The problem of Jerusalem is, that the West, especially US, has kept the dictators in place to keep the US-Petrodollar as a single world reserve currency, which actually provides for the US financial power. On the one hand, Israel appreciates the help US is providing, but the Americans can do it only, as long as oil is traded in US-Dollar, which only can be maintained by securing the safety of the dictators like in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, who on the other hand, hinder for over 70 Years the modernization of the Arab societies. After the surprising events in Tunisia US went even to destabilize Libya, Syria, Egypt to distract from the same uprisings in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, where the US interests would be hit directly (Oil, 5th Fleet). Israel is caught in between and the question is what happens first - The fall of the Saudis and weakening of the US ability to maintain stability there, or the modernization in already destabilized countries. Additionally, hopefully the US wont push Russia once again in to the Arab camp, which sees it's interests undermined by destabilized countries in its proximity, and alarmed by a questionable intervention in Libya. I would like to inform you about Israel. It is the land of the Jewish people since ancient times. Palestians are a recent invention, influenced by surrounding Arab nations to create a false "refugee" people in the hopes of breaking Israel's legitimate link with its homeland. This, too, will be unsucessful.
