Thank you Rupert Murdoch, a good friend of Israel and the Jewish people.
2. Another one soon to bite the dust.
Moragh   (07.18.12)
Good for you Israel. There are for sure many more of them so keep searching and the good Lord be with you in your search. Bring them all to an Israeli REAL taste of justice. How about a very slow and painful death for all of those captured and soon to be captured?
3. hungarian police officer
Ezra ,   SanDiego USA   (07.18.12)
Evidently, this man was one of Hitler's followers, not belonging to the German army, but as a local police officer, taking his orders from Hitler's killing machine. The people he captured, humiliated, and sent in the cattle cars to their death, those people were his neighbors in Hungary. Back then Hungarian leaders actually wanted Hitler to win, and they blamed the local Jews for the D-Day invasion.

Helene ,   Tel Aviv   (07.18.12)
Good that he was arrested. Even at 97 - it's never too late to face justice. At least, even if he has lived his life, he may die as a street dog and that's good news
5. It's a bit late in the day !! Zuroff is elated
miri ,   israel   (07.18.12)
on finding a 97 yr old nazi who has managed to live out his life.

But there is a considerable amount of shame in ending one's life at the end of a rope and being buried in an unmarked grave, face down. That would be his fate, and I am not uncomfortable with such an inglorious end. Justice delayed may be justice denied, but justice does not recognize age limitations. I hope he hangs, and dies in the complete disgrace he deserves.
7. #5 - Of course....
Andy ,   Washington, DC   (07.18.12)
it would have been better to capture him as a man in his 40's. But we didn't. It's still better that he face public justice. The real travesty is that he will sit in a jail cell getting his meals and plenty of sleep. He should be treated like his victims and shot.
8. He could have left since he was forewarned. Perhaps he
(07.18.12)
is tired of running and wants to get some payback on his taxes he has paid for many decades: free room and board and medical care in a jail. Maybe he needs dental work done for free or an organ transplant at taxpayer expense for those in prisons like in California where prisoners get organ transplants before more deserving people outside of prisons.
9. False news !
Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (07.18.12)
The bandit is not arrested, simply sentenced for house custody, what means not allowed to leave his flat. The anti fascists, who visited yesterday Csatáry's apartement now on a blacklist of nazi website Kuruc info, suggesting to attack them. Police activity = O.
10. n9 you are just wrong
zsofi ,   hungary   (07.18.12)
he is not in house custody he is in custody of the police which is a state of the criminal procedure so it is actually what police was supposed to do, obviously he will be arrested and prosecuted, otherwise they would have just take him to the police station for questioning, and wouldnt put him in custody, or wouldn't had taken away his passport as they did. police activity = exactly as it works in a country with a rule of law. just stop moaning all the time please
11. Miri , he wasn't ashamed to send very
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.18.12)

Actually its worse for him. just when he thought he was going to get away with it and spend his life in peace, the law caught up with him. He will suffer and he will suffer at an age when suffering hurts a lot. so its a thumbs up to all: Sun, Simon Wiesenthal etc
