1. US passport issued in Michigan
Ezra ,   SanDiego USA   (07.19.12)
Of course! Dearborn Michigan is home to a boat-load of Arabs.
2. Bulgaria is a wonderful country.
Eli ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.19.12)
We have very warm relations with them. They saved Jews during the Holocaust. They have been very cooperative during this sad time. We share a common enemy. And we will continue to work together. G-d bless Bulgaria and Israel.
3. man seen on airport security tapes
joe ,   uk   (07.19.12)
why security people not alert if they see a man scouting for one HOUR ? what did they think he is there for go and ask him what he is doing? this is the moment what they are there for what are they doing playing watching tv this is common sense quations
4. Wait! I don't get it! A strange man wanders around the
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.19.12)
Israeli buses for ONE WHOLE HOUR... ON CAMERA....and the security people didn't think to come out and check? Is this some kind of a sick joke? This is Bulgarina security?
5. Bulgarians are our friends
George   (07.19.12)
We have no better friends in Europe than the Bulgarians, that remains a fact.
6. @ #1
David ,   San Francisco   (07.19.12)
If you read the article you would have read that is said the passport was FAKE! On top of that the man was white! You Jews really have to lay off of Dearborn. Its a typical American town.
7. #2 Thank you Eli, we will help injured to go back to Israel
Ibrahim ,   HASOVO, Bulgaria   (07.19.12)
8. the biggest muslim population in the usa
(07.19.12)
is in michigan. in dearborn, michigan. i am not surprised.
9. Not their responsibility, but our own.
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.19.12)
As Eli, #2 noted Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people are warm and pleasant. They are sympathetic. I have visited there and unlike anywhere else in Europe I was not verbally attacked for being an Israeli even once. At the same time, they are not as security conscious as we are - and for good reason. They don't need to be. It is not up to us to attack their security facilities, but to provide our own. Those buses were hired by and for Israelis - there should have been advance Israeli security on/near/around them.
10. #9 - That would increase the price of a ticket by 100 Euros.
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.19.12)
If you told a group of Israelis to pay 100 Euros more for security, do you really think they will pay? No way! They will be willing to take their chances. Better to use that 100 Euros in the casino, they will reason.
11. #6 Think outside the box
Ron ,   US   (07.19.12)
Not all Arabs have dark skin. He could be a convert to Islam or proxy of Iran. Although the passport is fake, he could have come from Dearborn.
12. #9,so every country sending turists to Israel should provide
ab   (07.19.12)
own security ? Of course it is Bulgarian responsibility .Don't cringe .
13. Hopefully....we can establish who the killers are
Tim ,   Brighton   (07.19.12)
Lets not react hastily Lets establish who planned and who masterminded and who the paymasters were of the murders Then we strike....

So? If they want to travel - and in groups - then they pay for security or they don't go - Or better yet, travel as individuals and really get to see and know and understand the country one is visiting.

A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.19.12)
Please think more clearly. Israel provides fantastic security for all. Not all other nations have the sad requirements that we do for security, nor the knowledge required for that level of security. Other groups do not need to provide security for themselves in Israel OTOH Israelis regretfully do need extra security which only we can provide for ourselves. both at home and abroad.
16. #14 - I was there in Burges 3 weeks ago with an organized
Patriotic Israeli ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.19.12)
tour. An "extra" was offered for an evening of authentic Bulgarian folklore and folk dance. My wife and I were excited to go see it. We were in a group of 42. Only four signed up for the evening. The cheap Israelis wouldn't pay an additional 35 Euros each for such an authentic evening and it was cancelled. And you are going to get them pay an additional 100 Euros for security. And the Israeli travel agencies and the Bulgarian government and businesses want them to come. We flew on a Bulgarian charter, so your idea of "If they want to travel - and in groups - then they pay for security or they don't go" is not enforcable! Sad, but reality!
17. If they saw man on tape, why no action
Tarbouche ,   Aswan   (07.19.12)
18. #15 ,so noticing somebody loitering for an hour around Israe
ab   (07.19.12)
li turists buses requires" fantastic skills only Israel possesses" ? Don't cringe.

Baruh ,   USA   (07.19.12)
Being a Bulgarian, I can tell you no one, anywhere in Bulgaria looks at a bus with Israelis or other nationalities for that matter, and expects the worst only because a strange man was close by. So it's not a sick joke, it's just not a likely place for something like that to occur. Well until now...

Sadly the proof has been too often demonstrated as in this bombing of the bus.
21. Air port security should have picked this guy up.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (07.19.12)
It's chilling me that this was preventable. Why did their air port security not pic up someone hanging around a bus for about an hour? PG this should be a lesson for security all around the world. Security is not just a job where you sit around with some computer screens and a packet of crisps.
22. Its a sad day again when Israeli
Arlene ,   Israel   (07.19.12)
holiday makers are a target of terror again. Israelis have been goping to Bulgaria for years now, without inccident and these insane killers knew that, had "cased the joint" and saw the security situation. They have never needed it as we have or other likely targets, nothing there but sun sea and sand and the folks who come to enjoy, not for them a typical terrorist target. We know better of course, but we cant tell another country how to run things. Nothing is mentioned about the bus driver and courier. Condolances to the families of the murdered and speedy recovery to those hurt. Think I will enjoy Eilat this year!

It says he was "Caucasian", which means he could be anywhere from Northern Europe all the way to northern India or north Africa.
24. Muslem terrorists are cowards
Aziz   (07.19.12)
Any head of state or organizatio sending someone to blow a bomb and kill himself and civilians or even soldiers is a dirty coward. Muslem leaders need to stop their preaching for hatred and murder of others. Our religion is ruined by your actions.
25. Iran? Actually all fingers point to USA. US suicide bomber
(07.19.12)
26. Read the article Befor you talk!!!
#25 ,   Lakewood NJ   (07.19.12)
And I quote "Further information discovered that the suspect's papers included a US passport issued in Michigan, which was apparently a fake"
27. #6 Dearborn - a 'typical' American city? LOL!
David Hartman ,   Raleigh   (07.19.12)
Yes, if you consider a 'typical' American city one to be: 1) One with the highest concentration of Muslims in the U.S. 2) One where anything interpreted as anti-Islamic is punishable by arrest 3) One where anything interpreted as anti-Islamic is responded to with violence while police do nothing. 4) One where attacks against non-Muslims by Muslims are common. 5) One whose government favors and panders to Muslims 6) One that has been repeatedly sued for civil rights violations against non-Muslims and lost. Common from SF, I would expect such an imbecilic, baseless response; well done!
28. It is time to...
