1. Baruchim Habaim. These kids have religious charm.
Moshe   (08.12.12)
Hope the government won't secularize them like they did to the almost 5,000 Yemenites 60 years.

Good luck and I'm for families being reunited following such tragedies. However, why is the teenager sporting peiots? What sort of indocrimination of the haredi type have influenced this family. Sephadics from the middle east did not live in gheottos or wore black and white. Come on, stop stamping your Eastern european ways and customs and let them develop their own cultures.
4. @ #3 - Wrong
Joe ,   NYC   (08.12.12)
Sephardic Jews almost ALWAYS had beards or peyot - for thousands of years. Yemeni Jews did not "import" that custom from European Jews. Do a little reading of Jewish history ;)
5. #3 Because the secular government hasn't cut it off yet

and to TBers 1, 2,3 & 5 people your mega stupid is showing. I for one know that stupid can't be fixed so no point in even trying!
7. To Louisa's sons I say and to the oldest one first: You are
Rivkah   (08.12.12)
husbands of the blood to your mother and you must provide for her as for a wife. Marry only women who understand the obligation of a son to a widowed mother and accept that the mother will be part of the household of the oldest son. Failing to provide for one's own or to be husband of the blood to the mother is denying the faith.
8. @7 woman u aren't Jewish are you?
(08.13.12)
Because if you were you wouldn't make such extremely ignorant comments. (besides she will apply and receive a stipend from the Israeli National Insurance Institute as the surviving spouse of someone killed in a terror attack. We do take care of our own)

Shut your ignorant mouth. The Yemenite community of Jews is one of the most Torah-educated and talented Jewish community that ever existed. They have lived the way they lived for three thousand years, making them one of the oldest single-settled Jewish communities in the world. Show a little respect. You also clearly have absolutely no sense of the religious requirement of growing sidelocks, which transcends borders. Or look at some photographs of the Yemenite Jews who made their way to Israel both in the days preceding the State of Israel and after. The men and boys all have peiot. Why don't you just shut up? Your ignorance is profound. Embarrassing, too, although I doubt that you have the requisite qualities to appreciate the fact that you have made a complete fool of yourself.
10. Take care of the widows.....
Ezra ,   Sandiego   (08.13.12)
The Torah mentions taking care of the widow and orphans. Lousia Nahari is deserving of our comfort and care. Ynetnews should post a point-of-contact where we can send our contributions.
11. 8: My name is Rivkah, not woman. Gesenius' Hebrew
Rivkah   (08.13.12)
Lexicon is a Jewish book on the meanings and symbols of Hebrew words in the Torah and Tanakh. Gesenius' says the son is the husband of the blood to the mother which means he is responsible for his mother if she needs assistance. When Yeshua of Nazareth was dying, he told his mother and his beloved disciple, "Lo, your mother! and Lo, your son!" Yeshua was the first born son and it was his responsibility to care for his mother and to deligate that responsibility if he could not do so such as at his death. I have lived 64 years and have met so many elderly women whose children abandon them or do not provide for them when they need assistance. Few cultures take care of their elderly anymore. But I am encouraged by Omri and Gilad Sharon caring for their elderly father instead of euthanizing him as is often done in Europe and in America. In California, Governor Terminator (Schwarzenegger) signed a law allowing even nurses to put T.S. for Total Sedation on a patient's chart to euthanize the patient without discussing it with the patient or the doctor or the family. In Israel you say the National Insurance Institute provides a stipend. If that is what Social Security is, it is not much and a woman on that will need a male relative to help out. A girlfriend on Social Security whose children do not help her has to live in vacant houses until they sell, housesitting, since on Social Security she cannot afford to pay for an apartment. She also cannot afford to pay the $6500. a year for outpatient care for Medicare in her old age and can only afford hospitalization care. Why aren't her three grown children paying the $6500. insurance for her? Because most peoples' children are bums who don't care for their parents. An elderly mother in Ellisville, Mississippi, I knew named Hattie Pitts, put her three children through college and then they abandoned her. She washed my grandmother's sheets for 65 years and lived in a shack and did not have a heater that worked until I bought one for her. You seem to think taking care of a parent is normal, but I am here to tell you it is abnormal for children who are grown to care for their parents who need assistance.
12. THIS IS WHY ISRAEL MUST BE STRONG
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.13.12)
To welcome tormented Jews who are not welcome in any other land. Thank you Israel for showing US why Israel is so very important. May G-d bless her husbands brave soul.
13. # 11 Rivkah Just so you know....
Big bad Jew ,   United States   (08.13.12)
Many of us do care for our elderly parents, our mothers in particular. My blessed mother lived with us for 5 years after she returned visiting Israel until her peaceful death. Please consider that most Jews will not accept Jesus, they worship only one G-d. ( Thou shalt have no other G-d before me) I must say I agree with them there is but one G-d and no other worthy of worship. Many parents like my R.N. mother would rather NOT visit Dr's as she knew perhaps ( at times ) more than they. I remind you, you aren't responsible for any one but yourself, as are they. However, the way we honor our parents is what is the basis for a long life as promised by our G-d. In that, I do agree with you, whether Jew or not, one must honor thy father and mother. Shalom.
