Unfortunately Israel is surrounded by neighbors who call for her destruction, and a mandatory draft continues to be needed. We live here, we support our country and our right for it to be our homeland. With that said there can be some compromise. Everyone should serve but the type of service can be different. For example- rather then military, national service is a great way to also help the country and follow the Torah of helping those in need (shelters, hospitals, etc) that also helps our country. Or in the south there are places where religious can study part of the day and do military service. Everyone can and is capable of doing something- helping our people is always a good thing.

do you honestly think that they had the energy to sit and learn in the labor camps ? while they were starving to death..?? They were lucky to have the energy to move their limbs.. Sorry but you can't compare the level of learning now to what meager learning that might have been going on during the holocaust.

Apart from the fact you lot hate the haredi and think its not fair they have a LEGAL EXEMPTION why do we NEED to draft them? The army don't want them because of the additional costs involved and shouldn't it be them who have the final say. Whats a better investment a load of new tanks to replace the old Merkava 1 & 2 which are vunerable to modern anti tank weapons or expanding the units like Nahal Haredi so thousands of haredi cn be drafted ? You don't like the fact the fact some of them don't work, how is putting them into the army going to change that? They are not the same issue. So why do we need to draft the haredi other than the fact alot of secular people just don't like them?

of a society has the right to demand that others, and the society as a whole, carry them on their backs for the duration of their lifetime. The only exceptions are the weak and disabled. In Israel this is demanded by a certain section and granted by the rest of us. Both parties are treaty to a very basic immoral and wrong concept. The time has come to change this basic misconcept.

All haredi young men will report for duty,the Army will process them,the Army will tell them,now go home,we will call you when we need you,meanwhile,get a job,go to collage,anyway, the IDF can't absorb all the haredim into the Army,for various reasons many seculars are also rejected from service,the umbilical cord to the haredim will be cut,let the haredim replace the african infiltrators, for Israel 2 problems will be solved.
