1. Another cyber espionage
Harold ,   USA   (07.17.12)
Do not through stones on others when your roof is made of glass. I predict all viruses forwarded to Iran and other Middle Eastern countries will be returned to sender.
2. No. 1, so far Iranians are hurting themselves
Marco ,   Spain   (07.17.12)
as you said, return to sender, which is already working against Iranians
3. To No' 1 - wise comment
sammy ,   israel   (07.17.12)
wise comment there... but go ahead and throw those stones hard if your roof is made of steel. The fact that you think any country with the power to create and send these viruses cant defend itself from those very ones, is laughable. Maybe call up Obama and Bibi and let them know of your concerns. You might save the nation.
4. #2 AND #3
Harold ,   USA   (07.17.12)
One thing I want to tell both of you that science is advancing every single minute all over the world so the senders must be prepare for all the consequences.
5. To: Sammy at No. 3
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.17.12)
LOL! Brilliant response!
6. To: No. 4
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.17.12)
Science is advancing, but in the case of Iran it is also retreating. One more Israeli-inspired barrage, and the Iranians will be back to using tin cans and a piece of string.
7. There no reports about malware occurances in Israel...
Persian CAT   (07.17.12)
Why?!!! Whereas Iran regularly reports such incidences, Israeli media are barred from reporting malware. Not talking about it does not make you guys immune to cyber attacks!
8. to #4, "harold"
shloime ,   toronto, canada   (07.17.12)
ooh, ah! the iranians will write viruses? ok. but first we should ask a very simple question, who wrote the operating systems that everybody is using? and who designed the chips that they run on? how many intel processors were designed in tehran? none. and how many versions of windows were developed in ANY moslem country? none. (with the exception of localized arabic-language versions.) or to put it more directly, how many programmes have YOU written? (i started programming in 1972, by the way, and have done mainframe, mini, and micro development.) or are you just an "armchair quarterback"?
9. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.17.12)
Israel is in the forefront of the technology. Don't you realize that all key security-related networks in Israel are self-contained and simply inaccessible to the outside world? A few months back, Israel did report that hackers had accessed an Israeli bank, but that's all been fixed. Eat your heart out, kitty cat. Israel has trashed Iran's computer networks in ways your dim brain cannot begin to fathom. Israel owns your primitive asses! Stay tuned. More to come. Much, much more. We've only just begun.
10. #7 - sure there was. Flame was reported in Israel, too
William ,   Israel   (07.17.12)
Didn't you read the PUBLIC article about it a couple months ago? It was right here in Ynet, an ISRAELI media outlet. However, you're right. Not talking about infections doesn't make one immune to them - being highly sophisticated and intelligent enough to be A-class experts is. That's why you don't hear much about infections in Israel. How many Iranian Internet Security firms are there? Less than I can count on one hand, but there are lots of Israeli firms and they are sought after all over the world by those trying to protect their data from criminals, State-backed hackers, and crazy Mullahs. Seems to be working so far, except for Iran.
11. #8 - Of course no Muslim-developed OS and chips
William ,   Israel   (07.17.12)
who wants their computer exploding on them 5 times a day, after its screeches "Allahu Akbar"?
12. Sarah
JUDAH THE LION ,   QUDS AL YAHUDI   (07.17.12)
With Jewish brain the Iranian will wipe their own country with their own nuclear Just relax and watch it will happen
13. Muslims developed Terror
JUDAH THE LION ,   QUDS AL YAHUDI   (07.17.12)
allah is pagan god. The god of the moon.
14. Persian language... *sigh*
Ze'ev ,   USA   (07.18.12)
First off, it is Farsi not Persian. Secondly, wouldn't it make more sense that a virus written in Farsi, with a file called mahdi, be of Iranian production? Iran wants to keep track of students, (mostly their own) and Arab countries. Iran is not the darling of the ME, most Arab countries are worried about them, and Iran knows it.
15. Variations on a theme
Stephen in New York   (07.18.12)
It seems that all these attacks (Stuxnet, Flame, DuQu and now Mahdi) appear all to be variations on a theme, all born from the same mother.
16. Israel's Unit 8200, and USA's NSA, running SIGINT, Cyberwar
COLBERT ,   Treadmill, ISS   (07.18.12)
...on Iran. "The Pentagon has concluded that computer sabotage coming from another country can constitute an act of war, a finding that for the first time opens the door for the U.S. to respond using traditional military force. The Pentagon's first formal cyber strategy, unclassified portions of which are expected to become public next month, represents an early attempt to grapple with a changing world in which a hacker could pose as significant a threat to U.S. nuclear reactors, subways or pipelines as a hostile country's military. In part, the Pentagon intends its plan as a warning to potential adversaries of the consequences of attacking the U.S. in this way. "If you shut down our power grid, maybe we will put a missile down one of your smokestacks," said a military official."
