazel
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (07.13.12)
at 40, you are (if you are not a TOTAL looser, which many frum guys ARE) highly attractive to even some women in their mid-20's (if you look after your looks) who are ready to grab a family life. Stop whining and spend the bucks for a hair transplant. Go on a diet for a year and get down to 10% bodyfat. It's the females who have the expiration-date problem, dude. Any guy age 40 who can't find a wife in Israel.... isn't trying.
21. hello, #13 & 14
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (07.13.12)
>>how long is the marriage interval insisted upon by wealthy Jews? Approximately the same amount of time as Egypt's new law allows men to fornicate with a dead wife.
22. True story of my friend in NY
jeff ,   uk   (07.13.12)
He lived in NYC, was self employed for 7 years, couldn't manage to save a penny. Between rent and health insurance alone he was spending over 2500 a month USD. Hes moved to Israel in 09, he told me as much as people yell and scream things are expensive, his health insurance is 35 bucks or so a month and instead of living like a pig in a small apt in a dirty building he lives in a 1200sf apt. with a balcony in a building less than 5 years old and he pays 1300usd a month, no its not in tel aviv but for his work it doesnt matter. He said food is 25% less than in NYC and is very happy, he managed to save money and expand his small business by a bit too, loves the weather too. Many knock moving to israel, if you are a complete loser all your life you will be a loser if you move to israel or to mars, but for many smart people it really improves their life.
23. The true face of Aliyah in your own words:
Izik ,   America Ha-Zfonith   (07.13.12)
"Israeli singles ... are dreaming “not only” about making aliyah and becoming new Israelis, but also of finding love here..." "It isn’t easy to be a new immigrant in Israel. Jamie met Yishai Vaknin, 23, and the two fell in love and now live in Kfar Yonah. They will fly to Las Vegas in the fall to get married..." Note of the author: For N.American Jews, Israel is like a Cuba resort: one week-all-included. Then, back home. Don't get me wrong, Israel is not a looser -- it gets "+1 jew arrived" line in the register of total Israel' population. Well done!
24. what about gay <jews _
twice blessed ,   diaspora   (07.13.12)
i wish to find a hunky soldier.
25. No. 18 Yitzhak
NYC Girl   (07.14.12)
Actually, Chicago is the most corrupt city in the U.S.
26. Diaspora Jews tend to be middle class, why will they slum if
Oliver Cohen   (07.14.12)
Up in Israel for anything more than two years, like all the other talkbackera are saying. The young may see aliyah as part of this "really cool awesome thing" but unless their parents are sending them money every month, the reality of the Israeli holiday soon ends when you're going to work every day, doing 50 hours a week for money that barely scrapes minimum wage. The diaspora Jew will soon get more and more homesick for their old life in New York, London or Paris. You only have to go to a Jewish neighborhood in these cities to see what many olim have left and then compare with what they have during aliyah . Yes, this talkback is all about having material things but if you have had these things since birth then it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks, 25 years old or not.
27. # 8 & # 11
Faith ,   Israel   (07.14.12)
Amichai: Age discrimination at 40 yrs. old?? Try being a single woman in Israel and 55 years old. Now that's a challenge. Everything here in Israel seems to be geared for the young, and even Nefesh B'Nefesh is discriminatory - I guess men my age are either too settled in their ways, or married, or both. Or else, they look for younger women. I guess it's that male genetic thing about still needed to procreate. And no. 11 - you are so right. So many lovely and intelligent Israeli women who are fed up with Israeli men's immaturity and macho attitudes are looking and looking...and hoping.
28. >> i wish to find a hunky soldier
Bluegrass Picker ,   Afula   (07.15.12)
plenty of them available. Join the IDF. You can't win it if you're not in it!
