3. all for 20,000 NIS or $6,500?
Eyal ,   USA Israel   (07.15.12)
That's really pathetic. The next thing you will here is a fat man blaming the government for being fat, because the government didn't help him.

6. Irresponsible person who needs mental help
Alex   (07.15.12)
First of all, how the hell do you get a 20 000 NIS phone bill?! Secondly it's not the phone company's or the government's fault that this moron can't handle his phone expenditures. This "social protest" brings forth all kinds of mentally ill people in Israel... Illustrates what people are behind it all.
7. Hunger strikes and self-immolation - the latest trends
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (07.15.12)
First it was one Palestinian security suspect on hunger strike. Israeli authorities caved so, the tactic's strategy proving successful, there has been a small wave of copy-cat hunger strikers. A Tunisian fruit-seller immolates himself, setting in motion a wave of protests and an Islamic resurgence. Now some Israeli fruitcake follows suit, it garners the attention of the Prime Minister, and we already have the first attempted copycat. Are these today's role models?
8. Match
michael Pielet ,   israel   (07.15.12)
Next time give him a match.
9. 4# and 3# How can anyone get a $6000
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (07.15.12)
thousand dollar cell phone bill to begin with???? What cell phone company really provided $6000 thousand dollars of service to anyone?? Obviously the company and their blatant overpricing of their services need to be questioned pronto. If the guy bought something tangible like a washing machine and dryer.....then a couple of thousand dollars for the top of the line product makes sense. But yakking on a little hand held device made in China for cents on the dollar.....is not... and never will be... worth $6000 thousand dollars of fees for services. Get to stupid with pricing the average person out of the market......it leads to calls for socialism. Capitalism only works if it is affordable.
10. light'er up
Norma ,   can   (07.15.12)
Why not permit these idiots to burn themselves up if that's what they wish. Don't put them out - let them burn till there's just a bit of ash.
11. Latest trends!
Spencer ,   Israel   (07.16.12)
Hunger strikes mean more food for others. Suicide or attempted suicide by burning yourself is a waste of good fuel!
12.  10. light'er up
Jeffrey Walsbyj ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.16.12)
It is precisely your kind of immoral attitude to the poor and the week that Israelis are angry about. Your attitude is exactly the same kind of flippant mentality a person with a problem experiences every time he or she walks into a government office. That's why people are resorting to these sorts of desperate tactics.
13. Israelis
Alan Sugar ,   Israel - UK   (07.16.12)
Having read the responses to articles written ln ynet & Jpost about fellow citizens setting or attempting to set themselves a light as crys for help. It has reaffirmed to me that this people (Israelis) are not a people i want to live with or associate with. You show no kindness to one another & those less fortunate, & as a whole all you think about is your own lots. You & the Palestinians deserve each other - i am sorry to say. In Israel people tell me that Israelis are like Sabra fruits - prickly on the outside but kind in the inside. I beg to differ big style. Your just damn right cruel to one another - so much hatred be it: gay, religious, secular, left right! In England us JEWS dont need such analogies as people are just as a whole more pleasent & kind to one another. We dont have to say that we are like apples or bananas, etc. We accept one another without hatred. You all need to start caring for one another & being kinder - where has this sick cruel character trait come from. The Jews i have me from all around the world (outside Israel) - as a general rule are nothing like you Israelis. I am counting down the days to returning back to my country of birth & will miss the land of Israel, but to be quite honest i will be quite happy to not see another rude Israeli again! Antisemitism or whatever - i cant stand another day with your culture & hate to one another!
14. to no. 13 Yes please go back to Londonstan. There Islamists
Ari ,   Jerusalem   (07.16.12)
Love You and you embrace each other. Yes people here are rude, but also are warm you have to know them better. If you dont like them is your problem. I wasn't born here but I am very proud to live here. I have become Israeli. We have faults like every body we are a normal country. Ben Gurion use to Joke and said."When we will have thieves and prostitutes we will become a normal country. Well as you can see we are a normal country. You see Spain, more than 30% unemployed. Greece well...USA 8.5% etc .Look at Italy, Portugal. We are better of than many other countries. Israel has become big because Israel is a country of tough people, there is no place here for weak people. We are sourrounded by many enemies including with in. Become weak and you are dead.
15. Alan Sugar might be correct
Big Al ,   Zichron Israel   (07.16.12)
If it is the real Alan Sugar or even if it is not, the man may have a point. As an ex-UK citizen, who has lived here for close to 30 years, I feel an increasing tendency within Israel for all the various factions to gradually pull each other apart. If something doesn't happen, and fairly soon, for the first time ever I am afraid of what will become of the country that I genuinely love and would never consider leaving. I have too much invested, not in terms of capital, but in terms of the children and grandchildren that I have in this country. That is the reason why I will be staying in the hope and in the sincere belief that things will take a turn for the better, people may not like each other (it's a Jewish thing) but at least learn to live with each other. People have to learn to contribute to the system at an equal level and the public sector will need to find a way to get off the backs of those who do contribute, allowing them a decent lifestyle without exorbitant taxation and the seemingly never-ending desire to punish the citizens of this country at this first opportunity. I wish you well, Alan sugar, whenever you choose to make your home. It is your right.
16. Alan sugar #13
Moshe ,   Isl/Uk   (07.16.12)
I strongly recommend that you read the talkbacks to the article about this story on the suns website. If you so easily give up on Israelis over something like this then read what your precious englishmen are saying about it and then find somewhere else to live that is neither Uk or isl. It's silly to think that 8 milli
