I've never seen a "Palestinian" get "pulled into a civil war". Usually, they're active participants, usually on the wrong side. Everywhere they go, they seem to get involved in domestic tensions and try to take advantage of them, then cry when they're tossed out on their asses. They did this in Iraq/Kuwait, Jordan, and most notably, in Lebanon during the Civil War in which the PLO carved out their own autonomous zone and terrorized local residents, as well as Israelis across the border. There is a reason this "population" is often rejected by their own kind.

It is a good time for the Kurds in Syria to ask for independence from the Arabs. The Druze should also ask for their homeland. And the Shiite(Alawites) and Sunnis should have their own enclaves.
