1. Of course Morsi will support Hamas, but the real question is
Iranian Hunter   (07.13.12)
Will Morsi do it ? Want USA to block the aids ? And besides, just look at that cute Morsi, always surrounded by the generals, like his own personal pretorian guards, is it possible that the praetorians are the one that controls him ? nah, impossible, they win the election right ? Exactly baby. And did you know, he just goes to Saudi Arabia and said "The safety of the gulf is a red line for us", gee I wonder if this is for Israel ? is it for Iran ? Impossible ! Iran is muslim too, Sunni's best friend forever right ? Is it possible Morsi will focus on economy and Iran instead of destroying Israel ? One thing for sure, he doesn't have power to do anything. But then again the MB has millions of people that can overthrow the military. All in all, Who is Syria's rebel ? The MB.
2. prayer of haniyeh
DavidR ,   USA   (07.13.12)
As he falls to his knees and puckers his lips he is heard saying, "Please my Egyptian god, have morsi upon us!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! This is the biggest joke of the century!
3. Dreams, Arab nights dreams. good night
JJJ   (07.13.12)
4. Remorse or Morsi !!
Ehai ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (07.13.12)
If the Palestinian leadership in Hamas turn to remorse for their continual harassment of Israel and obstruction of peace there might be some hope for them!! But the Muslim Brotherhood's chances of defending Hamas fighters from IDF is zero. Hamas is in a no win situation. The should vote for union with Egypt not clandestine alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood. Pathetic medieval strategy that is.
5. Whistling in the dark.
Stephen in New York   (07.13.12)
But the mountain passes will make a good border should things get out of hand.
6. There are consequences for supporting terrorists
William ,   Israel   (07.13.12)
Erdogan learned this earlier this year when he supported Hamas and the world sent a clear message to him. Morsi says he supports Hamas and other Muslim Brotherhood-based terrorists globally but right now, he has a country to run and needs the world's help. Morsi's willingness to help Hamas is much less than Haniyeh thinks. If Morsi opens Rafah (which is already open - Hamas blocks traffic for political reasons) then they'd have to contend with the smuggling of weapons. If Morsi pushes for the blockade to be lifted, he'd have to go against the UN which deemed it legal - and he doesn't have any ability to challenge it anyway. Morsi could support Hamas in Europe but even Eurotrash are tired of the oppressive lies of Hamas which continues to torpedo peace efforts. Morsi could support Hamas' weapons smuggling but that put Egypt in the crosshairs of Israel and Western nations, and the Egyptian military isn't ready to take on Israel, nor is Morsi ready to contend that the military is as relevant as they think they are in Egypt. So - good luck with the pipe dreams, Haniyeh.
7. Give Gaza back to Egypt
Avi ,   USA   (07.13.12)
Gaza belonged to Egypt historically. It's time to give it back with agreement to disarm Gaza and put it under Egyptian control.
8. Yes, Egypt will protect Gaza, after annexing & absorbing it.
Jake ,   USA   (07.13.12)
Bye bye Hamas.
9. Not likely to happen
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.13.12)
I don't think that Morsi would risk relations with the West -- particularly the United States -- just to accommodate a terrorist rabble that he doesn't particularly like to begin with. Egypt has a multitude of serious internal problems; the mandate Morsi was given did not include issues related to Gaza, and Egypt cannot afford to assume the responsibility of providing goods, services, humanitarian aid, electricity and fresh water to Gaza, which Egypt would have to do because.any normalization of relations between Egypt and Gaza will mean that Israel will instantly cede responsibility to Egypt. Time will tell, of course, but Morsi's chief obligation is to Egypt. He does not want to risk losing U.S. and other foreign aid by improving ties with a terrorist organization. He also knows that Israel can go back into the Sinai pretty much at will, so it is in his best interests to make very sure that Egypt is not used as a conduit to smuggle weapons and embargoed goods into Gaza. That would be a red line from Israel's perspective.
10. great. shut all commerce, gates. power sharing with gaza.
ralph   (07.13.12)
11. one big lie. ousted from power in a popular revolt"
No! Obama ousted ,   him himself! TRUTH   (07.13.12)
12. Egyptians, please take Gaza back
Mark ,   Israel   (07.13.12)
Everything will be much easier what Gaza is absorbed back into Egypt . There is really no other solution. Everybody in Israel will support this news. Why we ever took this land in the first place defeats me!
