Mike ,   Ramat Gan   (07.23.12)

Shlomo Dan   (07.23.12)
Stupid Kadima & Labour worry only about how to gain votes and grab power. Meanwhile Iran is laughing at the internal Israeli squabbles and proceeding full speed ahead with the bomb. Only Netanyahu & Likud can guarantee the security of Israel. Attack Iran immediately before its too late.

Anthony ,   us   (07.23.12)

God forbid what will happen to this country when a real crisis comes. i missed the old leaders. i miss u Ariel Sharon. these leaders are just worried about their tiny chairs. grow up! look at the people! look around you! the enemies are circling you and swallowing their full of haltered saliva. wake up before its too late damn it!

19. Bibi the magician
PaulZion ,   Israel   (07.23.12)
It is truly amazing how many tricks this man has up his sleeve when it comes to his political survival. Heaven forbid he should address one of the real crises we are facing and make a bold decision! Just more illusion and survival tactics. The fact that it will cost us, the public an extra 12 million! NIS per year - all in the light of the Finance Minister announcing that the government deficit is so large that they will have to up taxes, shows just how much respect he has for the people he says he is "honored to lead". Way to go Bibi. Wishing for the day when Bibi becomes byebye.

zionist forever   (07.23.12)
Let them join Likud under the Israeli system their political future will depend on how high they feature on the Likud party list and its the membership that decides that not Bibi. If they were give a spot within the top 10 then they would have a pretty good chance of getting seats but if they were in the 20s or higher their chances of winning Knesset seats at the next election as slim to zero. Right now Bibi is buying them off to help pass legislation because right now they have Knesset seats so serve a purpose but after the election they won't serve any purpose ( they are disposable ). As far as the Kadima party itself goes it would have been nice for the sake of democracy if we had a third mainstream party because now we are going to be back to the old stale politics of Likud / Labor coalitions backed by single issue parties. Whilst we had Kadima there was somebody else to work but now its going to be back to the same parties every election and all that changes is the positions individual MKS hold. Right now Bibi is playing smart politics because the more legislation he can pass before the election the better his chances and right now you combine the fact that Likud & Kadima couldn't come to an agreement on the Tal Law reform Bibi has been left looking like a haredi lacky and you combine that with the social justice protests and Bibi's chances of being PM after the next election are not good.
21. Think about it
Ehud ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (07.23.12)
The sad truth is that these politicians are just a reflection of our society. Sad but true, lets hope that we show ourselves in better light in the next elections and get new and better leaders. If not, its the beginning of the end.
22. our politics have always worked this way
Yael ,   Tel Aviv   (07.23.12)
Nothing new here, people. Politicians always maneuver to shore up personal advantage and power. Look at Barak. He sold the Labour party down the river, utterly destroying the party and then rather than giving up his position as Defense Minister when the party bolted, pulled enough MKs from it to start a tiny new party and those who went with him got similar deals to these Kadima folks. Mofaz spent years undermining and backstabbing Livni to take over as top dog in Kadima, etc. Nothing new under the sun here.
23. I am sick of this political meandering.
vicky ,   Ashkelon   (07.23.12)
I do not vote for politicians to vie for positions in the Kenneset. I vote for the policies. I think it is sick and very, very unprofessional to put your own personal aims ahead of the people. WE WANT ALLLLLLLLLL TO SERVE IN THE IDF. Why should OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS risk their lives when we have CERTAIN fractions that do NOT believe in their own countries existence so that they can LIVE OFF the HARD WORKING majority. MAKE them serve. MAKE them work. And stop giving them hand outs. from OUR purses. To the members of Kdima, Histradout and the other pitiful beings that call them selves politians get off their arses and do whats good FOR THE COUNTRY and not how to get a 3 storey villa
24. Time for a whole new more democratic system..........!!!!!!!
Jason ,   Israel   (07.23.12)
Whereby politicians are elected by and directly accountable to the people. This system of Fred Flintstone shuffles the shells and everything goes to keep your seat has to stop. Nothing but pure bribery, payoffs and corruption and the people who get screwed are THE PEOPLE.
25. Dirty political deals
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.23.12)
Only one lesson to be learned from this Likud-Kadima political sewer....Don't whine ! Simply don't vote for them again
26. More bribery and dirty back room deals......Israeli politics
Same Old ,   Same Old   (07.23.12)
as USUAL.............
27. Bibi has no shame, the man would bend
Dyslexic..... ,   Israel....   (07.23.12)
down forwards too get what he wants. One thing is for sure he always catches the other politicians with there pants down. The best thing now for Israel is too go for elections and maybe if we are lucky there will be a change.
28. the problem is not bibi its the political system
zionist forever   (07.23.12)
We have a system of coalition government where it is impossible to form a government without a coalition ( doing deals with other parties ). The result is the average coalition last 2 - 2.5 years then we must once again spend millions on an election and the same parties all get together again to form a new coalition until they have another falling out and call for an election. Bibi is a victim of a failed political system which is why he has to work this way. Israeli politics is about doing back room deals. We need a system where we have 3 mainstream parties ( no single issue ones ) and the party that wins the most seats gets to run the country alone for a fixed term that will allow political maturity and the real power will not lie in the hands of single issue parties and opportunists. All MKS should also be directly elected which would stop the likes of Yair Lapid forming his own party to take a fast track to the top. Lapid's supporters might vote for him the man the party is built around ) but if the MKS are elected individually locally just because people in one district like Lapid doesn't mean all the others they have never heard of will be elected. Right now we more parties that we can deal with & not enough Knesset seats to be filled by them all. With all the single issue parties we already have and all the extra ones that come along at each election its not going to be long before we find ourself with an election result that leaves most seats in the hands of single issue parties. Israel's system makes a mockery of the idea of democracy and thats not anybodies fault and people like Bibi are just trying to work in a failed system.
29. coalition gov=political bribary
nadav ,   tlv   (07.23.12)
Israel should just get rid of the coalition government model, it is a disaster in most countries, but here is is even worse because of sectarian politics. Israel needs a parliament and government based on constituent representation. To call what the PM "political bribery" holds no water since a coalition system is entirely based on political bribery! the PM is just doing his job (And a good one at that!)
30. Watchout for the backlash
Ajax ,   Israel   (07.23.12)
Last time the Likud was poised to win elections, Bibi ended up losing on the finish line to Livni. He only became PM thanks to the weakness of the left and the usual bribe game. This time around, polls are again giving Bibi a landslide victory, but the number of Likud voters sick of his cynicism is growing fast. Methinks Bibi's up for another surprise upset.
