Absurd, did America act against North Korea, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq when they were building nuclear reactors ? No, they just emitted a lot of hot air just like today. And who benefitted the most from Osirak attack ? Obviously America, they were able to throw Saddam out from Kuwait & invade Iraq easily. If Saddam had a few nukes, he would have been the Emperor of the Middle-East by now !

Well... being honest with oneself in making estimations of the actual situation going on, and the amount of information one divulges to the popular media are quite different matters. And I don't trust the popular media to paint an accurate portrait of any person really, let alone any political figure. The media rakes the muck when they see money in a scandal; and that kind of thing can flip whenever you throw cash at it... Olmert's opinion is not the popular one - how would it make sense for him to espouse such an opinion for "brownie points?" Explain that. Sometimes not being on the offense can be more conducive to negotiations. In fact, probably most of the time. It's not a "kumbaya" attitude. It's a "how about we not piss people off, and instead try to treat them like people and talk to them instead of just insulting them all in the interests of more peace and business" attitude, because war is bad for business!
