All Reform, Conservative and Orthodox streams of marriages and conversions should be recognized. One day we will all come to our senses and reunite and it is only the beginning. to #26 you are dead wrong on some of the things that your are saying are very questionable, and you admit that it's a bit racist, but do you feel guilty about that, and about proselytizing it is suppose to be encouraged not discouraged to those who wish to convert. and the only few reasons that it is not easy to become a jew is because of many religious sects that are doing the negative mitzvah of discouraging and instead they are suppose to encourage converts, and the other reason is because our fellow jews in the diaspora reform, conservataive and orthodox are not in Eretz Yisrael and aliyah is encourage and one day it will be out of the rabbinates hands and it will be the Almighty ruler of the universe.

Then why do they charge different rates to open a marriage file depending on where you get married? It costs almost twice as much to get married in the hall of a 5-star hotel as it does to get married in a standard event hall. If you get married in the Rabbanut (with their own caterer for the reception), it costs even less. When I got married in the Ramat Gan WIZO club, the Ramat Gan Rabbanut didn't know what to charge me for the file. In addition, we had our own rabbi, a friend of the family, but they sent their own rabbi anyway-- and he had his hand out for an envelope, despite the fact that all he did was deliver a pre-printed ketubah, he wasn't even a witness. Not money people? The only needy they donate these proceeds to are themselves.

As i said , in some communities you can convert very rapidly , sometimes only to have a Jewish wedding . Then their children are'nt raised as Jews , but as seculars , and so on . Believe me some "conversions" aren't worth to have this name . I lived most of my life abroad , knew some of such "converts" , not Jewish at all . That's why i , a ultra secular , can't accept those conversions . Jews don't proselyte , we make it difficult , not easy ,for someone to become Jewish . When i got married , abroad , my fiancee , a 100 % Jewess , was member of a liberal community . To not araise any suspicion , because they arranged many "conversions" and "weddings" , we went to an Orthodox rabbi , and had no problems at all here .

of the money they receive to the needy. The genuine Rabbis live very modestly. M.Davison,we don t see the facts as they are, we see the facts as we are.

Israel recognises Jewish, Christian and Muslim marriage, just as did the Ottomans when they ruled the area. Regarding payment, in the Diaspora you pay a fee if you are not a congregant. Israel seems to have a similar system. Nothing unusual.
38. Number 11 streimels
Danny ,   London England   (08.08.12)
Most chatonim/ bridegrooms who wear a streimel do not go to the govt Rabbi to arrange their wedding. Haredim have their own Rabbonim.

Joseph ,   London UK   (08.08.12)
In France you have two weddings, one civil and one religious. Here in London, to keep all options for schools open some Masorti Jews have an Orthodox wedding in private and then their big Conservative wedding in public. That enables their children to attend Jewish schools in London, almost all of which are officially Orthodox and expect parents to have a kosher kesuva.

Can you prove your claim? Show me proof and I'll apologize immediately. Without proof, I stand on my conclusions.

recognised Rabbis and look how modest they live. When the Grand Rabbi of my town of origin passed away, there was no money left for the widow. We had to gather money for her. Sadly there are also bad apples among Rabbis, that give a bad name to the majority of fine Rabbis. The fact that i have no proof,is not a proof that you are right. Look for good Rabbis you will find plenty. .
