1. Haredi " whats a job" ?
Haim ,   TA   (07.31.12)
2. employment problems of charadim
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (07.31.12)
As a charadi who works in the general job force for many many years, the major problem with charadim entering is that most secular employees do not want them. There is more discrimination here than I experienced in USA. When a charadi man comes for an interview, they are nice and then give the standard "We have more people to interview. We will contact you if we decide to take you." This can be true, but often it is a brush off due to discrimination that is almost impossible to prove.
3. They must realize real world is unlike haredi world
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (07.31.12)
When I was younger and looking for a job, if it happened that I'd need to be able to work on Saturday and I told him I wouldn't be able to do it, that pretty much ended my prospects. That's the real world. After spending a few years in gender segregated study environments, haredi graduates soon appreciate that almost every workplace has people of both sexes, that their customers, clients and business associates are of both sexes, and that their modesty rules don't apply. If they can't handle that, then it's clear "we have nothing for you".
4. #3, twice off base
Naftush ,   Israel   (08.01.12)
First, American employers have a good track record in respecting employees' religious needs. Second, it's a Jewish state here and only in sad exceptions do employers put candidates in such a quandary. As for why those described in the article are having a hard time finding work, the professions mentioned are glutted countrywide.
5. well, haredim cause further costs often.
Ze'ev   (08.01.12)
Haredim often wants a haredi fit workspace, that means the costs per jobspace a higher, no business owner is interessted in having higher costs as necessary.
