1. Two-States No Longer Viable
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (07.27.12)
The concept of two states that includes a West Bank Component is no longer a viable possibility. Contiguity of a state is necessary for viability and that is something that can no longer be achieved for Palestinians. Independence, sovereignty and contiguity are all needed to make statehood viable. Absent any one of the three, some other and much more difficult options have to be considered. Congrats to Likud, two-states is dead.
2. The Arabs are delusional
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.27.12)
They go around the world begging for the international community to give them a state. They haven't figured out that statehood is not created that way. One actually has to do something to create their own state and Arabs are far to lazy and stupid to do that. The reality is that it is our land and the UN and the rest of the international community cannot give it to anybody. It's not theirs to give. They can have their state - just not on our lands.
3. The Palestinian lie will NEVER be realized!
Taz Man ,   USA   (07.27.12)
ALL Israel belongs to the Jews!
4. pALESTINIANS
j ROSS ,   CANADA   (07.27.12)
Indeed teh palis live in the virtual world where everything works out ok. Reality is this. They resist negotiations because they do not want to be held accountable to the Arab world for their concessions which they know they will have to make. ten months of no construction from ISrael yielded no concessions from teh palis and no attendance at teh negotiation table. Do they really want a state. Or do they simply want teh world to give them one. Since they were since before 1928 the first Nakba under the Ottoman Turks when they kept the population of what is today west bank gaza etc they were Syrians and were being kept by Turks from getting back to greater Syria. Palestinians as a people in name is a fiction that arafat promulgated. In fact what are today's Palestinians are actually Syrians
5. Israel was in a virtual reality before 1948
Yousef ,   Hebron ,Palestine   (07.27.12)
lovers of Zion movement , Hertzl's the Jewish state Belfore declaration ........etc .were small steps in establishing the Israeli state whithout negotiating with Arabs then ,who can we blame ? Irrational
6. Recognition a reward for desecration by Arab
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.27.12)
terrorists of the Church of Nativity. UNESCO elected "Palestine" illegally but it is part of the Moslem bloc controlled UN theater of the absurd,so anything goes.
7. Pals playing diplomatic games until Arabs ready to attack
Sam ,   Canada   (07.27.12)
The Palestinians simply don't want to accept a Jewish Israel so they are trying to do a diplomatic snow job on a gullible West until the Arab armies are ready to attack. They hope the West will get them something in return for nothing. There is not much Israel can do but the West pressures Israel to suck up to the Palestinians with gestures. An increasing number of settlers has a better chance of getting Palestinians to compromise in order to stop them from coming.
8. Moses Was a Palestinian
Noah Lev ,   LosangelesUSA   (07.27.12)
Lets face it the so-called Palestinian people never had it so good, even with the Israeli "fence", embargo of dual purpose goods (cement) and security patrols in the W.Bk. They are promised more billions from abroad ( when the other countries open up their wallets as promised) virtual unconditional support from the world's forums and agencies, work in Israel proper and in the territories by Jewish employers, a majority of the world's countries believing peace can be achieved if only Israel...no demands on them by anyone to conform to the Roadmap and Oslo, a refutation of all agreements however futile ( UNSC and GA approach for statehood), 100plus smuggling tunnels into the Strip from Egypt, Egyptian control of the border with Gaza, and an Israel which is divided.into separate religious streams, nationistic goals, and petty arguments over the prices of cottage cheese and nursery schools, not including 1m people who think of themselves as the only Jews, by studying Torah 24-7 and contributing nothing to the country but threats to leave. (Dual citizenship) . Under the rule of Egypt and Jordan..think back what they were given, besides poor utilities and no hope for anything and no sewage control. But then again, its all the Jews fault..per the intl monetary groups...its the Jews (Israel) that are hindering Pales growth and development. Its all Israel's doing. Yeah, and Moses was a Palestinian.
9. In fifteen years...
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (07.27.12)
...you will wake up in a binational state. Your wet dream of pushing the Palestinian out hasn't materialized. Your nightmare of losing the Jewish state is in advanced stages. THE GOYIM WILL BE ROLLING WITH LAUGHTER.
10. who is suprised
Yisraeli   (07.27.12)
when you deal and try to add legitimacy to a non entity - an illusion. all you did was create a virtual palestinian nation that never existed and never will.......and yet you still feel you have something to discuss with an illusion? The joke is on you (us ie israel).
11. Yusuf if you only wanted your own state, you could
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.27.12)
have had it 64 years ago. Many times over.. Its no secret you want no Israeli state, only the army of useful idiots believe you want peaceful coexistence . You weren't asked? It was not yours.! The overwhelming majority of land in Palestine belonged to the rulers, Ottomans then British. Arabs got the vast majority of the mandate before partition.Your problem was and is the Jews having any "Arab lañd" as PA calls ALL mandate Palestine or "Sacred Islamic Waqf"as Hamas calls IT ALL. When are you going to send suicide bombers to Jordan to "liberate" ALL Palestine? You don't because that's Arab. That is the real issue!

