1. Even worse since 20% of kids are chareidim
Daniel ,   UK   (07.15.12)
When you realize 20% of kids are chareidim who don't have TV and mostly don't have internet either, the numbers become even worse for those who do.
2. Rationing
Max Schadenfreude ,   Kerguelen   (07.15.12)
Start by saying there is not a whole lot that's good that I could honestly say about my parents. However they demonstrated wisdom in one regard. When I was a kid, TV was in its infancy. A number of families tried simply not buying one, those who were religious and you guessed it, a lot of the kids sneaked around and saw TV at friends' places. I was placed on a one hour per day ration and told to learn how to take the best and leave the rest. So parents, think a combination of filter and time ration and you should be ok. Best wishes.
3. That's only half of the Israeli children.
Vladimir ,   Yerushalayim   (07.15.12)
Religious children don't watch TV and don't surf Internet at all. They read books and play outdoors.
4. Surprise Surprise!
An Israeli Mom ,   Jerusalem   (07.15.12)
Maybe if the Israeli kids had long school days like European kids with more demanding school cirricula they would not have so much free time to surf the net and watch TV. I personally am horrified at the amount of time the kids spend on Facebook and other social networks. It has become a total additction!
