COLBERT ,   Treadmill, ISS   (07.23.12)
...from their villages, Ikrit and Biram, in Palestine in 1948. "Black September's official name for the operation was "Ikrit and Biram", after the names of two Palestinian Christian villages whose residents had been killed or expelled by the Israeli military Haganah in 1948"

The decision not to stage a minutes silence is down to the IOC, While I am no lover of the UK's warped perception of Israel and its quiet adoration of the Palestinians, this is down to the UK government.
5. During the Arab Hebron massacre of Jews the Brits did not
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.23.12)
help and the defenceless Jews who had lived there for many centuries had to flee. Now Jews can do their own fighting.

ris ,   usa   (07.23.12)
It is a terror act of murder. There is no and can not be, any justification for this murder.
8. London Mayor has said on Twitter there will be 1 min silence
David   (07.23.12)
Ynet won't report this because it's not part of their agenda.

solomon ,   bklyn   (07.23.12)
Ah yes, the Munich Massacre (aka murders) was in retaliation for the arabs leaving their homes voluntarily at the behest of the invading arab armies, who promised they would be able to return soon. Yes, murder in retaliation for leaving a place of ones own free will, and alive to boot. Very typical of the Muslim understanding of equivalency...and of yours.
10. 2 issues: the IOC and Colbert's(#3) reply
Mahlon Drumgoole ,   Newark NJ USA   (07.23.12)
First, it is important to understand the IOC's history of spinelessness, antisemitism, and racism going all the way back to the 1912 Olympics. Jim Thorpe, an American indian and the greatest athlete of his day was stripped of his medals because he played baseball for a minor league team. Other white American athletes who did the same thing were overlooked. In 1936, the Olympic games were held in Berlin despite Hitler's monstrous antisemitism. Avery Brundage, the long-time President of the IOC refused to consider moving the games from the nazi capital---even though Hitler's brutality and persecution of Germany's Jews was well known. Now the IOC refuses to have 1 minute of silence in memory of the murdered Israeli athletes only because they are afraid of the reaction of Islamic countries. Some political=free olympics. As far as Colbert, it is amazing that people like him continue to follow Goebbel's big lie theory---repeat a lie often enough and it becomes a fact to most people. Black September was named after the infamous period of timewhen Jordan made war on the PLO because they were undermining the regime's stability. The members were all nothing but murderers who enjoyed killing defenseless athletes because they were Jewish.
11. Opening Ceremony REsponse
Ellen ,   Netanya/NYC   (07.23.12)
The official Israeli uniform at the opening ceremonies should be that Israeli athletes are wearing shirts that each have a large picture of one of the Israeli victims of 40 years ago. I am sick and tired of the world's willingness to stick its' head in the sand and not acknowledge what is done to Israelis simply because they are Israeli--because the world needs to kiss the rear ends of the Arabs and their supporters.

their houses was made by Haj Amin AL-husseini arafat unkle in 1948, the munchen massacre happened more than dacade after, got nothing to do with arafat's unkle call, the reason he did that so he can get better aim and kill jews. he was Nazi. yep palis got active Nazi past.
14. #3 you are going down a dangerous path
PaulZion ,   Israel   (07.23.12)
There was no massacre at these villages. In 1948, they were evacuated because they were being used to harbor terrorist infiltrators from Lebanon. There was a promise to allow them to return when the security situation allowed it. That eventuality never materialized - guess why?! Big surprise there, I bet. So, to kill 11 Israeli athletes and an international event seems a proportionate response to you? That's weak. As usual, it was just another excuse to kill Jews - and if it wasn't Ikrit, they would have come up with something else.
15. @3 Yeah buddy... Holocaust for Jesus...

Shame, shame on you,. They were great athletes. Would you recognize them if they were not Jewish?! Would you recognize them if they were your own children? SHAME ON YOU!

Moshe of Rockville ,   Rockville,MD USA   (07.23.12)
Why should the JEWISH STATE allow those refugee Palestinians to return to their villages, because their Palestinian brethren lost the war of annihilation against the independent, sovereign nation of Israel? Maybe they wanted a second chance to (at this time period, a 6th or 7th chance) to make life very difficult to the Israelis.

BEN JABO (MACHAL) ,   ISRAEL   (07.24.12)
It doesn't matter whch alias you use, it's always accompnanied by your lies "Arabs Urged to Flee from Palestine in 1948: Arab and Independent Sources Document That Arab Leaders Urged Palestinians to Leave "The fact that there are these refugees is the direct consequence of the act of the Arab states in opposing partition and the Jewish state. The Arab states agreed upon this policy unanimously and they must share in the solution of the problem." -- Emile Ghoury, secretary of the Palestinian Arab Higher Committee, in an interview with the Beirut Telegraph September 6, 1948. (same appeared in The London Telegraph, August 1948) "The most potent factor [in the flight of Palestinians] was the announcements made over the air by the Arab-Palestinian Higher Executive, urging all Haifa Arabs to quit... It was clearly intimated that Arabs who remained in Haifa and accepted Jewish protection would be regarded as renegades." -- London Economist October 2, 1948 "It must not be forgotten that the Arab Higher Committee encouraged the refugees' flight from their homes in Jaffa, Haifa, and Jerusalem"
