1. Stop the child allowance to families that

did not serve in the security forces. Stop the elderly and sick from making aliyah. Cut welfare to drug addicts and alcoholics. Stop paying families of prisoners. Cut the size of all government "workers". Let them look for honest and productive work. Tax all those that never served in the I.D.F. and their children. No more money to non Zionist groups. Cut the size of the cabinet by 50%!
2. keep Israel green and beautiful
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.26.12)
I am all for raising taxes on luxury items especially cigarettes which also are harmful. I think Israel has grown to be a really well cared for country because of the large budget. Compare to Los Angeles where I come from which rarely does any new public work and cares little about the welfare of its citizens. The average tax is about 6%. I support higher luxury taxes and lower taxes on basic foods.

phrase Orwell) ??!! Threre is a certain limit to the amount of abuse even the lowliest social strata is willing to take. -That has been the undoing of all 'Empires"! Take away peoples money: it can be done; take away theit hopes & dreams: it can be done; take away their booze & fags: BLOODY REVOLUTION & destruction!!!!!

Soon even countries like Norway, Switzerland or Singapore will look cheap in comparison to Israel. But I guess Netanyahu & Steinitz simply need more money for the non-working Orthodox, right !?
5. Tax beer and tobacco all you want
Ethan ,   Eilat   (07.26.12)
stop taxing food.
6. so cease smoking and lay back on the booze
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (07.26.12)
Smoking is very bad for your health, and rather disgusting besides. The resulting yellow teeth are the very least of the problem.
7. #6 - Right...
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.26.12)
And when everyone stops smoking & drinking, do you think that'll be the end of that "tax"? No, then they'll have to tax something else, & when we stop using that, then something else. Eventually it will come down to taxing the very things you can't live without like food, water, etc. You liberals just don't get it. Just because the government isn't strong-arming you now doesn't mean you're off their radar. Believe it, when they have no one else to extort, they'll be more than happy to put the squeeze on their faithful zealots.
8. #1 I agree with you on most, BUT

lets say my father survived the holocaust, came to America to rebuild his life, is left a widower and alone and has always been active in supporting Israel, including raising LOTS of money for schools, hospitals, trees, etc. Would you deny him his last wish to be buried in Eretz Yisrael? That story was fiction, this one is true: My daughter has an illness that prevented her from serving in the IDF, even though she wanted to. Is she guilty for inheriting something that prevented her from serving? Why should she be taxed AND her children? Think you better ease off the megalomania a bit and look at reality. Not enough money? Do you know how much taxes YOU pay a year to keep "palestinian" terrorists alive in prison? Might want to check that out b

"If you drive a car, I'll tax the street, If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat. If you get too cold I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet." "'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman And you're working for no one but me."
10. I was surprised to learn that #7
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (07.26.12)
up/downgraded my status to that of 'liberal'. What exactly is being meant by that with regards to my post is, however, perfectly unclear to me. If my advise to cease tarring ones lungs constitutes being liberal (a word that everyone uses nowadays to describe a vast variety of things, it seems, and sometimes in a rather contradictory fashion), then I suppose I am.
