31. #28 mr myopia - excuse me...
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.26.12)
but which biblical scholars, how many biblical scholars (are you sure you should be using the plural), idenfify which “two mountains of uncertain location”?! You are reading from your own book. Doesn’t wash.
32. #29 mr myopia
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.26.12)
You in no way respond to, let alone answer, post #5. You speak of laws which are not the common law. Your post has nothing to do with the Temple. Typical of one who can’t respond.
33. #30 jake - thank you for proving my point;
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.26.12)
that you think you speak for everyone, but you don’t. Many in Israel agree with you. But many do not. I advise you to speak to only those who do. It’s the best way to leave your illusion undisturbed.
34. #29, pure lies -- no source links provided

Mr Observer, You are mistaking Islamic dhimmi laws with Jewish resident-alien laws. There is absolutely no such rule that non-Jewish resident-aliens must be subjugated and humiliated. As per Jewish law, non-Jewish resident aliens living in Israel, must abide by the 7 Noahide laws, specifically they must not practice idol worship, and they do not have political rights. These rules are perfectly acceptable if one understands that Judaism is the national ethos of Israel. If an immigrant to Israel does not accept the yoke of Judaism, he/she is considered an alien, since accepting Judaism the only true litmus test for an aspiring immigrant to Israel -- or a resident-alien who wants political rights. Yes, Israel has many citizens that do not accept Torah and/or are even atheist, just as the USA has many citizens who do not accept the Constitution and even express communist views. However the USA would not grant citizenship to a new immigrant that expresses communist views in his/her citizenship application. By understanding that the Jewish people are a nation, many questions are easy to answer.
35. #33, rebuilding the Temple is a Jewish law (Torah not Oral)
Jake ,   USA   (07.26.12)
Any Jew that does not consider it a priority has a serious lack of commitment to the faith. Yes, there may be millions that fall into this category, which is quite sad & disheartening for the truly faithful.
36. Number 28 Temple Mount
Joseph ,   London UK   (07.26.12)
We have an unbroken tradition that the Temple stood on the present Temple Mount. We don't need archaeologists to argue about the location. Jews have lived in Jerusalem for three millennia. Crusaders built their cathedral on the Temple Mount, just as earlier Romans had built a pagan Temple and Muslims had built a mosque. We all share the same tradition as to the location.

solomon ,   bklyn   (07.27.12)
We also have laws regarding stoning, and the right to harm someone for committing murder even if it was unintentional IF he can't reach one of the cities of sanctuary in time. The only stonings I hear about are in Muslim countries. BTW: Your post #34 is great and to the point. Nice.

#28 Egyptian observer the two mountains and their location should be clear to you: Khufu and Khafraa
39. big budget speaks volumes
observer ,   Egypt   (07.27.12)
The materials assembled for the temple included 100,000 talents of gold and 1,000,000 talents of silver. The estimated value of this material today would fall in the 56 billion dollar range. This is about double the world production of gold today for a whole year. The United States today produces about 40 tons of gold per year, or about 1% of the amount utilized in the construction of Israel's first Temple.
40. #39, fund-raising is the least of our problems
Jake ,   USA   (07.27.12)
It would be an honor for millions of Jews & non-Jews alike, to contribute to the rebuilding of the Temple. The motivation for such an effort would be unprecedented.
41. Egyptian Observer
sab3 ,   USA   (07.27.12)
We can start with the gold that is available on site. It originated from he temple anyway.

I'm sure every Zionist's main concern is how the BBC will perceive our actions... NOT. The BBC seems to be in a heated competition with with NY Times as to who can be the most anti Israel. Fact is, whether Jews or Israel does anything or not, if BBC needs a story, they will write one, always to make Israel out to be wrong. They are without credibility.

Moragh   (07.31.12)
Are you Jewish, Marilyn? I ask because you seem to be having a nightmare at the mention of a Jewish Temple. Go ahead Israel build your longed for Temple. I think I'd be the first to visit it.
44. I'd Love to see the Temple
Moragh   (07.31.12)
in its original form. How wondeful that would be. Please, no super modern buildings!

I spent some time in Lebanon. I knew there was going to be a big "barbecue" coming up quite soon. I was invited and attended the "ritual"..... I wasn't too happy watching that piece of work but several hours later the Lamb was delicious. I shall never forget the experience.
