be forced to support judaism throught taxes. israeli doen't pay priest and imans like the rabbis. Christian and Moslim's schools are support by the government. Judaism is taught in public schools.

It was only The Temple - which doesn't exist right now - that the Bible required people to support. I view a tax exemption as a form of financial support because the state - other tax paying citizens - must make up for the lost revenue for land occupied by tax exempt property. I bet Israel could use the revenue the various houses of worship would be required to pay.

If only they would be so quick to back their fellow Jews...but then, big donations grease the wheels, don't they?
5. No surprise, they are not supporting Mosques and Churches
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (08.13.12)
No surprise, they are not supporting Mosques and Churches but trying to protect their own tax exempt status. This is self serving while trying to look like they support the minorities.

Govt schools are not required to teach Judaism. There are govt run Arabic speaking schools as well as Hebrew speaking schools and even the predominantly Jewish secular schools teach Jewish history and culture more than Judaism as such. Halachic Judaism is the 'established' religion of the State of Israel similar to the role of the Church of England in England, and therefore the govt provides a parish shul, rabbi and mikveh for each Jewish community. I understand that Israeli Arabic leaders are also paid by the govt.