13. Perhaps we should also be looking at other solutions
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (07.27.12)
During the Bill Clinton Presidency a group of Palestinians in the UK and West Bank were tasked to look at other possible solutions for a viable Palestinian State One which was talked about earnestly but never got any further than the drawing board (though formally submitted to Bill Clinton) was based on having one unbroken land area based in Gaza with additional territory roughly equivalent to the area of the West Bank in the Gaza and Sinai sold to Palestine and some of the Negev exchanged for land in the West Bank. This to be financed by Israel and the World Community. Israel would also provide reparations for fifty years for the new State of Palestine and for the families uprooted...whilst retaining some of the West Bank Why it seems to be relevant now is that to all intents and purposes Gaza and West Bank are like two separate countries..culturally and ideologically and politically and I sense too far apart for there ever to be joined at the hip Had any Palestinian Talkbacker come across this plan?
14. #8 Actually Moses was a Saudi

15. to# cynic
Marcelo ,   BA/Berlin/TLV   (07.27.12)
Moses was Ivri, not saudi. Sorry, but your robbed story about a murder guy killing jews in the saudi peninsula, raping little girls and then going to your sky with 70 virgins is not going anywhere as the lie is discovered....
16. to# 9 Avi
Marcelo ,   BA/Berlin/TLV   (07.27.12)
In fifteen years there will still be Israel as a jewish country as it was fifteen years ago with jews as majority. Iran and other killer nations will help Israel as they will rocket arabs as well, in any case. So, stay in USA. It is more sure that in fifteen years no jew will be able to take a walk in USA due to the moslem invaders...
17. the writer is right, the 1967 Palestine does not exisit
Fadi ,   PALESTINE   (07.27.12)
Cause the current Palestinian Leadership forgot the real Palestine- Historical Palestine, from river to see. Yes, this is not an illusion now. This is a fact. Palestine is occupied by Israel and a two-state solution for sure does not work anymore and is not valid. the genious writer is still critcizing the most peaceful Palestinian and Arab leadership, who has always denounced violence, and who has been seeking any peaceful means to resolve this conflict, and yet, cousins are not satisfied. Good luck then with the coming generations.
18. #13.Its not this plan or that plan.Idea is to get rid of Isr
Alan ,   SA   (07.27.12)
and all Jews and Christians now living there... However,I dont believe it will come to pass!
19. Divorced from reality
Richard ,   Manchester   (07.27.12)
The Palestinians are completely divorced from reality. To think UNESCO's decision is an important milestone just goes to show delusional they are.

Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (07.27.12)
Blame yourselves. You were offered a state and you refused.
21. #17 Palestinian peaceful ways are BS
Sam ,   Canada   (07.27.12)
The Palestinians expect Israel to hand over the country to them. This is what they mean by peaceful Palestinian ways. You can wait forever for that. All Jews know it will never happen. If you want the country you will have to come get it. No one is handing the country to you.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.12)
Mind telling me when there has ever in history been a country called "Palestine?" Was it a monarchy? Did it have parliamentary representation? What was its capital city? You people invented yourselves by co-opting the identity as "Palestinians" from the only true Palestinians -- the Jewish people. Must I remind you that you people came out on the losing end of six wars -- all of them started by your "peaceful Arab leadership" -- and seven decades of unremitting terror. Face it -- you're a vanquished people. You are not our "cousins" -- you bear no DNA similarities to the Jewish people. Your closest relatives are in the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert. Now, behave, or we will send you back home to your REAL cousins. You can set up your "country" in some remote corner of the vast Saudi desert, and good luck. We're sick to death of you violent, primitive jackals.
23. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.27.12)
Just once, you can try placing blame where it belongs: on yourselves. The ersatz "Palestinians" have always been their own worst enemy. Just don't expect Israel to roll over and play dead for you. You're a fractious, violent rabble. Grow up, accept responsibility for your mistakes, chalk it up to experience, and move on. We've had quite enough of your nonsense.
24. pouring cold water
tiki ,   belgium   (07.27.12)
The only body putting some reality in this abnormal world was the World Bank, telling the so called Palestinan & their accomodating friends that they are not ready to have a state, for they are nothing more than a bunch of beggars. So, where does this leave the Church of Nativity and all the other 'international reckognized Palestinian historic heritage in Palestine", when there is no Palestine? Why aren't they kicked out of the UNESCO, the Olympics and all the other places where a territory of liars & terrorists all of a sudden is catapulted into a country. This is the real story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin, where all the children (world) are running after some fraudulous piper player (Pallies).
25. Palestine is fictional in every way.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.27.12)
Fictional economy. Fictional government. Fictional state. It would be more realistic to treat Oz and Neverland as states. There is no way Israelis will be fooled again. Not one inch of Israeli sand for fictional Palestine.
26. #22
Jonathan ,   MN/US   (07.28.12)
regarding Your "repartition" plan Sarah If Israel could have legally sent the Palestinians to Jordan at any time (and i'm assuming you think that) why didn't you do so back in 1967 or any other time in the past... what has it been? 50? 60? ah whatever the point I'm trying to make Sarah is that if Israel could have legally removed the Palestinians from the west bank you would have done so a long time ago.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.28.12)
I invite you to inform us what history I allegedly invented. Please provide some documentation with respect to Arab interlopers in Palestine EVER having been considered "Palestinian." That's a term that was always reserved to identify Jews, and census records going back several hundred years provide more than ample proof. But you go ahead, anyway. Legitimate, documented sources. I'm not interested in some cheap, facile Arab textbook -- for lack of a better word -- "facts."
