It could be the Palestinians do not even want a separate Palestinian state now because their game plan is to wait until a clear Muslim majority in all of historic Palestine, including Israel, (very soon) and then demand majority rule, saying that Gaza and the West Bank are nothing more than bantustans. Recent influx of refugees from Sudan and Eritrea into Israel can help with this by tilting the balance and making it possible to claim that Israel is just a label for Jewish minority rule in Palestine. Then they will demand sanctions against Israel for denying them the right to vote, just as in former white South Africa. Israel should have a clear plan how to deal with this because the quiet indicates this is what is coming.