13. Mursi is a figurehead. The army is in charge!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.13.12)
14. #8 - nobody wants Gaza!
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.13.12)
Why would Egypt annex Gaza? Israel tried many times to give Gaza to Egypt and Egypt correctly declined the offer. There is a joke in Israel that Peres and Barak were talking and one said, "we're giving them Gaza" and the other said. "and what are they getting in return?'.
15. #12 - Israel never intended to take Gaza
Michael Redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (07.13.12)
The Israeli advance was so fast that it took Gaza and then realized its mistake. Israel tried many times to give Gaza to Egypt and Egypt correctly declined the offer. There is a joke in Israel that Peres and Barak were talking and one said, "we're giving them Gaza" and the other said. "and what are they getting in return?'.
16. #15..Nice joke..
Beary White ,   Norway   (07.14.12)
..I will use it later in discussions.. The main problem for the strip is hamass, which only can be removed by targeted take-outs of their terror-leaders. Every attack from the strip must be answered by a take-out of a hamass-terrorist-leader or affiliate terror-leader. Then at the end the "normal" population will understand the terror-road is too costly. The foreign leftist who will start to protest, I have no solution, they are braindead and already lost....
17. Will Morsi join Hamas in throwing rockets at Israel?
(07.14.12)
18. The pals seem to have an over inflated...
Malone ,   Hfx   (07.14.12)
..sense of their own importance...they're overdue for a dose of reality.

22. What a tightrope to walk!
Cameron ,   USA   (07.14.12)
So many different voices to calm and please. Good luck to Morsi in trying to keep the lid on that pot.
23. THEY SHOULD'VE MACHINE-GUNNED MORSI LIKE HE DID (MB)TO SADAT
ALBERTO   (07.14.12)
THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD ASSASAINATED SADAT, THERE SHOULD BE RETRIBUTION BY THE MILITARY!
24. Hamas blockade?
Lenya ,   Australia   (07.14.12)
Egypt and Israel do not blockade people movements out of Gaza for medical reasons and migration purposes (If countries of destination already granted visas)....No its not Egypt or Israel..but Hamas that blockades the normal Gazan civilians from traveling out of Gaza because if given the chance they would altogether abandon the enclave leaving Hamas a meaningless entity.
25. Typical "Palestinian" whine
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.14.12)
How to get somebody else to fight for them because they are too busy hiding behind the same women and children they abuse to face us. Even if Mursi is stupid enough to order the army out, the generals will simply remove or kill him. They know that their forces would never survive the crossing of the Sinai.
26. # 20 observer not so
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (07.14.12)
the Egyptian Army is in charge, didn't you hear? Good thing too as Egypt now can't feed herself. Some 'revolution' the Egyptians can't farm eat or think. But, the military will avoid any wars with Israel, Egypt remembers what it cost her the last time she tried that foolishness. I bought some Nassers 'victory' stamps the last time out. Wish I'd not given them all away as gifts. The Brits aren't in charge.
27. Timing
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (07.14.12)
give this enough time and Morsi will meet the same fate ( or worse ) than Mubarak. Their army is, at best, old cronies who couldn't fight to win if their lives depended on it.
28. The Egyptians will gobble Morsi up
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (07.14.12)
and shit him out just like they did with Mubarak. The average Egyptian can't read... The brotherhood fed, clothed, and housed these 'constituents' they are owned by a fed lot mentality, makes no difference, they can't win, Israel can't lose. "Let my people go." LOL now, it's the Egyptians turn Another day, another phaoroh...
29. # 24 Lenya your right!
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (07.14.12)
It reminds me of the Berlin Wall.. I can't feel too badly for the Egyptians, they voted for what they wanted and, the fun's just starting. Same with the pals, who's the prisoner now?
30. american help is a drop in the ocean
inconito   (07.14.12)
U.S assistance is just over a billion a year; reported to the country's size, and the striking power ( money ) of the monarchies of the Gulf, this represents a drop in the ocean. the quality of French arms is far superior to american the egyptian people will not allow morsi of Tantawi to be spectators in case of war. I do not know what form it takes, but for sure the egyptian people will not let the Palestinians being massacred mubarak ( the israeli firster ) is gone, and he will not comeback
