1. Piggy Panetta
(08.02.12)
Piggy Panetta seems to be hovering all the time over Israel these days ! Obviously trying his best to stave of an Israeli attack on Iran for his master Hadji Hussein Obama.
2. You have to ask Obama
Ahmed Shah ,   Tehran, Iran   (08.02.12)
You have to ask Obama whats the use of "10% sanctions with exemptions" ? Iran is mostly self-sufficient in food items, only few imported items like cars, gadgets etc are affected. Also has over $150 billion in cash reserves in tax-havens & gold bullion, which is enough for few years. A total naval & land blockade may have been more effective, but not such eye-wash sanctions. And since many countries are co-operating with Iran in thwarting the sanctions, they are clearly not effective. Btw, please ask Obama to show his Birth Certificate first & deport his illegal immigrant aunt residing in New York....ha ha ha ha !
3. Sanctions did not work on N.Korea
Amos J   (08.02.12)
Sanctions did not work on N.Korea. The are starving & eat grass but still have the bomb. The Ayatollahs are far more fanatical & determined than N.Korea, so how will sanctions ever stop them ??? Quite ludicrous !
4. Iran reflagging tankers
(08.02.12)
Iran reflagging tankers and evading sanctions ! Out of a fleet of 39 Iranian oil tankers, 15 now fly the Tuvaluan flag. In recent weeks, the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) has changed the names and flags of its fleet to avoid sanctions by the EU.
5. Sorry, thats wishful thinking !
Khaleed Habash   (08.02.12)
Sorry, thats wishful thinking ! The situation in Iran is that the sanctions are having some effect on imported luxury items, but on most commodities the prices are stable. The government is able to recieve payments through tax havens & trade through barter & cross-border smuggling with friendly countries easily. Thus hoping the regime will collapse quickly is quite far-fetched !
6. more time wasting
(08.02.12)
Americans & Europeans want Israel to show "restraint" and allow themselves to be chemicalized & nuked so that Obama can win his elections, price of gas does not rise and the Euro does not crash.
7. A scharade where all the actors well know the truth, but go

on nevertheless.... Just like doomed marriages invest in "counselling" we invest our precious time (to act in advance) into Obama's pro-Jihadist policy!

The flag that the vessel flies is completely irrelevant. Iran can change the vessel's name and it can change the vessel's flag, but it cannot change the vessel's IMO number, it cannot change the vessel's call sign, and it cannot change the vessel's classification society. That is how vessels are identified, by the way -- IMO designation, call sign, and classification society. Those are set when the keel is laid in the shipyard, and remain unchanged over the lifetime of the vessel which, for double-hulled supertankers, is about twenty-five years; thirty years if well maintained. Vessel names, flags and ownership change all the time -- that's why no one really pays much attention. If you knew anything about shipping, you would know that the IMO number, the call sign and the vessel's classification society are really the only things that matter.
9. Full strict sanctions should have been in force fm beginning

Wishful thinking? Then why is inflation in Iran running at approximately 60%? Why are supermarket shelves empty? Why does it cost a day's wages to buy one meal? The sanctions are hurting the common people in Iran -- I'm sure the assortment of mullahs and ayatollahs aren't going hungry, but that is not the case for the average Iranian. They're not people -- they're sheeple for allowing the mullahs to get away with it. I guess if worse comes to worse, they can drink all the oil Iran cannot sell and eat bullets. Sprinkled with some pistachios. Yum, yum!
11. # 2 Ahmed Shah.you are right,

sanctions don't work, but cruz missiles are very affective,do the aiatollas and the bazaar merchants pay attention to what's happening in Syria ?.do the people of Iran like the aiatolla regime that rules over them, more than the syrians like bashar asad ?.
