This predicament is not as simple as it seems. If Israel goes at it alone there is a big probability that other Muslim nations will see it as a rejection of the other nations to help Israel and that might give them the pretense to join in the retaliation against Israel. You have to keep in mind that Sunni and Shia do not get along but the Islamist hate towards Israel is much stronger. It is very unfortunate that Obama has shown some disdain towards Israel, the Islamists are counting on him to let Israel down.
