Jamaica is much, much smaller than the United States, but they humiliated American sprinters in these Games. What, if any, point did you wish to make, other than to point up the fact that you are an atrocious speller and an ignorant fool? There's no need for you to keep proving it; we know.
32. Olympic medals for israel
Jim ,   Calgary Canada   (08.11.12)
You should get a gold medal for this column. One true measure of a country is how it treats its old and the sick!
33. Really?!
yeah right bud! ,   Canada   (08.11.12)
So it's either your health benefits or an olympic medal?! Get real! if your government wanted to get its priorities straight, there could be more than enought money for both!
34. Sport is universal. Survival alone is not enough.
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.10.12)
So, what do Ms and Mrs Israeli do at the end of the day? Do they congratulate each other that they survived another one, or maybe that's not enough to justify the living process? Sport binds people together universally all over the world. Being part of sport competition means you've survived, you are capable of displaying your talents today and are looking forward to better days ahead. Also, sports replace war by peaceful means. I am sure Ms. and Mr. Israeli prefer peace, prefer sport even if it costs some money. Yes, it pains me Israel won no medals and is inferior in it to many countries, Iran included.
35. #20, Israeli & Jewish prides are different. U r not Israeli.

the Fields Prize, the unofficial "Nobel Prize for mathematics." The Nobel Committee created an Economics prize, but the prestige of the Fields prize prevents the creation of a new mathematics prize.
37. Jews & Sports
Harold F ,   Signal Hill, CA   (08.11.12)
Here we go again. It's the old saw about G-d giving Jews brains, not athletic capability. There's no problem with being smart and athletic. They are not mutually exclusive. Remember, a sound mind in a sound body.

39. The Israeli media thrives on hype of everything Israeli
Alex Weiss   (08.11.12)
It counters the national inferiority complex that comes with being a third world state with big ambitions. But the Olympics are a reminder of where Israel stands in world ranking, and not just in sporting achievement.
40. Medals
Mike ,   Uk   (08.11.12)
Its not a quiestion, I got 4 you got none, or our brains are bigger than yours. If Israel does not encourage competitiive sports which brings people from ethic groups together, there is no hope for it. Sure, encourage the continued separation, haredi, arabs, jew, non-jew, secular and others, a recipe for disaster. There is no cohesion but internal conflicts. It was marvellous to see blacks, browns, whites and all sorts winning for the the UK and being proud of their country. Israel on the other hand forsters gheotto, wall building and separation. Good luck to you.
41. Sarah, Oh, Sarah...
Walt K ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (08.11.12)
Don't be frustrated... and enjoy the show. Be happy for the winners. Next time will be better. Maybe... Olympics should be a peace time where humans around the world enjoy to be together. At last, how about taking your running shoes and get a life... euh, a jog around a park ? It is easy : one step beyond the other, left. right, left right...

Walt K ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (08.11.12)
You are right. The athletes who represents their countries in olympics deserve to be honoured because they compete against the best in the world.

You are so right... And those Israeli/Jewish Nobel laureates were all educated here in the USA.. Here's hoping Sarah B is Olympic sport caliber and brave enough to give up her American Citizenship... TATA.
45. #3, you people are the LAST to deride us about sports!
Tahl   (08.11.12)
In each and every opportunity your Iranian athletes have had to compete against an Israeli athlete, they have forfeited the fight because of politics - and this makes you into a much bigger nation of losers, and a much bigger joke, no matter how many medals you won in these Olympics.

Honey bunny, I'm not in the least bit frustrated. I am very happy for the winners; not so much for those who did not medal despite having spent the better part of their lives preparing for just that moment. Wow! Talk about disappointment! Sigh -- whatever will they do without those huge endorsement monies that will NOT come their way .... By the way, I run five miles every day, sweetie. That's RUN -- not jog. Been doing it for years. Rain -- shine -- snow -- sleet -- I do my running. Care to lift yourself off your oversized rump and join me one of these days? I'd love the company, and I'll even slow down for you. (Probably to a walk!) Who says I'm not nice! Left, right, left right .... gee, Walt -- have you been practicing Nazi goose-stepping or something?

Sarah doesn't like anyone. Not even Israelis unless they are neocons. I have never heard a positive word from her yet - about any issue. These extremist right wingers are bitter and twisted people who have only contempt and no respect for ANYONE. Thankfully they don't really represent us at all. Congradulations to ALL medal winners - be they Iranians, Algerians or people called Usain and better luck next time to our athletes
48. ONCE AGAIN THE COMPUTERS.......#13
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (08.11.12)
Still in your dream-world,Sarah.The Iranian computers are all ok for your information.Give up,Sarah.Nothing seems to be working for you.
49. Medals
Bertram ,   London, UK   (08.11.12)
I think most people here are missing the point. What really matters is not Olympic medals, Nobel prizes and the rest of it. What is important is the overall level of social, economic, political, and technological achievement together with quality of life - in any society. The fact that the UK has exceeded all expectations in medal achievement does not mean there is a high level of participation in sporting activity. Nobel prizes do not necessarily indicate an overall high level of academic attainment. No country should be complacent simply because a few have won glittering prizes.

Istvan ,   BUDAPEST HUNGARY   (08.11.12)
Be sedated, hungarian jews won totally more than 80 olimpic gold medals. Inclusive two of my distant relatives. The majority of USA and european champions are cappucino skinned persons, who are far from the clear blooded celtic irish race.

Damaged "mussels"? If you're going to make sarcastic comments....at least learn how to spell the words you're using. And while you're at it, go look up the definition of a mussel.

Harold ,   USA   (08.11.12)
Don't bother yourself with Sarah Bull. She is trying to win a medal by using her rotten big mouth. She is a loser and stays a loser.
58. #56 Regarding this "Harold"
Tahl   (08.11.12)
This is hardly the first time he's made such an embarrassing spelling mistake. My guess is that he's either a Muslim immigrant adopting an American name, or just a bored high school dropout.

The only medal Sarah could win is if there is one for the flying harpy... She could win the gold one. Go Sarah go !
