1. Cost can be minimized
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.19.12)
Why bother? Why not just send those miscreants to their just reward? Where's the problem with that? Why should Israel tolerate any of their nefarious activities? I'm not all that interested in minimization. I'm interested in elimination.
2. How can this Cost be minimize?
Chieftan ,   Israel   (07.19.12)
do we mean to use diplomatic channels to minimize the cost and revenges? Iran uses all the proxies, such Hizbollah, Hamas, and all other islamic and non Islamic radicals and even anti-semite forces in Europe and elsewhere to target Israel. I suggest Israel to send diplomatic mession to Tehran to tell Iran to stop the dirt work. otherwise or tell Iran should ready for full war.
3. Could be - but do terrorists really need a reason
William ,   Israel   (07.19.12)
besides the fact that we're Jewish and Israel exists? That was all they needed for the past 6 decades, and I suspect the real reason here. Iran has no proof tying Israel to their dead scientists, and an investigation by Syria on Mugniyeh's death found several high-level Syrians and 2 "Palestinians" involved, but NO Israelis. Same too with the death of Mabhouh in Dubai. They found several suspects that escaped to Iran by boat and caught 2 "Palestinians" making their way back to Syria, one of them being Hamas.

5. this guy talks like an idiot
milson   (07.19.12)
israel has to shake off some 3000 years of dispersion with its acquired olmertism. it shows itself in the lackof sureness of many of its leaders and journalists-fearfulness, incoherence here in the case of arad, disconnection and run to concessions by barak, absolute fear by haber, olmert, levy and oren of haretz or stupidity by livni. arad is likely unhappy being dumped but makes things worse by talking incoherently.
6. Shame on Arad !
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (07.19.12)
Being authored by former National Security advisor, I find this article by Uzi Arad, cowardly and appalling... "We are the instigating side"? How is it true ? Maybe we just missunderstood the Iranian nazi, when he is promissing Israel's destruction, controls chamas and fattah and is being responsible for the killing of countless innocent Jewish children and civilians around the world and in Israel ? Should we just go back to a gheto mentality and not react, when our People are being targeted for murder ? We never started any wars... Israel proves time and again, that We want to live in peace with all our neighbors..But defend our lives and our sovereignty is our sacred duty...We need to learn to prevent terror attacks at all cost and every deterrence posssible...
7. Mughniyah - An Innocent?
P   (07.19.12)
Mughniyah has been implicated in the 1992 and 1994 bombings in Argentina. He also has been accused of being the instigator and planner of the 1982 Beruit bombings which killed more than 300 US Marines and .French Paras. The trade of innocent lives for one of a terrorist is the terrorist's favourite weapon.
8. Mr Arad The Best Way To Minimize These
(07.19.12)
Tragedies Is To Take Sarah B's Advise. CUT THE HEAD OFF THE snake And Body WILL DIE!!! ברוך שם הא
9. The cost for tailing Obama -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (07.19.12)
- I Quote - Arad declared that "the price of an event like yesterday's is not just in the tragedy it caused, the loss of life and the pain… it is diplomatic costs, governmental costs and the price is just getting higher. Those costs can be minimized." Comment - Exactly as nr 1 has pointed out, elemination. Arn.Sweden.
10. The post at No. 1 is not mine
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.19.12)
Although it does express my view perfectly.
11. hey arad
dumb   (07.19.12)
maybe you can come up for a good reson why they bombed buses in jerusalem. or netanyah? or argentina? or mumbai? who did we kill that justfies that?
12. Arad is correct !
moshe ,   Tivon, Israel   (07.19.12)
Arad is correct ! Priority is crucial. Israel has limited resources. Attacking simulataneously ham, hiz, Sinai terrorists (Al Queda ??) , Nazrallah, depletes military resources that are needed for defense or offense against Iran. Israel must keep its gun powder dry, calm, the Syria is falling apart on its accord. hiz will be next. moshe
13. As #7 says
robins ,   jerusalem   (07.19.12)
Mughniyeh was at a minimum responsible for the attacks in Argentina in 1992 and 1994 that killed over 100 people. Yet somehow Arad thinks we were at fault for getting rid of him and that it is expected and justified that Hezbollah/Iran will go around murdering Israelis anywhere in the world. Even If Arad will now claim he didnt mean that, it will certainly be interpreted as if senior Israeli officials are blaming their own government for the carnage in Bulgaria. Why do our top officials behave so stupidly?
14. it would be interesting
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (07.19.12)
It would be interesting to know what evidence Netanyahu has to blame Iran. I mean, it is good for Obama if the attack was carried out by Iran and not another likely candidate Al Qaeda.
15. proper response
daze ,   US   (07.19.12)
I am not sure what the author is trying to say, but who cares?Read Ronn Torossian's op-ed in Arutz Sheva. With quotes from the great Zionist Ze'ev Jabotinsky, the correct Jewish response is laid out.
16. How to minimize cost of war
Dan ,   Florida - Tel Aviv   (07.19.12)
War is coming. Anyone can see that. The only way to fight and win Iran is to decapitate their leadership both civilian and religious as well as the leadership of the Iranian Guard. Castrated and crying Iran will be impotent to stop any country from destroying Iran's nuclear infrastructure while killing their nuclear ambitions. Free from a disgusting tyranny of black eyed mullahs, the Iranian people can reclaim their country and government and with the help of Israel and the United States help Iran join the group of civilized nations which in the end will offset Syria as Russia & China's client state's value to them.
17. uzi arad
ARI YERISHALMI ,   USA   (07.19.12)
HIS COMMENTS ARE THOSE OF A SICK MIND!
18. ARAD IS STUPID!
ARI YEROSHALMI ,   USA   (07.19.12)
MOSHE YOU ARE DREAMING--AS USUAL!
19. the real question is do we believe Nasrallah or not...
(07.19.12)
Nasrallah issued a statement that Hezballah didn't do this because as he said "Israeli tourists are not a worthy enough target to avenge Mughniyah." So where does that leave us?
20. what stupid ramblings from this man. very stupid
ralph   (07.20.12)
21. How can I help
David ,   Iraq   (07.20.12)
I am frustrated that as a non-Israeli, yet a staunch sympathiser with Israel, that I cannot do much to help but offer my support through this post. Israel is as much my home as it is for Israelis. I am with you every step of the way to overcoming the obstacles you must overcome to allow yourselves to live in peace. I visited Israel earlier this year and then visited an Arab country and could not wait to get back to civilization. May righteousness and democracy help you overcome the forces of darkness that surround you.
22. terror
J. Meyer ,   The Hague, NL   (07.20.12)
The victims were murdered for being Jews, not because they were Israeli's, it is the same old classic story, and we will not live long enough to see the end of that, learn to live with it or hit that scum a hundred times harder, in either case it will never end.
23. How the hell did Arad advance past senior janitor??!!!!!
