I was raised in a lapsed Christian style in an interfaith family. I returned to Judaism about two or three years ago, after a lapse by my Jewish grandmother and mother following the Shoah. Christianity is all about death and feeling bad about everything and the end times, of course. That was my experience anyway. Judaism seems to have a lot more to do with celebrating life, at least from what I've seen so far. The family's shifted to having a lot more emphasis on Judaism now as my goy father likes it. How can Christianity be an elite group when it makes up the majority of people in my country and is also the largest organised religion set in the world. I am a religious Jew, madame.

I am Jewish by Halakha according to the Mishne. It's my dad who's the Christian not my mother. Heck, I could go to Israel and request citizenship right now under the Law of Return - I was baptised when I was five days old so I had no choice in that matter - if I were so inclined.

In case my other post doesn't get published, I will respond to this one and expand on it. I said that my mother and her mother were Jewish and I am halakhtically Jewish as a result. I did not convert to Judaism, but rather readopted the customs that had fallen by the wayside in the last two generations as a result of the Shoah - my grandma and mother both blamed the murder of seven of our family members on their Judaism. While they abandoned their customs though, they did not abandon their pasts. I am an Ashkenazi Jew regardless of whether I like it or not (I'd kind of prefer to be Sphardi). If something I said earlier made it seem like I'm a convert to Judaism, then I apologise.
