It can happen anywhere at any time, in the U.S. in Bulgaria, in Yemen, in Israel. We need to do our best to defend ourselves. Also, we cannot give up living to the fullest our normal lives, to stop going out and have fun. Nor should we start arming ourselves and carry guns when we go out or rifles on a beach. Trusting the professionals to stop terrorists is what we should do. Condolences to the families in Colorado and Israel. May they find consolation in knowing our lives will continue normally.

The professionals!? Most of the deaths in history were done by those you would call professionals. Fascism is alive and well and it has its share in the body counts. In Israel a terrorist only makes a few steps before armed citizens intervene. Visa versa, you would not last in their society with such a wimpy view. Now when you add up the body counts from war perpetrated by professionals, how do they compare? The problem in the US is that a stable society has been decayed. People turn to government and religion to protect them. Look at the Arab nations who turned everything over to a government that promotes terror or radical religious leaders. Think for yourself and your neighbors. More often than not the monsters can be thwarted by not created them. You want respect? I heard this atrocious incident being reported extensively on the BBC World Service earlier today.It was given priority over the schedule.I couldn't help contrasting this to the way that the Burgas attack was reported;low-key and as a later item in the news summary.Yet the Burgas attack was a major terrorist attack at a well known airport. Also,the presenter immediately called the Denver attack terrorism and seemed quite upset when the Denver police stated that there doesn't seem to be any terrorist connection.Yet,the words terrorism,terrorist,etc are ones that never cross the BBC's lips when there are attacks in Israel or on Israelis and Jewish people abroad. The BBC and BBC World Service have a different standard when reporting on Israel,Israelis and Jewish people under attack. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!

You're absolutely right on target with your comment about the BBC. It appears that whenever Israelis are the victims, the word "terrorism" seems to stick in the throats of some of those execrable BBC reporters. Yet they had no problem labeling the attack in Colorado as terrorism...even though it wasn't.

The reason why the comments blame Iran and Hezbollah for the terror attack in Bulgaria is because that's who the hell was responsible and even Pres. Obama agreed with Bibi Netanyahu as to who was behind it. But if it offends your sensibilities to have the Iranians accused of being terrorists...that's just too damned bad.

I think you are being a little unfair. The fact of the matter is that pretty much anyone who wants to purchase an automatic weapon -- or worse -- can by them illegally in every major city. They are not all that hard to find. It's not the legal weapons which create the problem; most licensed gun-owners are responsible individuals; it's the extraordinary number of illegal weapons which are available. I am not a big fan of the NRA, and I question their stance on the Second Amendment -- but there are far more illegal gun owners than there are licensed gun owners.

You have no concept of the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights or the NRA stands for. Here are some statistics – there are 600,000 gun owners in the state of Wisconsin, 700,000 in Michigan, 750,000 in Pennsylvania and 1,500,000 in Illinois – in fact, a Gallop poll taken in 2011 shows that nearly 47% of Americans own a gun. Nobody is more against gun crime than the NRA. It is extremely difficult to legally buy any type of automatic weapon here. There is a lot of red tape and a $200 transfer tax per weapon and those weapons are not cheap to begin with. If the Jews in Europe would have had an NRA history could have been different. It never ceases to amaze me how many Jews fall for the myth that gun control will make you safe. It will only make you a victim. Dictators love gun control because it puts you at their mercy. What are you talking about? Of course the shooting in Colorado was a terrorist attack. Just because the shooter has no immediate ties to some muslim terrorist organisation does not mean he's not a terrorist. Shooting at innocent people by it's very definition is a terrorist attack.
