1. You are criminals
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.27.12)
The Israeli government are criminals extorting the people through confiscatory taxes to prop up failed socialist policies & greedy politicians on the backs of the working class. You're just making it more clear that diaspora Jews need to stay in their host countries and not make aliyah if they expect to even have a chance at fair taxation. The policies of the corrupt government are driving up the prices of everything and making it hard to eek out a decent life. It's time for the Israeli Jews to revolt against this injustice.

3. So even with a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering...
Beautiful Haifa   (07.27.12)
Now with the income tax increase, instead of earning a salary the equivalent of a veteran American grocery store cashier, I will be earning the equivalent of a green recruit cashier. Yay!!! The priorities of the government and the people in the nation of Israel are all wrong. They are backward. There is no general feeling here that the government invests in its people. What hope do they have? Makes me question my Zionism. Is Zionism dead? Is it worth it? Do we, as Jews, stand a chance of not ruining this country that generations of Jews built and are building? Frustrating.
4. #3 - Precisely
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.27.12)
I only have an AS in Computer Science and some certifications & I make over $100K/yr in the US. In Israel, with the pitiful salaries & extreme taxes, I'd starve. NO THANKS! I've been accused of not being "pro-Israel" because I wouldn't sacrifice a good life to live in squalor in Israel. The real question is "why should I have to?" Israel could very easily change her policies and more Jews would come. I'm fighting hard enough trying to keep my current country from falling off the socialist end of the world so why would I want to immigrate to one that's already done so?
5. To nr 1 and nr 3 - Absolutely 100% correct!
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.27.12)
Netanyahu should pass an anti trust law in the Knesset to prevent, block or hinder future monopolies and force the oligarchs of Israel to sell their shares and split their companies into several smaller competing companies, driving prices for groceries down while the quality goes up to maintain the competition. The Netanyahu government should also pass laws that will facilitate the purchase of land, construction permits and laws preventing the existence of unnecessary regulations regarding real estate and property. Once bureaucracy is limited for building permits, land purchase, I'm sure that prices for real estate will decline. Real estate and groceries are kept at artificially high prices that violate the free market. Netanyahu should also lower income tax - not increase it. People should be encouraged to work. And our country shouldn't fund issues related to culture, leisure, museums or places of worship. This should be strictly privatized. Israel shouldn't even fund yeshivas, synagogues, churches or mosques. These things ought to be privatized or managed locally by the local municipalities through local tax money. I think it's about time that the state authorities stop sucking out the money of Israeli taxpayers and start to focus entirely on the essentials only such as the defense, education/schools/universities, science/technology, hospitals, infrastructure and leave the "soft" stuff to privatization. There are many things in Israel that are subsidized by taxmoney that could do just fine being privatized while businesses that could be potentially profitable are strangled financially by the oligarchs. I agree with both of you. And to Amichai in the US: you don't have to apologize for feeling the way you do. Zionism and Jewish patriotism in all glory, but life for Israel's citizens should be made more comfortable, safe, secure and profitable.
6. A lot of Nerve!
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (07.28.12)
Before stretching us further, please explain how this tax raise, makes sense? How can you raise our taxes, while so many of our able work force are exempt? Studying Torah is important, but when it is accomplished on the backs of the greater population, limits must exist! Don't even talk about crushing us further, while giving so many a free ride. This is not a rational decision, and we deserve better leadership.
7. Its rather obvious..more money for the orthoquack who
Al   (07.28.12)
will support Netanyahu in the next elections thru some coalition. Netanyahu is all about himself, his power, his ego. This guy have been riding on the wings of his dead hero brother for over 36 years. There is nothing very complicated about him. Israel is blwoing the one chance it has had over the past 60 YEARS OF becoming a technology giant. The more you tax, the less you attract talented people. There is a sea of talented Jewish people in the world who would love to come and live in Isreal, myself included but I am reluctant to do so because 1) I dont want people to bug my ass trying to be my accountant. 2) I cant stand schnorrers and in Israel you have armies of them. So no thanks.
8. How come we do not hear about the

future revenues we will receive from off shore natural gas and our oil? Does it actually exist? Or was it another scheme to get money from the government? Stop paying money to all those that never served in the security forces!
9. Bibi was right
Miche Norman ,   Hod Hasharon   (07.28.12)
For years Bibi lectured about the importance of lowering taxation so as to boost the economy and now he does exactly the opposite - raising a number of questions. 1. Is he lying now or was he lying them? 2. Does he understand that he is once again screwing the Zionists in order to provide for anti-zionists? 3. Does he know where his Kupat Holim is? Why - because he needs a testosterone injection to pretend to be a man, Instead of raising taxes cut transferring money to irresponsible parasites who want us to subsidize their lifestlyes

Did it ever occur to you that the crazy old vet routine might be getting old in and of itself? Find something else to talk about for once and let the religious live their lives.
