1. Long term solution to Israel's security is Palestine Israel
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (07.31.12)
...not Greater Israel, not more weapons and hardening of targets, not co-opting America to fight your wars, or UN Veto your enemies, but Israel's eternal security will only come through true freedom and equality, in all of Palestine, not just the Jewish majority parts.

Your like a broken record. True peace comes through the palestinians ability to recognise the Sovereign state of Israel.I walk down streets in Jerusalem with Arabs and Christians each on there way to respective places of prayer. There is no conflict, only amongst Radicals and they must be silenced. Why dont you critisize hamas and their role on rocketing southern Israel on a daily basis
3. A Good Defense is Worth the Shekels

Long term solution...as some would say, is a peace between Jew and Palestinian. Forgotten are Iran's threats, Hamas, Hez, etc. who state w/o hesitation that the solution is to wipe out Israel ( or have Israel somehow disappear). No peace can ever be achieved, with that attitude in the wider Muslim world. And assuming there is some sort of compromise between Israel/Palestinian Authority..what good is it? It's like saying, lets beat Italy..then we can have peace ( with the Axis powers). Or, defeating Germany, meant Japan would surrender ( it didnt). This conflict is not, and never was about the so-called Palestinian Arabs..its about Israel's existence and Jewish sovereignty in the M.E. Fortifying dozens of sensitive places..is a move in the right direction..as are the fences, tank shields, Iron Dome, David's Sling and even a few Charedi brigades (5,000 per) for less dangerous duty (getting everyone involved). Israel may be moving 1 step fwd with this announcement, but the ultra-Orthodox refusal to aid their country with nonsensical excuses..is moving it backwards. My solution, dual citizens should go back home (stop the charity to them), while giving THEIR benefits to those that have more sense. AND build those concrete barriers high. Peace may someday be attained..but dont hold your breath folks.

5. How long will this take exactly?

How nice to know that we're not leaving anything till the last minute. If Israel plans to attack Iran in the coming weeks, then don't all these preparations need to be finished by then? It's so reassuring that since Israel's long-range planning is always sooooo thorough and professional there's nothing to worry about.
